San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The San Jose Sharks (18-22-5) play the second end of a two-game set with the Vegas Golden Knights (32-11-2) Wednesday with a 9:30 p.m. ET puck drop at T-Mobile Arena. Below, we analyze the Sharks-Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Sharks fired out to a 2-0 lead Monday night against G Robin Lehner and the Knights, as they looked to make a winner out of LW Patrick Marleau in his historic 1,768th NHL game. The Sharks fizzled down the stretch and ended up losing their sixth consecutive outing 3-2 in a shootout.

The Golden Knights have picked up seven wins in a row, and they look to tie a franchise record with an eighth straight victory. Vegas scored 3 or more goals in five straight games, too, and it’s averaging 4.3 goals per game during the win streak.

Sharks at Golden Knights: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 8:50 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Sharks +210 (bet $100 to win $210) | Golden Knights -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Sharks +1.5 (-115) | Golden Knights -1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Sharks at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Martin Jones (15-12-3, 3.19 GAA, .898 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Marc-Andre Fleury (20-10-0, 2.09 GAA, .925 SV%, 5 SO)

Jones has lost five straight outings. He made 38 saves on 40 shots in Monday’s shootout loss. He is 0-1-1 with a 3.27 GAA and .892 SV% in three starts vs. VGK, which is pretty much in line with his overall season numbers.

Fleury looks to hit blackjack with his 21st win. He won each of his past three starts, and he is 4-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .943 SV% with one shutout against San Jose this season.

Sharks at Golden Knights: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Sharks 2

Money line (ML)

The Golden Knights (-250) will cost you two and a half times your potential return. Let Monday serve as a cautionary tale, as the Sharks nearly cashed as huge underdogs in a shootout loss.

PASS.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (-105) are a better value on the puck line, although each of their past three wins and four of the past five over the Sharks were by single-goal margins. Go lightly.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 6 (+100) is a decent play at even money. As mentioned above, Vegas has scored north of 4 goals per game during its win streak. While the Sharks have posted just one Over (1-4-1) across their past six outings, the Over is worth a look.

Anaheim Ducks at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Anaheim Ducks at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Anaheim Ducks (13-23-7) play the second end of a two-game set with the San Jose Sharks (18-19-4) Wednesday with a 10:30 p.m. ET puck drop at SAP Center. Below, we analyze the Ducks-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Ducks picked up a 4-0 shutout win Monday, as Anthony Stolarz made a career-high 46 saves in the front end of the back-to-back set. While Anaheim is 2-4-1 across its past seven games, both of those wins were on the road in San Jose.

The Sharks dropped three of their past four outings, and they have been outscored 15-8 during the skid. That includes an 0-2 run against the Ducks, getting outscored 9-1 in those outings.

Ducks at Sharks: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Ducks +165 (bet $100 to win $165) | Sharks -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Ducks +1.5 (-155) | Sharks -1.5 (+125)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Ducks at Sharks: Projected starting goalies

John Gibson (8-14-6, 2.90 GAA, .904 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Martin Jones (15-10-2, 3.14 GAA, .900 SV%, 1 SO)

Gibson enters with just 1-2-1 in his four starts in April with a 2.24 GAA and .934 SV%. He has deserved a better fate, but the offense has provided him with just 8 total goals of support, including 5 in San Jose April 6 for his only win during the span.

Jones has dropped each of his past two outings, including being on the wrong end of the 4-0 score against the Ducks in the front-end of the back-to-back. He has posted a 3-2-0 record, 2.96 GAA and .897 SV% through five starts against Anaheim this season.

Ducks at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Ducks 3, Sharks 2

Money line (ML)

The DUCKS (+165) are a strong value as moderate underdogs, as the Sharks just cannot seem to solve Anaheim lately. The Ducks have outscored the Sharks by a 9-1 count across the past eight days.

Keep rolling with Anaheim until San Jose proves it can turn the tables.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The DUCKS +1.5 (-155) are not as great of a value as playing them straight up, but they’re still a pretty strong play if you’re not feeling Anaheim to win and want a little insurance.

