Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Week 3 Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Seahawks (1-1) travel to play the Minnesota Vikings (0-2) in Week 3. Minnesota is one of the last teams to have its home opener, which will begin at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Below, we look at the Seahawks vs. Vikings odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Both teams could be ready to hit the panic button. Seattle is in sole possession of last place in the NFC West after blowing a 14-point lead in a come-from-ahead loss to the Tennessee Titans and can’t afford to fall any further behind the front-runners.

The Seahawks’ problem has been late in games, as they have outscored their opponents 45-19 in the first half, only to be outscored 30-13 after halftime.

Minnesota has been snake bitten through two games. In Week 1, the Vikings were well within scoring position against the Cincinnati Bengals in overtime only to have an RB Dalvin Cook fumble converted into the game-losing points. Last week at the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings had a chance to win at the end of regulation, only to have PK Greg Joseph push a game-winning 37-yard field goal wide right.

The Vikings could just as easily be 2-0 – they’ve been outscored by a total of four points – but instead are 0-2 and desperately needing a win to keep their season from swirling down the drain.

Seahawks at Vikings odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Seahawks 27, Vikings 24

Money line

This game should be close, but there is one overriding factor that has to come into play. These teams have developed a rivalry with this being the sixth time they meet in the last seven years (and each of the previous three), so they know each other’s personnel.

One thing Seahawks QB Russell Wilson doesn’t know is what it feels like to lose to the Vikings. He is 6-0 in his career against Minnesota and while he will be in a hostile environment, the SEAHAWKS (-130) always finds a way to win.

Against the spread

Giving away 2.5 points should never scare someone betting the spread because if you believe a team is going to win, you expect them to win by a field goal or more.

The line is better for Seattle than it is for Minnesota, which is a happy bonus if you believe the Seahawks are going to make it seven in a row under Wilson against the Vikings. Take the SEAHAWKS -2.5 (-108).

Over/Under

The Over/Under is very high for two teams with a history of trying to kill time off the clock with long drives and solid defense. The line clearly favors the Over, but Minnesota is going to again be without its starting left tackle and Cook – the heart and soul of the Vikings offense – didn’t practice all week.

Seattle lost to Tennessee because its defense got run over by RB Derrick Henry 35 times and the Titans dominated the clock in the second half. Look for the Seahawks to flip the script and run more than they have in the first two games. They’re where they’re at because opponents have held the ball 15 minutes more per game than the Seahawks.

While everyone seems to think this will be a 38-35 shootout, it won’t be. Take the UNDER 54.5 (-103).

Seattle Seahawks at Indianapolis Colts odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing the Seattle Seahawks at Indianapolis Colts Week 1 odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts meet Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and the game is televised on FOX. Below, we look at the Seahawks vs. Colts odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Seahawks went 4-1 straight up last season when playing east of the Mississippi River, but they were just 2-3 against the spread. This game is in Indianapolis, which observes Eastern Daylight Time. The Under was also 3-2 in those five games.

The Colts get a spot of good news, as QB Carson Wentz is not on the injury report ahead of Sunday’s game. After missing time due to a foot injury and COVID-19 issues, he is ready. So he will debut, and with the exception of WR T.Y. Hilton (neck), on the short-term injured reserve list, the Colts skill position players are at full strength.

Seahawks at Colts odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Seahawks 27, Colts 24

Money line

Betting the SEAHAWKS (-155) on the money line isn’t a bad play and isn’t too terribly expensive. I think this will be a one-score game, coming down to a late field goal perhaps. As such, rather than worrying about the spread, just play the game straight up.

Against the spread

The SEAHAWKS -2.5 (-130) are quite expensive laying the two and a half, so it’s better to play the money line; however, if you are dead-set on not paying the little bit of extra juice, I think Seattle wins this one by a field goal and covers.

I’ll take Seahawks QB Russell Wilson any day of the week up against Wentz, especially as the latter is still jelling with his new teammates.

Over/Under

The lean is OVER 49.5 (-108), but it’s only worth a small-unit wager. New Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron plans to use the short and intermediate pass routes a lot more, and more passing is good news for Over bettors.

Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks preseason Week 3 matchup, with NFL odds, lines, picks, predictions and best bets.

The Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) meet the Seattle Seahawks (0-2) Saturday for a 10 p.m. ET kickoff at Lumen Field. Below, we look at the Chargers vs. Seahawks odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Chargers split their two preseason games while covering the spread and playing to the Under in both games. They’re averaging just 11.5 points per game on offense while allowing 10.5 PPG.

The Seahawks have gotten crushed so far in the preseason, outscored 50-10 in two losses; they failed to cover the spread in each outing. The Under also cashed in both games.

