On this day, Robert Parish joined the 22,000-point club, a pair of future Celtics were born and the team traded for Scott Wedman.

On this day in Boston Celtics history, Hall of Fame Celtics center Robert Parish scored the 22,000th point of his career in a game he played in 1994. An alum of Louisiana’s Centenary College, Parish was later drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the eighth overall pick of the 1976 NBA draft and would come to the Celtics in a famously lopsided trade in 1980.

He would play for Boston for 14 seasons, winning three of his four NBA titles with the Celtics while also garnering 9 All-Star bids, 2 All-NBA team selections, and a host of other honors.

The game in which he hit the 22,000-point plateau was a 21-point performance in a 102-95 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Parish becoming (at that time) only the twelfth person in league history to reach that mark.

On this day: Bremer, Šundov traded, Wedman, Duerod, Hertzberg born

On this day, the Celtics traded point guard J.R. Bremer to the Cavaliers with big man Bruno Šundov for forward Jumaine Jones.

On this day in Boston Celtics history, former point guard J.R. Bremer was traded along with big man Bruno Šundov and draft assets to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for small forward Jumaine Jones.

The Cleveland Heights (Ohio) native had signed with the Celtics as a 6-foot-2, 185 lb. free agent in the summer of 2002 after going undrafted out of St. Bonaventure University in the NBA draft of that year. Despite his lack of draft interest that summer, Bremer managed to make All-Rookie Second Team for his inaugural season in the Association, elevating his stock enough to make himself a trade asset for Boston.

Bremer averaged 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in his time with the Celtics.

We recently released our picks for the best players to ever suit up for the Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball program. The players and coaches named to the starters and bench units were the best of the best, their names dotted most every page of the record book for the school.

After researching over 120 years of basketball history and countless names, I can say without a doubt that it’s very hard to limit that history to 13 names. Who were the near misses? Which players just missed the cut?

Calculating the Hall of Fame odds for Boston Celtics yet to make it in

There are more Boston Celtics in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame than players of any other team – but who else might be joining them from Boston’s ranks?

The Boston Celtics have more players in Springfield, Massachusetts’ Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame than any other franchise in NBA history, and could be poised to add several more in the future, if the odds listed by Basketball-reference.com pan out favorably.

But who are the Celtics alumni with a good chance — or for that matter, any chance at all? We put together the following list of candidates with at least some shot at making the hall according to the essential reference of all things NBA statistics, excluding players who did not complete at least one full season with Boston to put some manageable limits on this exercise.
