WATCH: Justin Fields throwing during second practice of Bears rookie minicamp

This is not a drill! We have video of Justin Fields throwing at Bears rookie minicamp.

The Chicago Bears rookies returned to the practice field on Saturday for the second day of rookie minicamp. Following a thrilling first day of practice, which was headlined by Justin Fields’ impressive work, it was more of the same for Fields on Day 2.

While head coach Matt Nagy noted there were more mistakes on Saturday — due to the installation of additional plays — he was once again impressed by Fields.

Sure, the Bears released some brief highlights following the first day of practice, but it certainly wasn’t enough for a fan base starving for any footage of Fields at work.

On Saturday, members of the media were allowed to take video during the portion of practice where Fields was throwing. But there’s a new social media policy in effect where video from practice can only be available for 24 hours.

So, enjoy these videos of Fields throwing at rookie minicamp on Saturday while you can!

Bears QB Justin Fields is all business at rookie minicamp

Justin Fields has been putting in the work at Bears rookie minicamp, and it’s something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by his rookie teammates.

Justin Fields hasn’t taken a regular-season snap, but the excitement surrounding his potential as franchise quarterback of the Chicago Bears has been hard to temper. And that’s after just one rookie minicamp practice.

Fields has been all business at Chicago’s three-day rookie minicamp, where he’s been putting in the work to learn this offense and help put himself in a good position to compete for the starting quarterback job. It’s something that his rookie teammates are already noticing.

“He’s 100 percent about business,” offensive tackle Larry Borom told reporters Saturday. “It’s not fun and games when we’re on the field. It’s definitely 100 percent business and he wants to do the job at the highest level that he can. I try to echo that with my play and it works out.

“It sets the tone for the whole offense. If you see your quarterback, he’s not messing around, it makes everyone else want to work 10 times harder.”

Many have taken Fields’ serious demeanor to mean something entirely different than what it is, as many other fan bases joked that Fields wasn’t happy to be in Chicago following his reaction to being drafted by the Bears.

But, as Fields said on draft night, he’s not about talk. He wants to get to work and let his play do the talking, which is exactly what he’s been doing at rookie minicamp. And it’s something that his teammates are gravitating toward.

“Definitely, he gives out (a serious) demeanor on the field,” running back Khalil Herbert added. “I think guys gravitate towards it and it spreads to guys in the locker room. When we’re out there and he’s locked in, dialed in, making sure we’ve got the calls, got the plays, got the cadence. And it definitely helps, I feel like it runs a lot smoother, knowing what we gotta do, how to do it. To have that kind of clean, crisp mindset when we attack the line of scrimmage.”

Fields garnered praise from media members in attendance and his head coach, Matt Nagy, who was impressed by his mechanics, accuracy and his composure in his first NFL practice.

While the Bears have preached patience with Fields’ development, you have to believe — if Fields proves he’s ready — that he’s going to make it a lot tougher to ride the plan of sitting him behind Andy Dalton.

Bears hoping they’ve found their ‘true alpha’ in rookie QB Justin Fields

The Bears are loving Justin Fields’ confidence, and he might just be that “true alpha” that they’ve been looking for.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields is already drawing rave reviews from rookie minicamp. From his demeanor to his on-field performance, it’s hard not to get excited about the future of this franchise with Fields.

When speaking to the media on Friday ahead of rookie minicamp practice, Fields exuded confidence. Carrying the weight of expectations from a starved Bears fan base might seem overwhelming. But that’s nothing new for Fields, who has been in the spotlight since high school.

“I’m made for this,” he said. “I’m built for this. It’s nothing new to me.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said that the Bears are loving Fields’ confidence, and he might just be that “true alpha” that they’ve been looking for. After all, he’s already proven that during his collegiate and high school career.

“His comment this week that said, ‘I’m built for this kind of challenge,’ they love that,” Fowler said on ESPN Saturday morning, via Bleacher Report. “They want a true alpha; a guy who is going to answer the bell at every stop. He did that in the Clemson game last year at Ohio State, five-star quarterback in high school, and so, they’re just going to give him as much as he can handle. They like that he’s coming off of the 11th overall pick where he fell in the draft a little bit, they believe that will give him an edge.

“This team thinks they can win with Andy Dalton, with a defense and capable ball-control offense, but if this guy comes along as fast as they think he might be able to, he can be in the lineup sooner than later.”

Right now, the plan is to rest Fields behind veteran Andy Dalton, where Fields can develop without being rushed. But if Fields proves that he’s ready — and he earns the starting job in training camp — the Bears are going to have to reconsider resting Fields.

