There’s no feeling in sports quite like connecting on a pitch and knocking it out of the yard, and that moment deserves an equally theatrical celebration.
Novel home run celebrations in MLB are always a treat to witness, and in Monday night’s game against the Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle took things up a notch with one of the more creative celebrations we’ve seen.
After crushing a two-run bomb in the bottom of the first inning to give his team a 2-1 lead. When Mountcastle returned to the dugout after hitting his second homer of the season, he was greeted by a celebratory beer funnel and proceeded to chug an entire water bottle through it.

That’s certainly one way to stay hydrated after a celebratory trot around the basepath.
Mountcastle was batting .243 coming into this game as Baltimore is off to a 4-5 start, but when it comes to creative home run celebrations, he’s batting 1.000.