The road team has cashed in four straight meetings in this series, so roll the dice on Anaheim.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5.5 (+100) is the lean here based on the series trends. The Under is 4-1-1 in the past six meetings, and 9-4-2 in the past 15 in San Jose.

Los Angeles Kings at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Los Angeles Kings at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Los Angeles Kings (15-18-6) play the second half of a two-game set with the San Jose Sharks (18-17-4) Saturday with a 10:30 p.m. ET puck drop at SAP Arena. Below, we analyze the Kings-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Jonathan Quick (7-8-2, 2.99 GAA, .892 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Martin Jones (15-8-2, 3.03 GAA, .906 SV%, 1 SO)

After Calvin Petersen lost the front end of the back-to-back, Quick will get his chance on Saturday. He lost each of his two starts against the Sharks this season, but both were one-goal setbacks, and he has saved 41 of the 46 shots he faced.

Jones was in the crease Friday against the Kings and stopped 32 of the 34 shots. He has the Sharks on a roll, winning five of his past six starts, including three wins over Los Angeles. Jones is 6-1-0 with a 2.32 GAA and .933 SV% with one shutout against the Kings, his former organization, this season.

Kings at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Sharks 5, Kings 3

Money line (ML)

The SHARKS (-145) are a moderate favorite, and they’re a decent value considering they have won five straight games and six of seven games in the head-to-head season series. San Jose has won five of its past six games overall, too.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The SHARKS -1.5 (+185) are worth a look on the puck line, as they have won three of their past five games by at least 2 goals. Three of their past four wins against the Kings were by 2 or more goals, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (+100) is a good play at even money. The Over cashed in the front end of the back-to-back set, and the Over has hit in four of the past six for the Sharks, and six of the previous nine for San Jose. The Over has hit in three in a row for L.A., too.

Minnesota Wild at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Minnesota Wild at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Wild (21-10-2) wrap up a two-game set against the San Jose Sharks (14-16-4) Wednesday with a 10:30 p.m. ET puck drop at SAP Center. Below, we analyze the Wild-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Wild have been sharp overall this season, but they have had their struggles on the road. Minnesota lost 4-3 in a shootout in the front end of the back-to-back, and they’ve lost four straight road games since their last victory away from home against the Arizona Coyotes March 5. The Wild are in third place in the West Division and just five games out of first.

The Sharks have also struggled on the road, so good thing they’re at home here. San Jose topped Minnesota as a moderate underdog in the first game Monday and has won three straight at home, outscoring the opposition by a 10-6 margin. The Sharks have managed just 32 points across 34 total games played.

Wild at Sharks: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Wild -165 (bet $165 to win $100) | Sharks +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Wild -1.5 (+165) | Sharks +1.5 (-200)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Wild at Sharks: Projected starting goalies

Cam Talbot (9-5-2, 2.37 GAA, .925 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Martin Jones (11-7-2, 3.29 GAA, .897 SV%)

Talbot was on the short end of the 4-3 shootout loss Monday in ‘The Tank’. He had won three straight games and five of his past six. He is 0-0-1, with a 2.82 GAA and .922 SV% in one start and one relief appearances against the Sharks.

Jones picked up the win Monday by turning aside 22 of 25 shots in the victory. He has won three of his past four starts while allowing 3 or fewer goals in five of his past six outings. Jones is 2-1-0 with a 3.87 GAA and .865 SV% in three appearances against the Wild this season.

Wild at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Sharks 4, Wild 3

Money line (ML)

The SHARKS (+140) are worth backing at home, as the Wild have just been a completely different team away from the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Minnesota has dropped four straight road games, and the Sharks have been their kryptonite. The Wild are 3-7 in the past 10 meetings and 8-18 in their past 26 trips to San Jose.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Sharks +1.5 (-200) are nearly as attractive on the puck line, as you get a little insurance, but you need to risk two times your potential return. Just play the money line for better value.

PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 5.5 (-120) is the way to go. We saw a total of 7 goals in the front end of the back-to-back, and that was the eighth Over result in the past nine meetings in San Jose.

The Over is also a whopping 10-1 in Minnesota’s past 11 on the road, and 5-0 in its past five as a road favorite.

Cam Talbot (9-5-1, 2.34 GAA, .925 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Devan Dubnyk (3-9-2, 3.18 GAA, .898 SV%, 1 SO)

Talbot has been very streaky this season and is on an upswing, winning three straight, and five of his past six outings. He allowed 2 or fewer goals in those five victories, too. He has faced the Sharks just once this season, and he left the game after just 20 minutes due to a lower-body injury. He stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced in his lone period against them.

Dubnyk will get a crack at his former organization. He has dropped four straight starts since posting a shutout against the Anaheim Ducks March 12. He lost his only start in St. Paul Jan. 22, although he looked good with just 2 goals allowed on 27 shots. He also made a relief appearance against the Wild Feb. 22 and stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced.

Wild at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wild 3, Sharks 2

Money line (ML)

The WILD (-165) are rather moderate favorites on the road, but they’re a good play since they’re running hot. Minnesota has won eight of its past 10 games, and is 4-1 in its previous five as a road favorite.

The Sharks won just two of their past eight games, and they’re just 5-11 in their past 16 skates in the Bay Arena. In addition, they have won just twice in their past seven tries at home against the Wild.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Wild -1.5 (+165) covered the puck line in just one of their past three victories. Minnesota has won three straight games, but has had a power outage on offense lately, averaging just 1.6 goals per contest across its past five games.

While the Wild can be trusted to scratch out a win, a puck line cover is a tall order. PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 5.5 (+100) is a strong play, as the Wild have had trouble lighting the lamp lately, and Dubnyk might play with a little extra intensity against his former organization. The Sharks are averaging just 1.7 goals per game across their previous six outings.

The Under has hit in three in a row for Minnesota, and the Under is 7-4-1 for San Jose across the past 12.

San Jose Sharks at Arizona Coyotes odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s San Jose Sharks at Arizona Coyotes NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The San Jose Sharks (13-14-4) begin a two-game set on the road against the Arizona Coyotes (14-14-5) Friday at Gila River Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Sharks-Coyotes odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Coyotes and Sharks are fifth and seventh, respectively, in the West Division. The two teams opened the season with a two-game set in the desert, which they split 1-1; the Sharks won the first meeting 4-3 in a shootout, and the ‘Yotes won 5-3 two nights later.

The Sharks just swept a two-game miniseries against the Los Angeles Kings on home ice. It was only the second time this season they’ve won at least two games in a row. The Coyotes are coming off a 5-4 shootout win over the Colorado Avalanche, but they’re 2-4-2 in their last eight games while being outscored 26-15.

Sharks at Coyotes: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:50 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Sharks +100 (bet $100 to win $100) | Coyotes -120 (bet $120 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Sharks +1.5 (-275) | Coyotes -1.5 (+225)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Sharks at Coyotes: Projected starting goalies

Martin Jones (10-6-2, .902 SV%, 3.23 GAA) vs. Adin Hill (2-3-1, .906 SV%, 2.97 GAA)

Jones started both halves of the two-game set against the Kings and is 3-0-1 in his last four outings since March 13. He went 1-1-0 with 8 goals allowed on a total of 61 shots in the two games against the Coyotes to start the season.

Hill allowed 4 goals on 39 shots in a win over the Avalanche Tuesday. It was his first victory in five starts since stopping all 14 shots he faced in a relief appearance against the Anaheim Ducks in his Feb. 24 season debut.

Sharks at Coyotes: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Sharks 5, Coyotes 3

Money line (ML)

The SHARKS (+100) are the play as even-money road underdogs with a considerable edge in the goaltending battle. The Coyotes continue to ride their third-string goaltender with Antti Raanta (undisclosed) and Darcy Kuemper (lower body) both on injured reserve.

