Kickoff time, network, streaming revealed for Texas at Texas A&M on Nov. 30

We finally know the kickoff time and network for the high-stakes rivalry renewal of Texas Longhorns vs. Texas A&M Aggies on Nov. 30.

We finally know when the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown. That’s the official sponsored name of the Texas vs. Texas A&M game.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Longhorns travel to Kyle Field to face the arch-rival Aggies. The game will kickoff at 6:30 PM CT (7:30 PM ET) on Nov. 30 and be broadcast on ABC. The game will also stream on ESPN+

The series returns after a 13-year hiatus. Angry with Texas’ influence over the Big 12 and the launch of the Longhorn Network, the Aggies left the Big 12 for the SEC in 2011. Texas won the final meeting 27-25 on a last second field goal.

The stakes and passion will be at an all-tine high when the teams meet again. The game could be for a berth into the SEC Championship game for the winner.

It’s a good bet that with the importance of the game, ESPN’s top announcing crew will be on hand to call the matchup. Expect Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit in the booth with at least Holly Rowe on the sidelines for the primetime ABC clash. ESPN GameDay might also set up shop in College Station that morning.

The “Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown” will actually be a series that will include 19 different sports. For sports in which there is no head-to-head competition, points will be awarded based on which team finishes higher in the respective NCAA Championships’ final standings. Both schools are excited about bringing back the rivalry.

“Rekindling our historic rivalry with Texas A&M and bringing that back for not only our fans but fans of college sports across our great state, the country, and the world, is so special. And we’re so grateful our friends at Cotton Holdings are on board to help amplify that with the Lone Star Showdown rivalry series. I know our fans are going to follow the standings closely,” said Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte.

ESPN drops new “SEC on ABC” graphics package

The SEC on CBS may be gone, but say hello to the SEC on ABC graphics package.

[autotag]SEC media days[/autotag] in Dallas have wrapped, with all sixteen teams taking the podium one by one to talk about their programs. The Oklahoma Sooners spoke on Tuesday, as head coach [autotag]Brent Venables[/autotag], quarterback [autotag]Jackson Arnold[/autotag], linebacker [autotag]Danny Stutsman[/autotag] and safety [autotag]Billy Bowman[/autotag] represented the team well in Big D.

With the close of SEC media days, ESPN unveiled their brand-new graphics package for the “SEC on ABC” that will debut this fall.

The days of the “SEC on CBS” and its iconic theme music are over, but the “SEC on ABC” looks promising from a viewing standpoint. OU will surely have more than a few games on ABC, as their new conference looks to highlight its new members.

The [autotag]SEC[/autotag] will now have their games exclusively shown on ESPN networks, after previously playing on CBS. The [autotag]Big Ten[/autotag] will be shown on every major network but ESPN/ABC (FOX, CBS, NBC), while the [autotag]ACC[/autotag] is on shakier ground as a whole as a conference. Their TV deal is also with ESPN/ABC, as well as the CW Network. Oklahoma’s old conference, the [autotag]Big 12[/autotag], will still be shown on ESPN and FOX.

The “SEC on ABC” and the new graphics will debut on Saturday, August 31, one day after the Oklahoma Sooners take on the Temple Owls to open their season.

Report: SEC announces 10-year TV deal with ESPN starting in 2024

The SEC announced a huge 10-year TV deal with ESPN in a press conference on Thursday night. Details and analysis here.

The SEC announced a huge 10-year TV deal with ESPN in a press conference on Thursday night.

The deal starts in 2024 and gives ESPN exclusive media rights to SEC football and men’s basketball – specifically the top 15 football games and eight marquee basketball games – ending the previous deal with CBS that lasted 30 years.

The familiar 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS will be moved to ABC and there will also be a prime time game following the afternoon matchup, so we can say goodbye to the SEC’s best game being aired in the afternoon.

“This is a significant day for the Southeastern Conference and for the future of our member institutions,” SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said. “Our agreement with ESPN will greatly enhance our ability to support our student-athletes in the years ahead and to further enrich the game day experience for SEC fans around the world.”

Something to note is the size of the contract.

CBS paid the SEC $55 million per year and, while the SEC refused to release the financial side of the new deal, reports from the Sports Business Journal expect the new payout to be $300 million each year.

The SEC released even released a hype video following the announcement.

The real question is, what will happened to the SEC on CBS intro music?
