Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Houston Rockets (29-35) face the San Antonio Spurs (14-51) Tuesday. Tip-off from Frost Bank Center is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rockets vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Rockets lead 2-1

Houston has won 4 of its last 5 games, most recently beating the Sacramento Kings 112-104 Sunday as the Under (234) hit. C Alperen Sengun (ankle) was forced to leave the game late in the 4th quarter as the Rockets covered as 6.5-point underdogs. Sengun leads the team with 21.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, but now his season is in jeopardy.

San Antonio’s record may be bad, but it has shown recently that it is capable of beating good teams in the NBA. Its wins over the last 2 weeks include victories over the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Golden State Warriors. However, it’s coming off a 112-102 loss as a 5-point underdog against the Warriors Monday with the Under (225) cashing in San Antonio.

Houston is 2-1 against the spread (ATS) vs. San Antonio this season, and the Under has also gone 2-1. The Rockets covered as 7-point favorites with a 114-101 victory in the most recent meeting last Tuesday as the Under (227.5) hit at Toyota Center.

Rockets at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Rockets 112, Spurs 104

Moneyline

Despite having a better overall record, the Rockets (-185) have won just 8 of their 32 road games. But when you look closer, they are 4-1 as road favorites and 4-23 as away underdogs.

However, at -185, it is best to PASS and look to the spread.

Against the spread

San Antonio is on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, and it has covered in just 4 of 12 games on no rest. The Spurs are also just 3-8 ATS in divisional games, while the Rockets are 7-5-1.

BET HOUSTON -4.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under has hit in 8 of San Antonio’s last 10 home games. On top of that, Houston is 4-1 to the Under in its past 5 road games. The line is quite low, but usually the market knows something when the total is this low.

LEAN UNDER 222.5 (-110).

Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Golden State Warriors (33-30) take on the San Antonio Spurs (14-50) Monday with tip-off from Frost Bank Center set for 8 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Warriors vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Spurs upended the Warriors 126-113 Saturday, covering as 12.5-point underdogs. They did it without C Victor Wembanyama as well, but he’s good to go for this one. Three Spurs pitched in 20+ points with F Jeremy Sochan (20), G Malaki Branham (20) and F Keldon Johnson (22) outproducing their name value.

The Dubs looked lost without G Stephen Curry in the defeat, and he’s out again Monday. G Klay Thompson (27) and F Jonathan Kuminga (26) provided the offense, but the secondary scoring wasn’t there. They have lost 3 of 4, and they need this one. It’s the 1st game of a 3-game road trip where they’ll face the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors are in the last play-in spot — 1½ games behind the Lakers.

Warriors at Spurs and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 119, Spurs 116

Moneyline

The last time the Warriors were in San Antonio, they put on a 144-113 waxing. Now, that was last season, and they got 50+ points off their bench and had Curry in the lineup. Those factors will be missing, and Wemby will be in the paint for Kuminga to contend with. The Warriors should get it done, but there’s no way I’m risking -190 on it.

I’m looking for Chris Paul to morph back into CP3 in this one. He had 10 points, 9 assists and 3 steals Saturday, and he went 2-for-3 from distance. So I’ll present 2 options here, and I like the 1st one better. CHRIS PAUL OVER 1.5 STEALS (-145) and CHRIS PAUL OVER 10.5 POINTS (-130).

CP3 had 10 and 15 points the last 2 games. With Curry out and the way the team struggled Saturday, I think he becomes a little more aggressive offensively. He has 2+ steals in 5 of 7 games.

Against the spread

I don’t like the spread here because I’m not sure which Warriors team shows up.

PASS.

Over/Under

The Warriors are just 2-8 O/U over the last 10, and the Spurs are 4-5-1. The Over is also 4-5-1 in the last 10 matchups between the teams. I like the Over here because I think it’ll be relatively close.

Take the OVER 226.5 (-110).

San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Golden State Warriors (33-29) welcome the San Antonio Spurs (13-50) to the Chase Center Saturday. Tip is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Spurs vs. Warriors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Warriors lead 1-0.

The Warriors lost to the Chicago Bulls 125-122 at home Thursday, failing to cover as an 8.5-point favorite. Golden State has lost 2 of its last 3 yet has won 4 of its last 6. It has covered in each of its wins. The Warriors are 33-27 against the spread (ATS) on the season. They are led by G Stephen Curry, who is averaging 26.9 points per game. He’s out for this one, though.

