Notre Dame football will have two new voices during its radio broadcasts this fall

A few changes to the Irish radio booth for the fall

It’s takes a special broadcaster to be able to call a game on the radio, especially considering they have to paint a picture we can’t see.

For the last six years, [autotag]Paul Burmeister[/autotag] has been the radio voice of Notre Dame football. However, he is moving into an expanded role with NBC Sports. The open play-by-play spot has been filled by [autotag]Tony Simeone[/autotag], who is coming off broadcasting the Paris Summer Olympics.

Simeone will be joined by [autotag]Ryan Harris[/autotag], former Irish offensive tackle, and new in-studio host [autotag]Johnny Soper[/autotag]. With two new voices and the expected success of the team, this should be a very exciting fall in South Bend on multiple fronts.

Congrats to Tony and Johnny on their promotions, and we wish Paul the best of luck with NBC Sports.

ChatGPT ranks top 10 offensive linemen in Notre Dame history

How many of these players do you remember?

Talk to any back who’s had a great football game, and they almost always will give credit to their offensive linemen. Those are the guys who make every explosive offensive play possible. They will do whatever it takes to hold off the attacking defense. They seldom get any glory compared to those backs and receivers, but no offense can function without them.

While every college football blocker is good, some are just so much better than others. So in light of that, we’ve asked AI writing tool ChatGPT to list what it believes are the 10 best to ever block for Notre Dame offenses. It doesn’t matter which position they played. They just have to have excelled at whatever it was.

This concludes us putting ChatGPT to work ranking Notre Dame players by offensive position. We’ve already ranked ChatGPT’s 10 best quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and tight ends. Now, we look at the offense’s unsung heroes. Here they are with the entries edited for accuracy:

Where in the world is Marcus Freeman: Mile High City Edition

What was Freeman up to in Denver and who did he meet up with?

A quick search of “Marcus Freeman is everywhere” on Twitter shows that the Notre Dame head football coach certainly isn’t scared to get up and go.  One minute he’s in South Bend and the next he’s at the White House.  Whether its recruiting, doing public speaking, or something in-between, Freeman is certainly active.

During the first week of May, Notre Dame’s athletic webpage started a blog to track Freeman’s whereabouts as he is booked with events nationwide this month that aren’t directly related to on-the-field activities.

Previously, we’ve followed Freeman as he took trips to the Under Armour headquarters, to visit a national champion basketball coach, and trips to Dick Vitale’s extraordinary fundraiser and the Kentucky Derby.  After having a week free of travel where did Freeman start things back up earlier this week?

To the Mile High City we go…

Broncos Super Bowl 50 champion Ryan Harris to call team’s preseason games

Ryan Harris will join Steve Levy and Chad Brown in the broadcast booth to call Broncos preseason games on 9News this month.

Brian Griese left the broadcast booth this year to join the San Francisco 49ers as a quarterbacks coach, leaving 9News to look for a replacement to call Denver Broncos preseason games alongside Steve Levy.

9News announced earlier this week that Levy (play-by-play) will return to call Broncos games this summer, as will Chad Brown (color analyst) and Rod Mackey (sideline reporter).

The television network also announced a new addition to the commentary crew: Ryan Harris will join Levy and Brown in the both as a color analyst for the team’s three preseason games, replacing Griese.

Harris had a 10-year career as an offensive lineman in the NFL, including three stints in Denver (2007-2010, 2012 and 2015). Harris started at right tackle for the Broncos when they won Super Bowl 50, defeating the Carolina Panthers 24-10.

In addition to airing locally on 9News, all three of Denver’s preseason games will also be nationally televised on NFL Network this month.

Former Broncos OL Ryan Harris posts perfect response to viral tweet

Former Broncos offensive lineman Ryan Harris had a perfect response to a viral tweet on Twitter.

There’s been a viral tweet going around on Twitter that asks users to “describe your favorite sports moment, as boring as possible.”

Former offensive lineman Ryan Harris, who had three different stints with the Broncos during his career, posted a perfect response.

Harris, of course, is talking about quarterback Peyton Manning handing him the Vince Lombardi Trophy after the Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50. Harris then gave the trophy to outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

Harris was selected by Denver in the third round of the 2007 NFL draft. He went on to play four seasons with the Broncos before spending a year with the Eagles. He went to camp with Denver in 2012 but didn’t make their 53-man roster.

After spending time with the Texans and Chiefs, Harris returned to the Broncos in 2015 and helped them win the Super Bowl. After playing a final season with the Steelers in 2016, Harris retired from the NFL.
