Where did Oklahoma Women’s Basketball land in SEC preseason media poll?

Oklahoma Sooners Women’s Basketball picked to finish fourth in the mighty SEC.

The Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball program is coming off of another strong season in year three under head coach Jennie Baranczyk. They made the NCAA tournament for the third straight season. They battled Indiana tight for 35 minutes before the Hoosiers pulled away late.

Still, it was another encouraging season for Baranczyk and the Sooners ahead of Oklahoma’s move to the SEC.

With their inaugural season in the SEC approaching, the media voted on their preseason rankings and the Oklahoma Sooners came in at No. 4. OU trails defending national champion South Carolina, the Texas Longhorns, and women’s hoops power LSU in the preseason rankings.

Behind Oklahoma are Ole Miss, Alabama, and then blue blood program Tennessee.

The Sooners have a ton of talent returning for the 2024-2025 season. They return 98% of their scoring production from last year’s Big 12 championship team. It was already an experienced roster, and Baranczyk picked up All-American forward Raegan Beers out of the transfer portal.

The Sooners have an opportunity to go into the SEC and make a statement against the deepest and most talented women’s basketball conference in the nation.

SEC East 2023 preseason media poll: Georgia on top

What teams got the most votes to win the SEC East in 2023?

The Georgia Bulldogs are looking to win the SEC East for a third consecutive season. However, that is not the Bulldogs’ main storyline in 2023. Georgia is hoping to win a third straight national championship. The last team to win three consecutive titles in college football was Minnesota from 1934-1936.

Georgia’s top expected competition in the SEC East comes from the Tennessee Volunteers. Last year, Tennessee was a win over South Carolina away from likely making the College Football Playoff.  The Volunteers should have a strong offense again in 2023, but their defense remains a question mark.

A dominant majority of media members voted that Georgia would win the SEC. However, a shocking number, who probably shouldn’t be taken seriously, picked Vanderbilt to win the SEC East.

What is the projected order of finish in the SEC East and who is predicted to win the conference?

Media predicts final SEC West standings in 2022

Here’s where the Tigers stand according to those polled at SEC Media Days.

We’re almost there, folks.

SEC Media Days are now behind us, and we’re just over a month away from toe meeting leather on the college football gridiron. That means it’s time to start getting those take machines fired up and ready to go.

At the event in Atlanta this week, the media voted on the preseason standings for both divisions in the conference. The Tigers finished dead last in the SEC West in 2021 with a 3-5 record, which ultimately ended the tenure of national championship-winning coach [autotag]Ed Orgeron[/autotag] just two years removed from his title.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] was brought in to clean things up, and expectations are high for a man who is already one of the most accomplished coaches in college football entering his first season. Here’s where the media thinks the Tigers stand in the division race entering the season.
