SEC Nation to showcase Auburn’s game at Texas A&M

The SEC Network’s premier Saturday morning show will be on the campus of Texas A&M next Saturday for an SEC West showdown between the Tigers and Aggies.

Auburn’s SEC opener is setting up to be an important game in the Western Division race, and SEC Network is buying into the hype.

Auburn is set to face Texas A&M to kick off the SEC campaign next Saturday, and SEC Network will mark the occasion by producing their premier pregame show, SEC Nation, live from College Station.

The show, which is in its 9th season, has been on site for 10 Auburn games. In those games, Auburn holds a 5-5 record. Last season, SEC Nation was on hand to see two Auburn games, games in which Auburn ended up losing. The crew was on campus for Auburn’s loss to Penn State, as well as Auburn’s Iron Bowl loss in Tuscaloosa.

The show will be hosted this week by ESPN’s Marty Smith alongside Jordan Rogers, Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow, and Roman Harper. The crew will preview the day’s SEC action which will feature several notable games including Ole Miss-Alabama, Kentucky-Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State-South Carolina. In addition to hosting SEC Nation, Smith’s show Marty and McGee, will also broadcast from Texas A&M on Saturday morning.

Auburn will face Texas A&M this Saturday morning at 11 a.m. CT and can be viewed live on ESPN.

‘SEC Nation’ will broadcast live from Tuscaloosa for Texas vs. Alabama

“SEC Nation” will be live from Tuscaloosa ahead of Alabama’s Week 2 matchup against Texas.

Alabama’s Week 2 matchup against the Texas Longhorns is already attracting plenty of national attention after last year’s one-point Crimson Tide win on the road in Austin, Texas. Tuscaloosa will host SEC Network’s Saturday morning show “SEC Nation” on Sept. 9.

The Longhorns will join the SEC in 2024 but will play out the 2023 season as a member of the Big 12, which makes this an interesting soon-to-be conference game.

With this being the rematch of the 2022 nail-biter, fans are eager to see how both playoff-hopefuls conduct themselves early in the season with numerous impact players from last season gone.

SEC Nation won’t be alone in broadcasting live from Tuscaloosa, as “Marty & McGee” will be live prior to the start of SEC Nation. The announcement was made this morning via Twitter.

Predicting SEC Nation locations for the 2023 season

SEC Network’s premier Saturday morning pregame show will have plenty of fun sites to travel to in 2023.

Outside of watching actual college football games, the best part of a fall Saturday is rolling out of bed to watch each college football pregame show.

It is always a treat to watch the team of Laura Rutledge, Tim Tebow, Jordan Rogers, Roman Harper, and Paul Finebaum talk about the day’s big games ahead of a full slate of action.

This will be the last season of the SEC as we know it, as the conference will change its scheduling format to accommodate the addition of Oklahoma and Texas. Despite the pending changes, there will still be plenty of great SEC action week in and week out this season.

Where will SEC Nation take their show each week? Here’s our pick of which SEC games have the best chance to be highlighted by the SEC Network’s premier Saturday pregame show.

SEC Nation’s next stop is Jacksonville for Florida-Georgia game

SEC Nation is headed to Jacksonville to be a part of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (Florida vs. Georgia). Who can blame them?

The SEC Nation crew will be in Jacksonville next weekend to present its weekly show from the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, also known as the Florida-Georgia game.

The Gators enter this game just one game above .500 (4-3) and with little success against conference opponents. Aside from a victory over Missouri, Florida has fallen to Kentucky, Tennessee and LSU, in that order. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs come into the game as the No. 1 ranked team in the country, according to both major polls.

That means Gators legend [autotag]Tim Tebow[/autotag], who is a part of the SEC Nation crew, will have to make a tough pick for or against his alma mater. UF alumna Laura Rutledge, who typically hosts the pregame show, won’t have to make that call since she’s serving as the reporter for Sunday’s NFL contest between the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars. That game takes place in London, so Marty Smith will serve as a guest host in place of Rutledge.

For Florida to keep any hope of winning the SEC East, it needs to beat Georgia next Saturday. Georgia has taken four of the last five meetings in this rivalry, so this would be a big win for the program even if Florida doesn’t make the playoffs.

Billy Napier and Kirby Smart are familiar with each other from their time on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama, but this will be their first clash as head coaches. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday.

LSU set to host SEC Nation for matchup against No. 7 Ole Miss

This will be LSU’s fifth time hosting the program and the first since 2019.

Saturday’s contest between LSU and No. 7-ranked Ole Miss could have implications in the race for the SEC West, and it’s getting some recognition from the SEC Network.

The Week 8 duel — which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT as the SEC game of the week on CBS — will host the weekly SEC Nation pregame show, hosted by Laura Rutledge and featuring Mary Smith, Ryan McGee, Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow, Roman Harper and Jordan Rodgers.

The show begins at 9 a.m. on the SEC Network and will run until the beginning of Saturday’s games at 11. Coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] will make an appearance at 10 a.m. on the set at the Quad.

This will be the fifth time LSU has hosted SEC Nation and the first since the 2019 contest against Auburn, which it won en route to a national title.

LSU enters Saturday’s contest coming off a big road win against Florida and sits at 5-2 (3-1 SEC). Meanwhile, Ole Miss (7-0, 3-0 SEC) is the lone remaining unbeaten team in the SEC West after Alabama’s loss to Tennessee.

