Kraken at Canucks projected goalies

Martin Jones (25-13-3, 2.99 GAA, .888 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Thatcher Demko (11-14-4, 3.37 GAA, .894 SV%)

Jones has faced the Canucks 3 times this season. He’s 1-1-1 and has allowed 10 goals on 75 shots, good for a 3.27 GAA and .867 SV%. The North Vancouver native is 11-4-2 in 17 career starts vs. Vancouver with a 2.17 GAA and .927 SV% (469 saves against 506 shots).

Demko allowed 4 goals on 36 shots vs. the Kraken in a win Oct. 27. He’s 4-0-0 in 4 career starts vs. Seattle with a 2.50 GAA and .921 SV% (116 saves against 126 shots).

Kraken at Canucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Canucks 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

BET CANUCKS (-105).

Demko has played well vs. Seattle in his career and Vancouver should come out extra focused Tuesday after losing 3 straight games. The Canucks have bounced back after poor performances lately and are 4-1 in their last 5 games after scoring 2 or fewer goals in their previous contest. The Kraken may also be due for a letdown after winning by 7 goals last time out, especially since they are 0-5 in their last 5 games after a win.

Puck line/Against the spread

PASS.

Two of the last 3 meetings between these teams have been decided by 1 goal. Vancouver +1.5 (-250) should hit, but there is no need to pay the higher price on the puck line when the Canucks should win straight up. Bet the moneyline and/or total instead.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 6.5 (+105).

The Under is 3-1-1 in Seattle’s last 5 games and 9-4-1 in its last 14 playing on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. Both goalies have had success vs. the opposing team in their careers and Tuesday’s meeting should be another low-scoring matchup as Vancouver grinds out a win vs. a Kraken team on no rest.

Seattle Kraken at Nashville Predators odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Seattle Kraken at Nashville Predators odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (39-24-7) play the front-end of a back-to-back set against the Nashville Predators (35-26-8) Thursday. Puck drop from Bridgestone Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Predators odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kraken have made games interesting lately no matter if they win or lose. Seattle has gone to overtime in 3 of the past 5 games, winning 2 of those outings, including a 5-4 win at the Dallas Stars Tuesday. Seattle has gone to extra time in 5 of 10 games in March, winning 4 of those contests.

The Predators were drummed 7-0 on the road against the New York Rangers on Sunday but took out their frustrations next time out. Nashville spanked the Buffalo Sabres 7-3 on the road Tuesday, cashing the Over for the 2nd straight game.

Kraken at Predators projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (13-12-4, 3.02 GAA, .893 SV%) vs. Juuse Saros (27-19-7, 2.76 GAA, .917 SV%, 1 SO)

Grubauer coughed up 3 goals on just 10 shots Saturday at home against the Edmonton Oilers before he was pulled midway through the 2nd period. He is still 5-1-1 with a 2.78 GAA and .891 SV% in 7 starts in the month of March despite the ugly outing.

Saros was the beneficiary of the 7 goals of support in Buffalo, stopping 28 of the 31 shots he faced in the 7-3 win over the Sabres Tuesday. He is a solid 4-2-0 with a 2.60 GAA and .918 SV% in 9 appearances in March, allowing 3 or fewer goals in 8 of those outings.

Kraken at Predators picks and predictions

Prediction

Kraken 4, Predators 3

Moneyline

The KRAKEN (-125) are red-hot on the road, winning 6 in a row away from home.

The Predators have dropped 5 of the past 6 games against teams with a winning overall record. These teams have met just 4 times since Seattle came into the league, and the Kraken have won 3 of those meetings, including the only 1 this season at Climate Pledge Arena on Nov. 8 by a 5-1 score.

In the only previous meeting in the Music City, the Kraken earned a 4-3 win last season on Oct. 14, 2021 — the first win in franchise history.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Predators +1.5 (-240) will cost you nearly 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s too expensive even if you think they’re going to keep it close.

The Kraken -1.5 (+175) have played in six 1-goal games in 10 outings in March, so AVOID the visitors as well.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (+100) might be the best play on the board, especially at even money.

The Over has connected in 6 of the past 7 games, and 9 of the last 13, for the Kraken. The Over has cashed in the past 2 games for the Predators too, with an average of 8.5 total goals per contest.

Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (38-24-7) kick off a 4-game road trip Tuesday against the Dallas Stars (38-19-13). Puck drop from American Airlines Center is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Stars odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Kraken are coming off a 6-4 setback against the Edmonton Oilers at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Saturday. Seattle has won just once in the last 5 games, going 1-3-1 during the span, including back-to-back setbacks against Dallas from March 11-13.

The Stars picked up a 6-5 win in overtime Saturday against the Calgary Flames in Alberta, cashing as underdogs (+120). The Over is on a 9-1-1 run for the Stars, as the Dallas offense has posted 4 or more goals in 9 of the previous 11 contests.

Kraken at Stars projected goalies

Martin Jones (24-12-3, 3.06 GAA, .887 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Jake Oettinger (30-10-10, 2.46 GAA, .918 SV%, 4 SO)

Jones allowed 5 goals on 32 shots in his most recent start on March 13 against the Stars at CPA. His most recent action was Saturday, entering in a relief appearance against the Edmonton Oilers. He allowed 3 goals on 13 shots in just over a period and a half.

Oettinger turned aside 33 of the last 38 shots he faced in Saturday’s OTW in Calgary. He won both of his starts last week in Seattle, allowing just 5 goals on 59 shots in the victories. He is 6-2-0 with a 3.34 GAA and .895 SV% in 8 starts in March.

Kraken at Stars picks and predictions

Prediction

Stars 5, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The STARS (-155) are a solid play as a moderate favorite on home ice.

Dallas has been an offensive dynamo lately, going for 58 goals in the last 13 games, or 4.47 goals per game. The Kraken (+140) are less of a certainly, winning just once in the last 5 games overall, while going 21-46 in the last 67 games against teams with a winning overall record.

Puck line/Against the spread

The STARS -1.5 (+150) are worth a look on the puck line.

As a favorite, Dallas is 5-3 in the last 8 games overall. If you like the Stars to win, you should also like it to get it done by 2 or more goals.

The Kraken +1.5 (-180), on the other hand, is just 4-7 in the last 11 games on the puck line as an underdog.

Over/Under

The OVER 6.5 (+105) is the lean, but go lightly, with a half-unit play at best.

The Stars are driving this train, as Dallas has scored a lot of goals lately. That includes 9 goals against Seattle goaltending last week. The Over is 9-1-1 in the last 11 game, while cashing at a 4-0-1 clip in the last 5 home games.

The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 games overall for the Kraken, too, while cashing in each of the last 4 games against winning teams.

Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Dallas Stars (36-17-13) meet the Seattle Kraken (37-22-7) Monday at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Stars vs. Kraken odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

The Stars picked up a 4-3 overtime win Saturday against the Kraken in the front end of the 2-game head-to-head set. Dallas has won 5 of its last 6 games and has scored at least 4 goals in each of its last 7 outings.

The Kraken dropped a second consecutive 1-goal game, but they have grabbed at least a point in 6 of their past 7 outings (5-1-1). Seattle has been lighting the lamp on a regular basis lately too, notching 29 goals across its last 7 outings (4.1 goals per game (GPG)).

Stars at Kraken projected goalies

Jake Oettinger (28-9-10, 2.41 GAA, .919 SV%, 4 SO) vs. Philipp Grubauer (12-12-4, 3.04 GAA, .892 SV%)

Oettinger has won back-to-back starts, including a 28-save performance in Saturday’s 4-3 OT victory in Seattle. He is 4-1-0 with a 3.38 GAA and .888 SV% in 5 starts in March. While he hasn’t been as sharp lately, he has been the beneficiary of 29 goals of offensive support in those 5 outings.

Grubauer was on the opposite side of Saturday’s OT loss, stopping 21 of 25 shots. He is 0-1-1 with 9 goals allowed in his last 2 home starts but is still 4-1-1 with a 2.80 GAA and .887 SV% across 5 starts and 1 relief appearance in March, slightly better than his counterpart.

Stars at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Stars 5, Kraken 4

Moneyline

The STARS (-125) are a solid play on the road in the second end of this 2-game set.

The Stars have been lighting the lamp on a regular basis with 4.1 GPG across their last 7 outings. Dallas will use its offense, and slight goaltender advantage, for another road victory.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-250) would be a solid play on the puck line if the price wasn’t so high. Seattle has been on the short end of a pair of 1-goal losses in the past 2 home games and has cashed on the puck line in 4 of its last 5 games as an underdog.

