Watch: Tyler Huntley’s clutch game-winning drive leads Ravens win over Bears

Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley led a clutch game-winning drive to propel the team to a win against the Bears

The Baltimore Ravens were down 13-9 against the Chicago Bears with less than two minutes left in the game when quarterback Tyler Huntley led a clutch game-winning drive to lead the Ravens to a 16-13 win.

It was a five-play, 72-yard drive, but the play that set up the eventual game-winning touchdown run was a 30-yard pass from Huntley to wide receiver Sammy Watkins. It was due to a busted coverage, but it was a crucial play that ended up setting up the Ravens’ offense at the four-yard line.  On the next play, running back Devonta Freeman ran the ball in for what would end up being the game-winning touchdown.

It was Huntley’s first-career start in the NFL, and he was efficient throughout the contest but was sacked six times.  The offense struggled overall throughout the game, with Justin Tucker making three fields goals.

Huntley saved some of his best plays for last to set up the Baltimore for the win, which is important in keeping the AFC North lead.

Ravens announce inactives for Week 10 matchup vs. Dolphins

The Ravens announced their inactives for Week 10 against the Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens will play the Miami Dolphins on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 10. The team announced their inactives prior to kickoff, and some good news is that Baltimore receiver Sammy Watkins is indeed active for the contest, so quarterback Lamar Jackson and the offense get a boost with the addition of the veteran wideout. He will definitely help fellow receivers Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman by taking some attention away from them.

In a surprise move, the injury-riddled secondary has Ar’Darius Washington inactive tonight.  The Ravens are already thin at the safety position so there was potential for Baltimore to activate the undrafted rookie free agent, but he instead remains on the inactive list.

Latavius Murray is also inactive for another week, but this is probably just a precaution so that he can be 100% healthy by the time the Ravens play the Chicago Bears in Week 11.

Baltimore has a pretty tough schedule after the Bears game, so it would be great for Murray to be good to go for the divisional matchups against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns in a three-week stretch.

After missing multiple games with an injury, it looks like a former Clemson star will return to action in the NFL on Thursday night.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Sammy Watkins is officially listed as questionable for the team’s “Thursday Night Football” game at the Miami Dolphins, though he is expected to play after moving really well as a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.

Watkins has missed the last three games after injuring a thigh in Week 5. In his first season with Baltimore, the former Clemson All-American has 18 catches for 292 yards in five games.

The game between the AFC North-leading Ravens (6-2) and the Dolphins (2-7) kicks off at 8:20 p.m. and will be televised on FOX/NFL Network.

Ravens release final injury report for Week 10 matchup vs. Dolphins

The Ravens released their final injury report on Wednesday ahead of a Thursday night matchup with the Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens are currently 6-2 and atop the AFC North as they travel to Hard Rock Stadium to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 10 of the 2021 season. The last time these teams met was two seasons ago, when the Ravens won 59-10 with quarterback Lamar Jackson throwing for five touchdowns.

On Wednesday, the Ravens released their final injury report of the week. The practice was a walk-through, so the injury report is a practice estimation.

Tight end Nick Boyle (knee), who could make his season debut on Thursday, was limited in practice and is questionable. Defensive tackle Brandon Williams (shoulder) did not participate in practice and is also listed as questionable.

Wide receiver Sammy Watkins (thigh), wide receiver Marquise Brown (back) and cornerback Tavon Young (knee) were full participants. Brown and Young don’t have an injury status ahead of the contest, while Watkins is listed as questionable.

Closing out the report is running back Latavius Murray (ankle) and offensive lineman Patrick Mekari (ankle) who did not participate. Both are doubtful after missing a full week’s worth of practice.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson explains what South Florida connection means to him

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson explained what his connection to South Florida means to him

The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins in Week 10 of the 2021 season. It will be Baltimore’s first time back in South Florida since 2019, where the Ravens demolished the Dolphins by the final score of 59-10.

For a few of Baltimore’s players, the return to Miami will be a homecoming as they grew up around the area. One of those that have a connection to the South Florida area is quarterback Lamar Jackson. When the fourth-year signal caller was asked about how much pride he takes in going back to South Florida knowing that a lot of successful football players have come fro there, Jackson explained his connection to his home, saying it means a lot to not only him, but the other guys from the area on the team.

“A lot. We have guys here on this team from South Florida – not just myself. It means a lot, because we know what we’ve faced down there. We know what we’ve seen, [and] we know how it is down there. We like to put on for where we come from and let other guys and little kids see us and have them wanting to do the same things we’re doing in a positive way.”

Jackson grew up in Pompano Beach, and has been very active in giving back to his community and being an active role model for children not only in the area he grew up in, but around the country and the world. A few of the other players who grew up in South Florida include quarterback Tyler Huntley (Dania) wide receivers Marquise Brown (Hollywood, FL), as well as Sammy Watkins (Fort Myers).

Jackson has talked about where he’s from on countless occasions, showing how much he cares about the place that helped shape who he is today. When he returns to South Florida to play football on Thursday against the Dolphins, he’ll be looking to put on a show for everyone watching.