The Spurs lost to the Sacramento Kings 131-129 Thursday, covering as a 12-point road favorite. They have lost 2 straight and 7 of their last 9. However, they have covered in 6 of those 9 and are 31-32 ATS on the season. San Antonio is led by rookie F Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 20.7 points per game. He’s not playing either, though.

Spurs at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 118, Spurs 111

Moneyline

PASS.

Both teams will be without their top scoring options, and with Golden State being a deep roster and at home, it should come out on top but certainly isn’t worth a play on the moneyline.

Against the spread

BET SPURS +11 (-114).

San Antonio has been a covering machine as of late, covering in 4 of its last 5 games. It has covered in 6 of its last 8 as well, being an underdog in all 8. The Spurs have actually covered in every game in their last 8 in which they have been an underdog of more than 7 (5 games).

The Spurs have competent players like F Keldon Johnson as well, so without their star rookie, they do have some firepower. While the Warriors have a similar roster and could play competent basketball without Curry, they are more reliant on the superstar and could struggle. Golden State is just 1-2 ATS in its last 3 home games.

That said, back SPURS +11 (-114).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 227 (-108).

The Warriors have gone Under in 8 of their last 9 games, either scoring or allowing fewer than 100 in 3 of their last 5. Without Curry, they may not have as efficient offensive sets either.

The Spurs are 2-4 O/U in their last 6 and have struggled to score, notching 110 or fewer in 3 of their last 6. Neither team has its leading scorer taking the court, and that could hurt the flow offensively.

Back UNDER 227 (-108).

San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Sacramento Kings (35-26) welcome the San Antonio Spurs (13-49) to the Golden 1 Center Thursday. Tip is set for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Spurs vs. Kings odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Kings lead 2-0

These teams have each covered once in 2 meetings this season, and the Over has gone 2-0. The Spurs covered as 10.5-point underdogs in the most recent meeting Feb. 22, a 127-122 Kings win in Sacramento.

The Kings beat the Los Angeles Lakers on the road 130-120 Wednesday, covering as 3-point underdogs. They have won 2 of their last 3 yet have lost 3 of their last 5. Sacramento is 31-29-1 against the spread (ATS) on the season and 4-6 ATS over its last 10. It is led by G De’Aaron Fox, who is averaging 27.1 points per game (PPG).

The Spurs lost to the Houston Rockets 114-101 Tuesday, failing to cover as 7-point road underdogs. San Antonio has won 2 of its last 3 yet has lost 6 of its last 8. The Spurs are 30-32 ATS on the season and 5-2 ATS over their last 7. They are led by rookie F Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 20.7 PPG and will be out Thursday with an ankle injury.

Spurs at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 122, Spurs 107

Moneyline

PASS.

The Spurs without their best player against 1 of the best teams in the Western Conference doesn’t sound like a great combination for the road side. Neither team is worth a play on the moneyline here.

Against the spread

LEAN KINGS -11 (-110).

Wembanyama brings an unparalleled size to the court, and he went for 19 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 steals the last time these teams played. His absence will sting and open up the court for Fox to operate. The Spurs are just 4-6 ATS in their last 10 road games.

The Kings haven’t covered well as double-digit underdogs, but the absence of Wemby will unlock the potential for C Domantas Sabonis to get easy buckets in the paint. Expect the home side to take this one with ease and back KINGS -11 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 237 (-112).

The Under is a strong play for both sides. The Kings have scored 110 or fewer in 2 of their last 4 games and have traded off going Over and Under in 9 straight games, most recently going Over in their win against the Lakers Wednesday.

They are also on the 2nd night of a back-to-back and may not push the tempo if they’re leading by a sizable margin. The Spurs have gone Under in 4 of their last 5 games and are 3-14-1 O/U in their last 18 games. Back UNDER 237 (-112).

San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The San Antonio Spurs (13-48) and Houston Rockets (26-34) meet Tuesday. Tip-off from Toyota Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Spurs vs. Rockets odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Spurs are seeking a 3rd straight win, something they have not done all season. They upset the Oklahoma City Thunder 132-118 at home as 11-point underdogs Thursday and beat the Indiana Pacers 117-105 at home Sunday as 6.5-point underdogs.

The Rockets last played Saturday, snapping a 3-game losing streak with a 118-109 road win over the Phoenix Suns as 9-point underdogs. They are 2-5 in their last 7 games.

Spurs at Rockets picks and predictions

Prediction

Rockets 113, Spurs 105

Moneyline

The Spurs have not won 3 games in a row all season. They are 6-27 on the road this season and have lost 5 straight games overall and 9 of their last 10 on the road.