However, it would cost you 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just not worth it. If you like Seattle, just bet it straight up.

PASS.

Over/Under

OVER 6.5 (+105) might be the best play on the board, especially at plus money.

The Over is on a 6-0-1 run for Dallas, with an average of 8.86 total goals per game during the span (helped along by a 10-4 win Thursday at the Buffalo Sabres). We’ve seen an average of 7.44 total goals per game in the Kraken’s past 9 outings, with the Over a healthy 5-2 in the previous 7 contests. Until these teams start playing better defense, keep thumping the Over when each team is on the ice.

Bruins at Kraken projected goalies

Linus Ullmark (29-4-1, 1.88 GAA, .937 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Martin Jones (23-10-3, 2.95 GAA, .892 SV%, 3 SO)

Ullmark has held foes to 1 or 2 goals in 10 of his last 13 games. The betting favorite for the Vezina Trophy owns a sparkling .939 SV% over that stretch – and that’s barely over his season mark.

Jones has logged an .846 SV% across 3 starts this month. He owns a shaky .862 SV% over his last 8 games.

Bruins at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Bruins 4, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The goaltender matchup gives Boston a significant edge here. The Bruins have had 8 multi-game road trips this season: they are 8-0 in the openers.

But consider a PASS here and shooting for the plus-money on the Puck line.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Bruins are a top-shelf club when it comes to scoring and preventing goals. Against the top-2 scoring teams and top-2 defensive teams in the Western Conference, Seattle is a combined 3-6.

Nine of Boston’s last 10 wins have been by multiple scores. And that has been during a powerplay slump for the most part (Bruins 2 for their last 31 with the man advantage).

TAKE BOSTON -1.5 (+145).

Over/Under

PASS: A lot of respect for both offenses, especially Boston’s – and for Ullmark and the Bruins blueliners.

The Kraken followed up the 4-3 win in Philadelphia with a 3-2 shootout loss at the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday. The win in Phili was Seattle’s only victory in its last 5 games as it has averaged just 2.1 goals per game across the past 7 outings.

Flyers at Kraken projected goalies

Carter Hart (16-15-9, 2.78 GAA, .913 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Philipp Grubauer (6-9-3, 2.90 GAA, .900 SV%)

Hart has been on fire lately, going 2-1-2 across the past 5 starts, while allowing just 8 goals on 153 shots, good for a .948 SV%. He is unbeaten in the past 3 starts on the road.

Grubauer is also on quite the roll, allowing 3 or fewer goals in 11 consecutive starts dating back to Dec. 13. He was on the short end of a 3-2 shootout loss at Winnipeg Tuesday, allowing 2 goals on 40 shots.

Flyers at Kraken picks and predictions

Prediction

Kraken 4, Flyers 2

Moneyline

The Kraken (-200) will cost you 2 times your potential return in this home game at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Flyers are ice-cold and cannot be trusted, either.

AVOID.

Puck line/Against the spread

The KRAKEN -1.5 (+120) on the puck line at plus money is a much better value, especially on home ice.

Seattle hasn’t won by 2 or more goals since Jan. 28 at home against Columbus, so there is some risk and it might come down to an empty-net goal late to get over the hump considering how Hart is playing.

Over/Under

The UNDER 6.5 (-140) is a little on the expensive side, but the Under is definitely the play with a pair of goaltenders performing very well.

The Under is 7-0-1 in the past 8 road games for the Flyers while going 4-1 in the past 6 games overall, and 4-1 in the past 5 against winning teams.

For the Kraken, the Under is 14-5-2 in the past 21 games at Climate Pledge Arena, while hitting at a 10-3-1 clip in the past 14 against Metropolitan Division foes.

Seattle Kraken at Philadelphia Flyers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Seattle Kraken at Philadelphia Flyers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (29-18-5) visit the Philadelphia Flyers (22-22-10) Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET faceoff from Wells Fargo Center (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Flyers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle has been on a cold streak, recently losing 6-3 Friday as +165 underdogs at the New York Rangers. It was the Kraken’s 3rd consecutive loss, all on the road as they’re in the midst of a 5-game road swing — Sunday is the 4th game of the trip. Seattle is 3-5-1 in their last 10 and is on a 4 game road losing streak.