Vikings vs. Ravens: Inactive players lists for both teams

Here are the Week 9 inactive lists:

The Vikings and Ravens both head into the Week 9 matchup without some key players.

Minnesota placed C Garrett Bradbury and G Dakota Dozier on the COVID-19/Reserve list earlier this week. Bradbury is set to miss a game for the first time in his NFL career. Dozier serves on the practice squad. However, Minnesota could have used him as depth on the interior this week with Bradbury out.

On Sunday, the Vikings added S Harrison Smith to the list. The Ravens are missing some players on both sides of the ball for the game.

Here are the Week 9 inactives lists for both teams:

Ravens announce inactives for Week 9 matchup vs. Vikings

The Ravens released their list of inactives for their Week 9 game against the Vikings

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Minnesota Vikings in a big Week 9 matchup. Both teams will be looking for a win, as they were both left with a sour taste in their mouths following embarrassing losses the last time they suited up. Baltimore fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, while Minnesota lot to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

On Sunday before kickoff, the Ravens announced their inactives list. The majority of the list wasn’t a surprise, but the team will be without one offensive playmaker who a lot of people thought could take the field for the first time in a few weeks

In a surprising move for the, wide receiver Sammy Watkins is inactive against Minnesota. It seemed to many like he was on track to play after being out the last few weeks with a hamstring injury.  It would’ve been nice to see him play next to the duo of Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman for the first time.

The defensive line takes a bit of a hit with Brandon Williams also being inactive. Hopefully the defense can step up and put some pressure on Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Running back Latavius Murray and offensive lineman Patrick Mekari weren’t expected to play after missing practice all week. Undrafted free agent rookie safety Ar’Darius Washington rounds out the list.

The Vikings also released their inactives, and will be missing former Baltimore defensive tackle Michael Pierce. It was also announced before game time that All-Pro safety Harrison Smith was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, meaning that he will miss the contest.

Ravens WR Sammy Watkins ‘has a chance’ to play in Week 9

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave a positive update on the status of wide receiver Sammy Watkins for Week 9

The Baltimore Ravens enter their Week 9 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings rested after the team had its much needed bye week.

The Ravens hold a 5-2 record, leading the AFC North. Their hard work did not come without sacrifices, however. Baltimore has been one of the more injury-riddled teams in the NFL after losing three running backs and a Pro Bowl caliber cornerback before the season began. Despite the injury woes, the team is in position to potentially win their division and possibly make a Super Bowl run.

One of the Ravens’ playmakers that has been sidelined for the last few weeks is wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who exited early in Week 5 with an injured hamstring. After four weeks of rest, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave an update on the status of Watkins.

On Thursday and Friday Watkins returned to practice in limited fashion.

Watkins signed with the Ravens during the 2021 offseason to be a veteran receiver for quarterback Lamar Jackson. With Marquise “Hollywood” Brown lining up on the other side and tight end Mark Andrews getting work in the passing game as well, this passing offense could become even more dangerous to opposing defenses in the second-half of the season.

Ravens announce inactives for Week 7 matchup vs. Bengals

The Ravens announced their inactives for their Week 7 matchup against the Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 of the 2021 season. Baltimore comes into the contest as the first place team in the AFC North with a 5-1 record, while Cincinnati isn’t far behind as they sit in second place at 4-2.

On Sunday, the Ravens announced their list of inactives for the game, with a few big names headlining the list in running back Latavius Murray and wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Rounding out the inactives are defensive tackle Broderick Washington, outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson and safety Ar’Darius Washington.

Murray injured his ankle in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers and didn’t practice all week. Running backs Devonta Freeman, Le’Veon Bell, and Ty’Son Williams will pick up the production in his stead. Watkins hasn’t played since Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, and will be missed as a steady veteran presence on the field.

Washington, Ferguson and Washington were all inactives last week against the Chargers as well.

Ravens release final injury report for Week 7 matchup vs. Bengals

The Ravens released their final injury report on Friday ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens have faced a lot of adversity this season when it comes to losing players to injuries. Despite losing many key contributors for varying amounts of time, the team has brought in plenty of solid veterans to make up for big amounts of production, currently holding the No.1 seed in the AFC with a 5-1 record.

On Friday, the Ravens released their final injury report ahead of a Week 7 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore will unfortunately have a couple big name players out of action on Sunday.

Headlining the list and not suiting up in Week 7 are running back Latavius Murray (ankle) and wide receiver Sammy Watkins (thigh). Murray will miss his first game of the 2021 season and Watkins will not suit up for the second consecutive week.

Players who were limited in practice and hold a questionable tag for Sunday is center Bradley Bozeman (back), linebacker Patrick Queen (thigh) and tackle Alejandro Villanueva (knee). Cornerback Tavon Young (knee) was a full participant in practice and is also questionable for Sunday.

Rounding out the report is defensive end Calais Campbell and outside linebacker Pernell McPhee who had a rest day. Their status for Week 7 should not be in jeopardy.