The Sharks also have the edge in both Corsi For percentage and scoring chance for at 5-on-5 play. Discipline and penalty killing have been issues, but they’ve shown some recent improvement when down a man and have killed 11 of their last 12 shorthanded situations.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Four of the Coyotes’ last five losses were by multi-goal margins. Four of the Sharks’ six wins this month were by 2 or more goals.

Back the SHARKS -1.5 (+260) on the alternate puck line for proper value.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 5.5 (-115) is seemingly a lock with Hill back in net for the slumping Coyotes, and I’d also give a long look at OVER 6.5 (+135) on the alternate line.

Jones has allowed just 5 goals over his last four games, but he had previously allowed 16 goals while going 1-2-1 over a five-game stretch.

This one won’t be stolen by a goalie.

St. Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s St. Louis Blues at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The St. Louis Blues (14-10-5) visit the San Jose Sharks (11-13-3) Friday at SAP Center for a 9 p.m. ET puck drop. Below, we analyze the Blues-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Sharks lost back-to-back games to the Vegas Golden Knights Monday and Wednesday; they’re seventh in the West Division.

The Blues are riding a five-game losing skid. Three of those went to overtime but the last two, including a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday, were in regulation. They’re fourth in the West.

San Jose and St. Louis last met March 8, with the Sharks stealing a 3-2 overtime win on home ice. The Blues are 3-1-2 in the season series; all six games have been decided by single goals.

Blues at Sharks: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:41 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues -140 (bet $140 to win $100) | Sharks +115 (bet $100 to win $115)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Blues -1.5 (+165) | Sharks +1.5 (-200)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: +100 | U: -120)

Blues at Sharks: Projected starting goalies

Jordan Binnington (9-7-4, .904 SV%, 2.82 GAA) vs. Martin Jones (8-6-1, .884 SV%, 3.64 GAA)

The recently-extended Binnington has been struggling to live up to his new contract. He’s 0-1-1 since signing the new deal with 8 goals allowed on 63 shots. He’s 2-1-1 with a .887 SV% and 3.47 GAA in five games against the Sharks in 2021.

Jones held the Anaheim Ducks to one goal on 27 shots in a victory Saturday. It was his first game in the last 13 appearances with fewer than 2 goals allowed. He’s 1-0-1 with 4 goals allowed on 68 shots in two games against the Blues.

Blues at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blues 5, Sharks 1

Money line (ML)

Bet the BLUES (-140).

This line is softer than it should be due to St. Louis’ extended losing skid, but the Blues are a much better team than the Sharks. They were a more expensive favorite in each of the first six matchups this season so we’re getting value Friday.

Both teams are in the bottom third of the league in Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5, but the Blues managed to register 50.18% of the scoring chances at full strength in their games.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

This is a tough one based on how hard-fought the season series has been thus far, but the BLUES -1.5 (+165) are the play to burst out of their losing skid and win by multiple goals.

As an indication of how lopsided this matchup truly is, the Blues are +2800 to win the 2021 Stanley Cup at BetMGM while the Sharks are +15000.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS on the Over/Under with the line set at an even 6. The season series is split 3-3 against this number.

San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s San Jose Sharks at Vegas Golden Knights NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The San Jose Sharks (11-12-3) and Vegas Golden Knights (19-6-1) face off Wednesday in the back end of a two-game series. Puck drop is set for 10 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena. Below, we analyze the Sharks-Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Golden Knights took Monday’s opener, improving to 4-0 against the Sharks this season. LW Max Pacioretty and RW Mark Stone each had a goal and an assist, while G Marc-Andre Fleury held San Jose scoreless until there was 5:31 remaining.

Pacioretty scored a power-play goal in the first period, and Stone made it 2-0 early in the third. San Jose RW Timo Meier cut the deficit to one later in the final frame, setting up an exciting final 5½ minutes with host Vegas holding on.