Chargers at Seahawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Seahawks 22, Chargers 13

Money line

The Chargers won’t play QB Justin Herbert or S Derwin James, instead using a combination of QBs Chase Daniel and Easton Stick. The Seahawks appear to be leaning toward QB Russell Wilson making his preseason debut, and that’s the difference here.

However, the Seahawks (-250) are too expensive on the money line. AVOID, and look to the spread.

Against the spread

The SEAHAWKS -5.5 (-108) are a good play with Wilson and a host of other starters playing on their home turf, while the Chargers rest some key cogs. It won’t be a slam-dunk cover, but it will be a cover nonetheless.

Over/Under

UNDER 35.5 (-110) is the slight lean, as the Under has connected for both sides in their four combined preseason games.

The Seattle offense needs to get going, so look for the starters to see a little extended playing time. However, the defenses for both sides have played well and will keep this from going Over.

The Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) and the Seattle Seahawks (0-2) wrap up their preseason slates against one another Saturday night. Their matchup kicks off at 10 p.m. ET at Lumen Field in Seattle. Below, we look at the Chargers at Seahawks odds and lines.

The Chargers have not had QB Justin Herbert take a snap yet this preseason. Their last game was a 15-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, managing to gain only 162 yards of offense.

The Seahawks are winless in the preseason so far. They were blown out 30-3 in their last game by the Denver Broncos. They have not played their starters yet this preseason.

The Chargers, at +200 odds, have an implied 33.33% chance of winning, or 2/1 fractional odds. If Los Angeles wins outright or loses by 5 points or less, a Chargers +5.5 (-110) ATS bet wins.

The Seahawks (-250) have an implied 71.43% chance of beating the Chargers, or 2/5 fractional odds. Seattle must win by 6 or more points for a Seahawks -5.5 (-110) ATS ticket to cash.

There would need to be at least 36 points scored Saturday for an OVER 35.5 (-115) ticket to cash, while a combined point total of 35 or fewer points is a win for the Under.

Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks odds and lines: Broncos huge road favorites

Looking at Saturday’s Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks preseason game with NFL betting odds and lines.

The Denver Broncos will be on the road Saturday night when they take on the Seattle Seahawks in the second week of the preseason. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET at Lumen Field in Seattle. Below, we look at the Broncos at Seahawks odds and lines.

The Broncos crushed the Minnesota Vikings in their preseason opener 33-6. QBs Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock both played well, with Bridgewater throwing for 74 yards and a touchdown on only eight attempts, and Lock totaling 151 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.

The Seahawks were beaten by the Raiders, 20-7, Saturday night with the offense being led by QBs Sean Mannion, Alex McGough and Geno Smith. The offense struggled without Russell Wilson under center with the running backs finding it difficult to pick up yards also.

The Broncos are heavy favorites in this game coming in at -280 on the money line. A $10 bet on the Broncos to win outright would return a profit of only $3.57, whereas a $10 bet on the Seahawks would net $22.00 if they were to win.

The Broncos are favored by 6.5 points. For them to cover the spread, they must win by at least seven points. A $10 bet on the Broncos to cover would return a profit of $9.52. If the Seahawks win or lose by six or fewer points, they will cover the spread, with a $10 bet paying out $8.70 in profit.

The Over/Under is set at 37.5 points. For the Over to hit, the teams would need to combine for at least 38 points, which would pay out $9.09 in profit on a $10 wager. The Under requires them to combine for 37 or fewer points with that same $9.09 profit.

Seattle Seahawks at Las Vegas Raiders odds and lines: ‘Hawks open preseason as short dogs

Odds and lines for Saturday’s Seattle Seahawks at Las Vegas Raiders NFL preseason game.

The Seattle Seahawks head to Nevada to take on the Las Vegas Raiders in the first full week of the preseason Saturday. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Seahawks at Raiders odds and lines.

The Seahawks won the NFC West last season but were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Rams. They went 12-4 in the regular season behind another outstanding season by QB Russell Wilson, though he received little support from Seattle’s defense.

The Raiders started strong last year by going 6-3 in the first nine games, but they finished the season 2-5 in their last seven and missed the playoffs. Jon Gruden remains the head coach, with QB Derek Carr under center and RB Josh Jacobs leading the backfield. Las Vegas is poised to compete in the difficult AFC West if Carr plays at a high level.

The Seahawks are underdogs against the Raiders, with a money line of +100 and an implied win probability of 50%. A $10 wager on the Seahawks to win outright will return a profit of $10, while a $10 bet on the Raiders at -125 would net a profit of $8. Las Vegas has an implied win probability of 55.56%.