Watch: Trevor Lawrence takes Jags practice field for the first time

The Jags have started rookie mini-camp and Trevor Lawrence took the practice field at TIAA Bank Field for the first time in his career.

The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off their rookie mini-camp Saturday and their whole draft class is present. That includes first overall pick Trevor Lawrence, who is currently rehabbing from shoulder surgery but will be limited.

If it hasn’t hit fans that the Clemson star is a Jaguar by now, the video above certainly should do the trick.

It’s unknown exactly what Lawrence will do with the Jags, but Ian Rapoport has reported that he’s on track to be fully ready by the time training camp starts. Lawrence is almost exactly three months removed from surgery on his non-throwing labrum. He decided to have the issue addressed after declaring for the draft and had Dr. Neal ElAttrache of Kerlan-Jobe in Los Angeles to do the surgery on Feb. 16.

Lawrence was seen throwing last month before the draft, which is an encouraging sign for the rookie. He’ll likely be throwing full-time in the coming months with his recovery process going well, but for now it appears the Jags just want him to take in some NFL level coaching to get him comfortable.

Bears OT Teven Jenkins feels ready to go during rookie minicamp

Teven Jenkins believes his offseason work has prepared him for the challenge ahead as Bears rookie minicamp begins.

It’s every college player’s dream to make it to the NFL. For new Bears offensive tackle Teven Jenkins, that reality didn’t sink in until he was on the plane to Chicago.

When Jenkins met with the media ahead of Friday’s rookie minicamp practice, he revealed that he’s never seen a skyscraper and how he’s excited to eat some Chicago pizza.

But before he gets to explore the sights of Chicago, he’s focused on refining his technique and absorbing as much as possible during rookie minicamp, between virtual meetings and non-contact practices this weekend.

Jenkins, who the Bears traded up to select with the 39th overall pick in the NFL draft, says that he’s been studying the playbook in 30-minute increments as a way to test his recall.

“I definitely feel 100 percent ready, and it’s just because of my offseason workouts all the way up to this point and what I’ve been doing,” Jenkins said. “I’m working at my craft and my sets, and coming in here I’m starting to learn more technique, new technique. I’m trying to entwine that with what I’ve already learned, and I’m just trying to be ready.”

Jenkins was asked if any offensive linemen had reached out to him since he was drafted. And while Jenkins said several had, there was one in particular that he’s been talking with the most — guard Cody Whitehair.

“I had a few reach out to me,” he said. “The one I’ve been talking to mostly is Cody Whitehair. I’ve been talking back and forth with him. Basically he just reached out to see if I need a helping hand or anything, if I need extra help anywhere I can. All I can really say is I really appreciate him, and I really appreciate the things he’s doing for me.”

Following the release of left tackle Charles Leno, Chicago has a lot of faith in Jenkins to serve as their left tackle of the future, where he’ll be protecting the franchise in fellow rookie Justin Fields.

Lions release video highlights of 1st rookie minicamp

The first chance to see the new Lions players and coaches in action

There was real football going on at Detroit Lions headquarters in Allen Park on Friday. For the first time in months, players took to the practice field and worked with the new coaching staff in the first day of the Lions’ rookie minicamp.

It was the first opportunity to see the 2021 NFL draft class assembled by GM Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell. And minus first-rounder Penei Sewell, who is missing the minicamp weekend after testing positive for COVID-19, the entire class was present and out working on the sunny practice fields.

The Lions graciously posted some highlights and clips on their Instagram page. Fans looking to see what the new players look like in their new uniforms, this is for you.

Several of the rookies themselves quickly commented on the post, showing their thrill of being in Detroit.

The Washington Football Team opened rookie minicamp on Friday with 16 players participating, including every member of its 10-player draft

The Washington Football Team opened rookie minicamp on Friday with 16 players participating, including every member of its 10-player draft class.

It was the first time we’ve seen WFT’s rookie class in their new jersey numbers.

It was a small group of players for head coach Ron Rivera, but that worked out well, as he told Washington’s senior vice president of media and content, Julie Donaldson.

“What we’re really looking to do is look at these guys individually and assess where they are with their skillset,” Rivera said. “We want to see what can we do to help our players and have them work on as we go through this minicamp with them and the veteran minicamp.”

It was also the first time we’ve seen international free-agent tight end Sammis Reyes in a WFT uniform.

We also Washington’s other new tight end, fourth-round pick John Bates.

First-round pick Jamin Davis was pleased with his first official practice as a pro.

Dyami Brown certainly looked good in that No. 2 jersey.