The loss snapped San Jose’s 3-game win streak while Vegas won a third straight. The Golden Knights lead the West by two points over the Minnesota Wild. The Sharks are seventh, 14 points back and 3 points ahead of the last-place Anaheim Ducks.

Sharks at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Martin Jones (8-6-1, 3.64 GAA, .884 SV%) vs. Robin Lehner (3-1-1, 2.96 GAA, .890 SV%)

Jones started Saturday in a 3-1 victory at Anaheim and stopped 26 of 27 shots. It was a nice rebound game for the veteran, who was pulled in his previous start (March 5) after yielding three goals on eight shots in the first 22:16 of an eventual 5-4 OT home loss to the Knights. Devan Dubnyk (3-6-2, 2.95 GAA, .908) was in net for Monday’s defeat allowing two goals on 36 shots.

There’s a good chance Lehner will start for Vegas after being activated off the long-term injured list Tuesday. He last played Feb. 7, a 4-3 win against the Los Angeles Kings, and was a late scratch four nights later with an upper-body injury. If he doesn’t start, look for Fleury (15-5-0, 1.77 GAA, .936 SV%, 4 SO) to be back in net. “Flower” has started 16 of Vegas’ last 17 games and leads all goalies with at least five starts in GAA and SV%.

Sharks at Golden Knights: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Sharks 3

Money line (ML)

PASS. Not only are the Golden Knights 4-0 vs. the Sharks this season, they’re 12-1-3 in the last 16 regular-season, head-to-head meetings. However, Vegas’ -250 price is too much chalk.

Against the spread (ATS)

Back SAN JOSE +1.5 (-135) for a HALF-UNIT, but AVOID if the juice climbs any higher. The Sharks should be more competitive coming off Monday’s loss. The way this rivalry has played out, it would be a personal victory for the Sharks if they can keep this to a one-goal game.

Plus, Knights D Alex Pietrangelo is still out with an upper-body injury.

ATS records: Sharks 15-11 | Golden Knights 10-16

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS on the O/U 6, but back VEGAS OVER 3.5 GOALS (-135) as the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager.

Before Monday’s 2-1 victory, Vegas scored 5 goals in each of its previous two home games … and scored at least 4 goals in its last two wins vs. San Jose.

Plus, as mentioned earlier, Jones’ GAA is 3.64.

O/U: Sharks 13-12 | Golden Knights 13-12

Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Vegas Golden Knights (14-4-1) visit the San Jose Sharks (8-10-2) Friday. Puck drop for the budding rivalry is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET at SAP Center. Below, we analyze the Golden Knights-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Vegas enters on a 4-game win streak, including back-to-back overtime victories. The Golden Knights recently beat the Minnesota Wild 5-1 Wednesday at home and lead the West Division by one point over the St. Louis Blues.

San Jose was shut out 4-0 Wednesday, splitting a two-game home series vs. the Colorado Avalanche. The Sharks are in the midst of a seven-game homestand, which they opened 1-3 and were outscored 19-14 in the first four contests. They are seventh in the West, one point ahead of the last-place Anaheim Ducks and 11 points behind the Golden Knights.

Golden Knights at Sharks: Odds, spread and lines

  • Money line: Golden Knights -200 (bet $200 to win $100) | Sharks +175 (bet $100 to win $175)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Golden Knights -1.5 (+125) | Sharks +1.5 (-155)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Golden Knights at Sharks: Projected starting goalies

Marc-Andre Fleury (11-3-0, 1.71 GAA, .939 SV%, 3 SO) vs. Martin Jones (7-6-1, 3.72 GAA, .884 SV%)

Fleury has started 10 consecutive games since G Robin Lehner (3-1-1, 2.96, .890) has been sidelined with an upper-body injury. “Flower” is on a 4-game win streak, recently beating the visiting Minnesota Wild 5-1 Wednesday when he stopped 36 of 37 shots. The 3-time Stanley Cup champion is 1-0 vs. the Sharks this season, yielding just one goal against 27 shots in a 3-1 road victory in mid-February.