In order for the Seahawks to cover the spread, they must win outright, tie or lose by no more than 1 point. For the Raiders to cover they must win by at least 2 points. A $10 bet on the Seahawks to cover would return a profit of $9.53, with a $10 bet on the Raiders returning $8.70.

With the Over/Under set at 37.5 points the Seahawks and Raiders would have to combine for 38 or more points for the Over to hit, or 37 or fewer points for the Under to cash in.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson OVER 59.5 rushing yards (-115)

Carson did not play against the Rams in the two teams’ first matchup. He rushed for 69 yards against the Rams in Week 16. Between Weeks 13-16, Carson had no fewer than 12 carries and no less than 63 yards. Carson’s success was part of the Seahawks getting back on track.

Akers only played against the Seahawks in the Rams’ win in November, gaining only 38 yards on 10 attempts. He missed the game in Week 16 with a high ankle sprain. He had only 34 yards on 21 carries in Week 17. He is healthy but not 100% still and the Seahawks had the league’s No. 5 rush defense. The Rams and Seahawks always play each other close. Of their last 12 meetings, eight have been decided by fewer than 10 points. This has the makings of another close battle in Seattle, where the Rams have historically done better than most visiting teams.

I still like the Seahawks to win at home. The Rams offense isn’t explosive enough, and Seattle’s defense has improved dramatically in the second half of the season against sub-par quarterbacks. Take the SEAHAWKS (-160) to win outright.

Against the spread (?)

Knowing the Rams and Seahawks often keep the game close, I like the Rams to cover here. They have a decent chance to win straight up, but the better approach is taking Seattle on the money line and the Rams against the spread.

The Rams have covered in six of their last 10 games, while Seattle is only 4-6 in its last 10. Take the RAMS +3 (-105) to cover.

Over/Under (?)

Both of these defenses are playing well right now and the results have been a trend of Unders hitting more often than the Over. The total went Under in 12 of the Rams’ 16 games this season, and in nine of Seattle’s 16.

I like the UNDER 41.5 (-105), even though the line is set somewhat lower than usual.

Seahawks at 49ers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Seahawks 27, 49ers 20

Money line (?)

The 49ers have nothing to play for and could opt to take a guarded approach with some of their banged-up players. They’ve also shown very few signs of life in the last two months, only the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals since November began.

The Seahawks have stepped up on defense and should be able to slow down San Francisco’s offense, rolling to a win by at least one score. Take the SEAHAWKS (-295).

Against the spread (?)

I like the Seahawks against the spread even more than the money line. They’ve had trouble covering lately, but the 49ers are a beatable team and Seattle’s defense has improved significantly since the last meeting between these teams.

Take the SEAHAWKS -6.5 (-110) to cover and head into the postseason riding some momentum.

Over/Under (?)

This one’s tricky. I don’t expect the 49ers to move the ball that consistently against the Seahawks, but Seattle is also going up against a strong 49ers defense. The Seahawks will find the end zone a few times and the 49ers will break a long play or two to spark the offense.

Take the OVER 45.5 (-115) in this game, even though the total has gone Under in each of the Seahawks’ last seven.

Rams at Seahawks: Game notes

  • The Rams are 5-2 against the Seahawks since head coach Sean McVay took over in 2017, including wins in four of the last five meetings.
  • The Rams haven’t lost back-to-back games since Weeks 15-16 of the 2019 season.
  • The Seahawks are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.
  • In the first meeting this season, the Rams beat the Seahawks 23-16, covering the 3-point spread with the total going Under (55).
  • The total has gone Under in nine of the Rams’ last 11 games, and in each of the Seahawks’ last six.

Rams at Seahawks: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rams 21, Seahawks 20

Money line (?)

The Rams and Seahawks typically play games that come down to the wire. I think that’ll be the case again Sunday with both teams sputtering as of late. The Seahawks barely beat Washington 20-15 in Week 15, while the Rams were stunned by the winless Jets 23-20.

The Rams will bounce back as they often do, once again avoiding back-to-back losses for the fifth time this season. Take the RAMS (+105) to win outright on the road.

Against the spread (?)

The spread is only 1.5 points, so it’s not going to have a huge impact either way, I don’t think. The Rams will have some trouble on offense once again, but not as much as the Seahawks will. Los Angeles’ defense is one of the best in the league and has the talent to match up with WRs DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

As long as the Rams don’t commit costly turnovers, they’ll win this one in a nail-biter. Take the RAMS (+1.5) to cover.

Over/Under (?)

The Seahawks offense simply isn’t as explosive or dangerous as it was to start the year. They’ve become more focused on running the ball with QB Russell Wilson throwing it less.

The Rams will be without RB Akers, which hurts the offense, and is one reason I think this game will come UNDER 47.5 points.