The Tigers lost to the Vols in Week 6 in a blowout. They’ll hope for a better result against a top-10 opponent this time around with the SEC Network crew in town.

Paul Finebaum rose from an orange Tennessee casket to make his Alabama game pick

You have to see Paul Finebaum made his pick for the Alabama/Tennessee game.

Three things are certain in life: death, taxes and Paul Finebaum making a scene on ESPN’s SEC Nation.

For his pick in Saturday’s hotly anticipated rivalry matchup between No. 3 Alabama and No. 6 Tennessee, Finebaum chose to make his pick in the most dramatic way possible.

Keeping in lockstep with the Halloween season, six Rocky Top pallbearers brought Finebaum to the SEC Nation stage in a casket, only for the Tennessee alum to rise and pick his the Volunteers to beat the Crimson Tide for the first time since 2006.

It was quite a way to get the Third Saturday in October started.

It’d be quite something for the long-snakebitten Vols to get their first win against Alabama in the Nick Saban era, a win that would catapult Tennessee into the top 5 of the rankings for the first time in ages.

While there’s still a game to play and history heavily tilting in Alabama’s favor, at least the Vols have Finebaum on their side.

Social media reactions before Florida’s Week 3 matchup with USF

It’s almost time for Florida to take on USF and social media is buzzing about what’s expected to be a lop-sided game in favor of the Gators.

It’s once again game day in the Swamp, and the Florida Gators are expected to put a hurting on the USF Bulls after falling to Kentucky a week ago.

The loss left a bad taste in the mouth of everyone involved on the Gators’ side and that’s what has fans and experts thinking that the score might be very, very lopsided tonight. The Bulls gave up 50 to BYU in the season opener and 20 to Howard in Week 2, so it’s reasonable to expect Florida’s offense to rebound nicely this week.

[autotag]Anthony Richardson[/autotag] struggled in particular against UK, so this should be good for his confidence. Last year, he threw a pair of touchdowns on just three pass attempts against USF as the backup, and he also added another score on the ground while rushing for over 100 yards. If he can come close to replicating that sort of efficiency as the starter this time around, we may get to see the debut of [autotag]Jalen Kitna[/autotag] or [autotag]Kyle Engel[/autotag] at quarterback in the fourth quarter.

It’s almost game time, so let’s go over some of the last-minute buzz on Florida’s Week 3 matchup with USF.

Social media reactions morning before Florida’s Week 2 matchup with Kentucky

It’s week two of the college football season and social media is buzzing about the Gators top-20 matchup with Kentucky.

There’s a lot more national attention on the Florida Gators heading into week two than there was for week one of the college football season. An upset win over then No. 7 Utah last weekend put UF back on the map, and now the Gators must defeat No. 20 Kentucky to start the season 2-0.

Last year, Kentucky ran all over Florida and won by a touchdown, the Wildcats’ second victory in over 30 years against the Gators. The difference this time around is that Florida has Billy Napier and Anthony Richardson leading it. Despite many mistakes in the season opener, Napier and Richardson kept Florida in a position to win the game through some gutsy play-calling and were bailed out by the defense at the last second.

The hope is that things won’t come down to the wire, but Kentucky features its own potential first-round quarterback, Will Levis. With starting running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. out, Kentucky will rely on Levis heavily.

Here is some of the early buzz around the college football world leading up to the first SEC matchup of Florida’s season.

John Daly is ready for football, declares: ‘I’m not gonna lie, I’m drunk’

Woo Pig, indeed.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are starting off the 2022 college football season with a bang in their season opener, hosting the Cincinnati Bearcats fresh off a playoff run. All of Fayetteville is rowdy and ready, the atmosphere heightened even more by the presence of SEC Network’s game-day show, “SEC Nation”. Of course it wouldn’t be right to have such a festive atmosphere at Arkansas without perhaps the most notable Razorback fan of all, legendary golfer/partier John Daly. The man did not disappoint.

Daly started off his appearance on SEC Nation like any good tailgater would — with a game of beer pong, albeit with the difficulty level turned way down.

As the morning progressed, Daly was clearly starting to ease into party mode, and got the crowd going by teeing off with an exploding golf ball.

By the time Daly sat down for a light, fun “Hillbilly Headlines” segment with Marty & McGee, he found himself in a moment of clarity many a game-day partier is familiar with.

Happy college football season to all of us, especially John Daly. Woo Pig, indeed.

SEC Nation in Fayetteville, will set up at iconic campus location

Could they have picked a better spot on the Arkansas campus? Probably not.

Locals know Arkansas football is back. Now regional folks do, too.

SEC Network’s “SEC Nation” pregame show will be Fayetteville during Week 1 for Arkansas’ season opener against Cincinnati. The crew will set up just east of Old Main, close to Arkansas Avenue. The show begins at 9 a.m.

Arkansas and Cincinnati are one of three meetings of Top-25 teams in college football’s first full Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The game will be the teams’ first meeting.

SEC Nation is hosted by Laura Rutledge who is joined by analysts Tim Tebow (Florida), Jordan Rodgers (Vanderbilt), Roman Harper (Alabama) and syndicated radio host Paul Finebaum. It’s a two-hour pregame show that travels to showcase SEC game of the week every week.

The visit of the show is the sixth to Fayetteville. The last was during the Hogs’ win over Texas in September 2021.