Philadelphia lost 2-1 in overtime Saturday as +115 home underdogs to the Nashville Predators. The Flyers beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in a shootout Thursday as +165 favorites. The Flyers are 2-2-3 in their last 7.  Philadelphia has been a bad team this season, and with this recent losing streak they now sit in 2nd-to-last place in the Metropolitan Division.

Kraken at Flyers projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (5-9-2, 2.97 GAA, .898 SV%) vs. Felix Sandstrom (1-7-1, 3.45 GAA, .886 SV%)

Grubauer last started in a 3-1 loss Thursday at the New Jersey Devils. He allowed 2 goals on 26 shots for a SV% of .923.

Sandstrom saw his last action in a 5-3 loss on Jan. 22 to the Winnipeg Jets. He allowed 4 goals on 29 shots for a SV% of .862. He’s lost his last 5 starts — one was in OT and he’s made 12 saves against 77 shots in his last 3 starts for an .844 SV%.

Kraken at Flyers picks and predictions

Prediction

Flyers 2, Kraken 1

Moneyline

LEAN FLYERS (+130).

Either team could win which is why this is your riskiest bet for this matchup.

The Kraken are the much better team, but this is a very winnable game for the underdog Flyers. Seattle is on the road where it has struggled lately. This is a perfect opportunity for the Flyers to win one.

Puck line/Against the spread

Whether the Flyers +1.5 (-200) win or lose they should be able to make this a pretty close game. They are the underdog despite being the home team, which is a big advantage because of Seattle’s road woes. Philadelphia is also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games despite entering as the underdog in 4 of those 5.

I’m not a fan of suggesting such a big favorite, but I’m willing to make a wager to win a half unit.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 6.5 (-110).

The Under is the slightly safer bet for both teams as of late. The Under is 5-0 in Philadelphia’s last 5 games. The Under is 5-3-2 in Seattle’s last 10 games.

Seattle Kraken at New York Rangers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Kraken at Rangers odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (29-17-5) and New York Rangers (29-14-8) meet Friday at Madison Square Garden. The opening puck drop will be at 7 p.m. ET (NHL Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Rangers odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle is playing the back half of 2 road games in as many days. On Thursday, the Kraken lost 3-1 at New Jersey. They are 0-2-0 (outscored 7-1) on what will end up being a 5-game road swing.

The Rangers have won 3 in a row and are a robust 18-4-3 since Dec. 5. New York has won 4 straight at MSG and has scored 4.75 goals per game along the way. Before their masterful run kicked off in December, the Rangers dropped a 3-2 overtime decision in Seattle Nov. 17. That loss was part of a stretch that saw New York go 8-9-5 from Oct. 20-Dec. 3. The Rangers also acquired RW Vladimir Tarasenko from the Blues, and he has been skating with the team. It’s unknown if he’ll be activated for the game.

Kraken at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 3, Kraken 2

Moneyline

The Rangers are perhaps a slight lean and might have been more of one had this Seattle group gotten off to a better start on its 5-game trip. A bounce-back is imminent.

STEER CLEAR.

Puck line/Against the spread

Netminders vs. shooters is the best side in this Friday night test at MSG. PASS on the puck line and look for some leverage on the total. One prop you can take a chance on is ARTEMI PANARIN 1 OR MORE ASSISTS (+110). Panarin is a great playmaker, and he has 3 assists in 2 games since the All-Star break. He’s also best friends with Tarasenko, and if he suits up, those two will have immediate chemistry.

Over/Under

Seattle has played in 3 straight Unders. The Under is 5-3 across the Rangers’ last 8. The Under is 4-0 in New York’s last 4 against winning teams. The Under is 5-1-1 in Seattle’s last 7 against winning teams.

The Kraken’s goal scoring in 5-on-5 play does not match up with expected goals. Mix in solid goaltending, and BACK THE UNDER 5.5 (+115).

Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Seattle Kraken at New Jersey Devils odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (29-16-5) visit the New Jersey Devils (33-13-4) Thursday. Face-off from Prudential Center is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Devils odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle is coming off a 4-0 blowout loss to the New York Islanders Tuesday. That defeat was their 2nd in a row on the road following a 5-2 blowout at the Edmonton Oilers on Jan. 17. Seattle went 3-2 on a 5-game home stand between the road defeats, including a 4-3 OT win against New Jersey on Jan. 19.