Meanwhile, Houston (-300) is 20-10 at home; 20 of its 28 wins this season have been at home. It has won 3 of its last 4 games at home.

The home team has won in both meetings this season — the Rockets 93-82 as 9-point favorites Dec. 11 and the Spurs 126-122 in OT as 3.5-point favorites Oct. 27.

With this home-road disparity, and especially with Webanyama possibly not playing, there is not a reason to bet the Spurs for the upset.

That said, -300 odds is not a good bet on the Rockets.

PASS.

Against the spread

Both teams are much better bets to cover the spread than to win games. The Spurs are 30-31 ATS with only 13 outright wins, while the Rockets are 31-28-1 ATS with 28 outright wins.

The favorite covered the spread in both meetings earlier this season.

The Spurs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games and have covered the spread in 3 of their last 4 losses. They are 15-17 ATS as road dogs.

But Houston is 9-5-1 ATS as a home favorite.

BET ROCKETS -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

In 2 previous meetings, the totals were 248 and 175.

The Spurs have allowed 118 or more in 4 of their last 6 games.

The Rockets have allowed an average of 107 points per game in their last 4 wins. They have scored more than 114 points just once in their last 10 games.

BET UNDER 228.5 (-110).

Indiana Pacers at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Indiana Pacers at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Indiana Pacers (34-27) and San Antonio Spurs (12-48) meet at Frost Bank Center Sunday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pacers vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Pacers lead 1-0

The Pacers are coming off a 129-102 loss at the New Orleans Pelicans Friday as the Under (239) hit. Indiana allowed 48 points in the 1st quarter, which tied a franchise record the Pelicans, and failed to cover as a 5.5-point underdog.

The Spurs shocked the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 132-118 straight-up win as 11-point home underdogs Thursday. C Victor Wembanyama and G Devin Vassell each had 28 points as the Over (238) cashed, ending a 2-0-1 streak to the Under for the Spurs.

In a Nov. 6 meeting, the Pacers covered as 8.5-point home favorites with a 152-111 rout of the Spurs as the Over (237.5) hit. G Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 23 points and 8 assists.

Pacers at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 125, Spurs 115

Moneyline

The Pacers (-250) should bounce back after losing by 27 last time out, but it’s easier to beat markets that are -110 on both sides.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

The Spurs are coming off covers against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City, but they have not covered in 3 straight games since Jan. 19-22. San Antonio may come out flat after beating a top-3 team record-wise in the West as a double-digit underdog.

The Pacers, on the other hand, are in a good spot to bet coming off an embarrassing loss at the Pelicans. Indiana already blew out the Spurs in the Nov. 6 meeting, and Sunday’s may look very similar.

BET PACERS -6.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under is 12-3-1 in the Spurs’ last 16 games, and the Over hasn’t hit in back-to-back games for San Antonio since a 4-game run to the Over from Jan. 19-24.

Indiana just gave up 48 first-quarter points last time out and should come out more focused defensively to avoid getting embarrassed in a 2nd straight game.

BET UNDER 243.5 (-115).

Spurs at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 121, Spurs 112

Moneyline

The Suns have beaten the Spurs 9 straight times. They scored 126 points on Saturday without Beal or Booker while the Spurs have given up over 120 points in all 3 games this season.

But betting the Suns at -300 isn’t worth the action.

The Suns are 3-0 ATS to start the season. They have beaten the Spurs by at least 10 points in their last 3 meetings.

Spurs at Clippers picks and predictions

Prediction

Clippers 115, Spurs 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Clippers have 2 developed stars that have played well this season. At home against a young Spurs team still figuring out how to maintain a lead, Los Angeles should win.

At -375, there’s no value backing it here.

Against the spread

BET SPURS +8.5 (-110).

The Spurs should’ve covered against the Mavericks and held a lead for most of that game. They have the talent to hang close with the Clippers and have the size behind No. 1 overall pick F Victor Wembanyama, who is averaging 2.0 blocks a game, to ensure shots around the rim are difficult.

The Spurs lost to the Jazz Friday and may struggle to find offense after George and F Kawhi Leonard. The Spurs played well enough against the Mavs to assume they can keep this game within 9 points.

Take SPURS +8.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 227.5 (-110).

The Clippers are shooting a league-best 52.7% from the field, and the Spurs are shooting 50.3% from the field, the 6th-best percentage in the league. Those will cool off, especially as no team topped 48% for the entire season last year.

