TV, kickoff time set for SEC championship game

The Georgia Bulldogs are set to play in the 2024 SEC championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7

The 2024 SEC championship game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 7. The SEC championship will be decided in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and will be televised on ABC.

The Georgia Bulldogs have clinched an SEC championship berth after chaos unfolded across the SEC this past weekend. Georgia will play the winner of the Texas-Texas A&M game. The SEC champion will have a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff.

Georgia plays Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 29, so UGA will have an extra day to prepare for the SEC title game. Georgia’s game against Georgia Tech is a nonconference game, so it has no bearing on the SEC standings.

Georgia beat Texas, 30-15, this season. The Bulldogs have not played against Texas A&M since the Dawgs beat the Aggies, 19-13, in 2019. Georgia has  not played at Texas A&M since the Aggies joined the SEC in 2012.

Texas and Texas A&M play at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 30. ABC will broadcast the Texas-Texas A&M game.

TV, commentators set for Georgia-LSU in the SEC championship

The 2022 SEC championship between Georgia and LSU will be televised on CBS

The Georgia Bulldogs play the LSU Tigers in the 2022 SEC championship. The two teams met in the 2019 SEC championship.

A lot has changed since the two programs met in 2019. Quarterback Joe Burrow and LSU won the national championship in 2019. Georgia won the 2021 national championship, but lost in the 2021 SEC championship to Alabama. Additionally, LSU fired head coach Ed Orgeron and hired Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly.

Georgia (12-0, 8-0) and LSU (9-3, 6-2) exceeded expectations in 2022. Nobody in the preseason media poll voted for LSU to win the SEC West. Georgia lost 15 players to the 2022 NFL draft, but still managed to go undefeated for a second consecutive regular season.

The 2022 SEC championship will be televised on CBS and will kick off at 4 p.m. EST on Dec. 3. Brad Nessler will call the game’s play-by-play. Gary Danielson will serve as an analyst, and Jenny Dell will be the game’s sideline reporter.

Georgia has appeared in nine SEC championship games. The Bulldogs have faced LSU in four of their nine appearances. Georgia is 1-3 against LSU in SEC championship games. Georgia has represented the SEC East in five of the last six SEC championships.

TV, commentators set for SEC Championship

The Georgia Bulldogs will play against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 SEC Championship at 4:00 p.m. EST on Dec. 4

The Georgia Bulldogs will play against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 SEC Championship. The game will kick off at 4 p.m. EST on Dec. 4 and will be televised on CBS.

Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl are the CBS commentators for the SEC Championship.

The game will be UGA’s fourth SEC Championship appearance in the past five years. Alabama has won seven SEC Championships since Nick Saban took over as head coach of the Crimson Tide.

Alabama is coming off a 24-22 overtime win at Auburn. Georgia had a much easier time in its 45-0 victory over Georgia Tech last week.

The Crimson Tide enter the game 11-1. Georgia is 12-0 and has only played in a single close game (season opener versus Clemson).

Alabama has the SEC’s second-leading passer in quarterback Bryce Young. Young loves to throw to wide receivers Jameson Williams and John Metchie. The Crimson Tide’s duo of Williams and Metchie have hauled in 59.1% of Young’s passing yardage.

Georgia’s top-ranked defense has allowed seven defensive touchdowns all season. The Dawgs will face their biggest challenge of the season against the Crimson Tide.

SEC announces conference TV, kickoff times for Dec. 19

The SEC announced conference TV and kickoff times for Dec. 19 including Vanderbilt at Georgia football. UGA and Vandy play at noon.

The SEC has announced TV times and the full schedule for Dec. 19. The slate of games, which features the 2020 SEC Championship Game, will be the conference’s final football action of the season (with the notable exception of bowl games).

The Georgia Bulldogs will kickoff against the Vanderbilt Commodores at noon. Georgia’s previous tilt against Vandy was postponed. There’s no postponing this game. Vanderbilt has a depleted roster, so they may not play against the Dawgs. We’ll see if Vandy can field a team Dec. 12 first.

Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia will look to finish the season 8-2 overall and will try to lock up another New Year’s Six bowl appearance.

Other good Dec. 19 SEC football games include: Texas A&M at Tennessee, Ole Miss at LSU, Missouri at Mississippi State, and of course the SEC Championship between Florida and Alabama. The Texas A&M Aggies are still fighting for a College Football Playoff berth and they’ll need an impressive performance against Tennessee.

Florida against Alabama for the SEC title has serious College Football Playoff implications. The winner is certainly in. If Alabama loses, then they still may make the top four. Florida has to win to have a chance at a National Championship.

Here’s the full TV schedule for the last week of SEC action:

The SEC Championship on CBS will be the night cap for an incredible day of college football.