The Devils recorded their 2nd straight victory with a 5-4 overtime win vs. the Vancouver Canucks Monday. New Jersey has won 4 of its last 5 games — all in overtime — and 9 of its last 11 overall. Five of the Devils’ last 6 contests have required extra time, with the only OT loss coming to Seattle.

Kraken at Devils projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (5-8-2, 3.03 GAA, .897 SV%) vs. Vitek Vanecek (22-5-2, 2.34 GAA, .916 SV%, 2 SO)

Grubauer last started in a 3-1 victory vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets Jan. 28th, turning away 24 of 25 shots (.960 SV%).

Vanecek turned aside 26 of 30 shots (.867 SV%)  Monday in a 5-4 OT win vs. Vancouver in his last start.

Kraken at Devils picks and predictions

Prediction

Devils 4, Kraken 3

Moneyline

LEAN DEVILS (-155).

New Jersey should win this game, but Seattle will make it close. The Kraken did get the win in overtime on Jan. 19 when they last met, but I doubt they will sweep New Jersey in their short 2-game season series.

Puck line/Against the spread

BET KRAKEN +1.5 (-180).

Both of these teams have been relatively cold ATS as of late, but Seattle is clearly the better ATS team. Seattle is 30-20 ATS to New Jersey’s 27-23, and the Devils have been shockingly cold ATS of late despite their win streak. New Jersey is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 as it has not been able to close out games in regulation. Expect that to continue in this one as Seattle will make this a close game.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 6.5 (+100).

The Under seems to be the safer bet for Seattle, but for New Jersey, the Over is the overwhelming favorite. The Over is 5-1-1 in the Devils’ last 7 vs. the Pacific Division, is 13-3 in their last 16 games following a win and is 6-0 in their last 6 after scoring 5 or more goals in their previous game. The Over (6.5) also hit when these two teams last met on Jan. 19.

Seattle Kraken at New York Islanders odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Seattle Kraken at New York Islanders odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Kraken (29-15-5) open a 5-game road trip on Tuesday against the New York Islanders (25-22-5) at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kraken vs. Islanders odds, and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Seattle made NHL history in its last extended road trip. In a 7-game journey from Jan. 3-14, Seattle became the 1st team to win every game in a road trip of at least 7 games.

The Islanders have scored a total of just 6 goals in the last 3 games, but New York has won each of the 3 outings. That includes a 2-1 win Monday in Philadelphia behind Semyon Varlamov.

New York suffered a 4-1 loss at Climate Pledge Arena in the 1st meeting back on New Year’s Day.

Kraken at Islanders projected goalies

Philipp Grubauer (5-8-2, 3.03 GAA, .897 SV%) vs. Ilya Sorokin (16-16-4, 2.38 GAA, .923 SV%, 4 SO)

Grubauer was sharp in his most recent outing, allowing just a single goal on 25 shots in a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last Saturday. He wrapped up January with a 2-1-1 record, 1.72 GAA and .940 SV% in 4 starts, easily his best month of the season.

The All-Star Sorokin posted his 4th shutout of the season prior to the break, turning aside all 23 shots he faced against the Detroit Red Wings last Friday. He’ll be looking for revenge after allowing 3 goals on 34 shots in the New Year’s Day loss in Seattle in the first meeting.

Kraken at Islanders picks and predictions

Prediction

Kraken 3, Islanders 2

Moneyline

The KRAKEN (-105) has picked up 8 wins in the last 9 tries against Eastern Conference foes. The Pacific Division leaders are also 7-1 in the last 8 games on the road, and 7-2 in the last 9 against Metropolitan Division clubs.

The Islanders (-110) have been getting strong defense and goaltending lately, but they’re still just 3-10 in the last 13 games overall, and 1-4 in the last 5 against Western Conference foes.

Puck line/Against the spread

The Kraken +1.5 (-290) will cost you nearly 3 times your potential return, if you’re looking for some added insurance, and that’s just too much risk for not enough reward.

AVOID.

Over/Under

The UNDER 5.5 (-110) is worth a roll of the dice, but go with a half-unit at best.

The Under is an impressive 8-1-1 in the last 10 games against Metro teams for the Kraken, while cashing at a 14-5-3 clip in the last 22 against Eastern Conference squads.

The Under is 10-3 in the last 13 games overall for the Isles, while hitting at an 8-2-2 clip in the last 12 at home. The Under is 5-0 in the lst 5 against the Western Conference, too, while going 3-0-1 in the last 4 on no rest.