Both teams also rank in the bottom 10 in turnovers per game, so this could be a sloppy one. Assuming these teams come back to reality after both have started 2-0 O/U, back UNDER 227.5 (-110).

Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Houston Rockets (0-1) meet the San Antonio Spurs (0-1) Friday in a battle of Southwest Division teams. Tipoff from Frost Bank Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Rockets vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; tied 2-2 last season

Houston was routed 116-86 in its season opener Wednesday night against the Orlando Magic, failing to cover as a 4.5-point underdog. The Rockets were sloppy as they had 19 turnovers and committed 24 fouls. Houston was also dominated on the glass, being outrebounded 57-31.

San Antonio lost 126-119 to the Dallas Mavericks in its season opener Wednesday, failing to cover as a 4.5-point underdog. San Antonio turned the ball over 19 times to Dallas’ 12, with many of them being unforced errors. The Spurs had trouble preventing scoring in the paint, due to rookie standout F/C Victor Wembanyama being in foul trouble.

Rockets at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Spurs 105, Rockets 100

Moneyline

BET SPURS (-120).

Houston is trying to incorporate a lot of new pieces into its scheme, and that showed in the blowout loss to Orlando. Houston could not get anything going offensively in the loss and I expect to see that continue, to a lesser-degree, here. The Spurs were a few bad turnovers and missed Luka Doncic shots away from winning that game, so I have no reason to believe they will look worse vs. a Houston team that looked awful in its season opener.

Against the spread

LEAN SPURS -1.5 (-110).

San Antonio struggled a bit on the defensive side of the ball vs. Dallas, but luckily for the Spurs they don’t have to worry about guarding Doncic or Kyrie Irving in this game. Houston’s offense was abysmal vs. Orlando as the team’s 3-highest scorers all totaled only 14 points.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 227.5 (-110).

San Antonio does have some things to figure out defensively, but if Wembanyama can find a way to stay out of foul trouble the team will have success protecting the paint. With Houston’s offense struggling vs. an Orlando team with very few plus defenders I expect more of the same here. Houston has a lot to figure out and I expect it to take some time before we see noticeable improvement from its offense.

Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs open their 2023-24 NBA regular seasons Wednesday at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mavericks vs. Spurs odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Mavericks won 3-1 last season

The Mavericks re-signed Kyrie Irving to a 3-year deal this past offseason while also re-upping with Seth Curry, keeping the core of the team together  around superstar Luka Doncic. The team also added some quality depth pieces in Dante Exum and Grant Williams, while bringing back Dwight Powell.

The team got younger with the additions of Duke rookie Dereck Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper in the draft, while jettisoning wing player Davis Bertans.

For the Spurs, they landed potential generational talent Victor Wembenyama with the No. 1 overall pick. San Antonio hopes to ride him from a 22-60 record, and the basement in the Southwest Division, to respectability for the proud city and franchise.

Mavericks at Spurs picks and predictions

Prediction

Spurs 114, Mavericks 111

Moneyline

The SPURS (+140) are a solid value as San Antonio turns the page on dark times, and begins the Wemby Era at the newly christened Frost Bank Arena.

The Mavericks (-165) won 3 of the 4 regular-season meetings in 2022-23, but San Antonio didn’t have the towering Frenchman clogging up the paint, and Dallas has some banged up stars emerging from the preseason.

Doncic practiced twice this week, but wouldn’t commit to playing the opener due to a strained left calf. If he can’t go, that’s a major problem. And Irving is dealing with a wonky groin, and if the past is any indication, he isn’t exactly keen on playing through nagging injuries.

Against the spread

The SPURS +3.5 (-110) are worth a look catching nearly 2 buckets, if you just can’t bring yourself to take San Antonio straight up.

The Mavericks -3.5 (-110) are nicked up a little, and even if Doncic and Irving are available, I really like San Antonio to begin this new era in style. It will be interesting to see how Wemby jells with Jeremy Sochan, Devin Vassell and the rest of the young, emerging stars down south.

Over/Under

UNDER 229.5 (-110) is the play in this Lone Star State battle.

There’s a new sheriff in town in the Alamo City, and this isn’t going to be a defensively-challenged team literally getting dunked up for cheap points. San Antonio will make teams work much harder with the rookie altering shots down low.

For this opener, which focuses a lot on the No. 1 overall player drafted, let’s take WEMBENYAMA – OVER 24.5 POINTS + REBOUNDS (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook in the “Player Pts + Reb” prop section.