Jones was in net for San Jose’s last two games, surrendering six Colorado goals on 73 shots. He started the Sharks’ one game against the Golden Knights this season – the 3-1 loss to Fleury – and yielded one goal in each period while turning back 26 shots. The eight-year veteran went 0-2 vs. the Knights last season with a 4.80 GAA and .862 SV%.

Golden Knights at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Sharks 1

Money line (ML)

Back VEGAS (-200) with a HALF-UNIT wager. I prefer not to bet money line favorites higher than -180, but the Knights are rolling and worth the heavy juice.

The Knights allow 2.11 goals per game to rank second in the league, while the Sharks yield 3.80 goals per game to rank 30th.

Offensively, the Knights score 3.21 goals per game to rank 10th, compared to the Sharks’ 2.75 goals per game (20th).

Plus, the Knights are 4-2-0 on the road and 7-3 overall in their last 10. The Sharks are 2-4-0 at home and 4-5-1 overall in their last 10.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Bet another HALF-UNIT on VEGAS (-1.5, +125). Only 1 game in the last 5 meetings between these two was decided by one goal. In the last 10, three games were decided by one goal.

The worry is that the Knights are on the road and feature a below-.500 ATS mark.

ATS records: Golden Knights 8-11 | Sharks 10-10

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 6 (+100) is the way to go. The Knights and Sharks played to a 3-1 final the last time they faced off … and with the same tenders in net.

The Under is 5-0 in Fleury’s five road starts this season, while he features a 1.19 road GAA.

If the line drops to 5.5, this becomes a HALF-UNIT play.

O/U: Golden Knights 10-9 | Sharks 12-8

Note: There is no STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager – on this card.

Colorado Avalanche at San Jose Sharks odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Colorado Avalanche at San Jose Sharks NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The Colorado Avalanche (11-6-1) play the first game of a two-game set on the road against the San Jose Sharks (7-9-2) Monday with a 10:30 p.m. ET puck drop at SAP Center. Below, we analyze the Avalanche-Sharks odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Avalanche at Sharks: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 3:45 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Avalanche -225 (bet $225 to win $100) | Sharks +190 (bet $100 to win $190)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Avalanche -1.5 (+120) | Sharks +1.5 (-145)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Avalanche at Sharks: Projected starting goalies

Philipp Grubauer (10-5-0, 2.01 GAA, .923 SV%, 2 SO) vs. Martin Jones (6-5-1, 3.85 GAA, .877 SV%)

Grubauer bounced back from a rough loss to the Minnesota Wild last week with a sharp performance against the Arizona Coyotes Saturday. He stopped 23 of 25 shots, and he has allowed 3 or fewer goals in 13 of his past 14 outings. He stopped all 21 shots he faced for one of his two shutouts in his last outing against the Sharks.

Jones has won just once in his past five outings, and he was also roughed up by Minnesota last week. The Wild hung four goals on him with just 20 shots, leading to a second-period pulling on home ice. He has allowed 3 or more goals in eight of his past nine appearances.

Avalanche at Sharks: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Avalanche 5, Sharks 2

Money line (ML)

The Avalanche (-225) are just too expensive on the road, as you have to lay more than two times your potential return. Look to the puck line instead.

PASS.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The AVALANCHE -1.5 (+120) are a much better value at this price, as they have a high-octane offense and Jones has been terribly leaky in the crease this season.

While the Avalanche are a dismal 4-23 in their past 27 trips to San Jose, they are 4-0 in their previous four meetings overall in this series. The favorite is also 41-13 in the past 54 meetings.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 6 (-115) is a good bet, as the Colorado offense has the potential to take care of this total on its own when.

The Over is also 16-6-2 in the past 24 meetings in this series, including 11-2-1 in the past 14 battles in San Jose. The Over is also 11-5 in San Jose’s past 16 as an underdog.
