NFL fans roasted Robert Griffin III’s Netflix Christmas outfit with the odd cloth hanging out his pants

There was actually a good reason for the red cloth.

By and large, Netflix’s NFL Christmas coverage through the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader was a success. The broadcast moved along without a hitch, the Chiefs won and everybody was happy — unless they were rooting for the Steelers.

But once things kicked back to the studio crew of Kay Adams, Robert Griffin III, Manti Te’o and Mina Kimes ahead of Ravens-Texans, NFL fans finally found something to complain about: RG3’s outfit.

When Griffin stood up to do a breakdown on the full screen, it was hard not to notice his shiny shoes, colorful socks and the strange red cloth hanging from each of his pant legs. It was almost too distracting to even pay attention to what he was trying to show us.

With the new Superman trailer out, my mind immediately went to those being some kind of Superman-themed socks and the red cloth being a cape attached to the top of the socks. That guess wasn’t too far off. Griffin actually explained at the top of the broadcast that the socks had faces of his wife and daughters and the red cloth was a cape, meant to be a tribute to them being his heroes.

Regardless, a lot of people who only tuned in for the second game missed that explanation and flocked to social media to air their grievances.

I guess we were all thinking the same thing.

RGIII ranks his top 5 college football teams ahead of Week 4

Robert Griffin III ranks drops Georgia from the No. 1 spot in his latest edition of college football rankings

College football analyst and former Heisman winner Robert Griffin III has ranked his top five college football teams ahead of Week 4.

Week 4 features an interesting schedule including Tennessee at Oklahoma, Illinois at Nebraska, USC at Michigan, Utah at Oklahoma State, and UCLA at LSU. Robert Griffin III has a new No. 1 following last week’s action, which featured the Georgia Bulldogs narrowly defeating the Kentucky Wildcats.

The expanded College Football Playoff means that more teams will stay in contention for a playoff berth, but the national championship winner will probably not be a fringe playoff team.

ESPN analyst, former QB predicts Jalen Hurts as NFL MVP

Robert Griffin III predicts Jalen Hurts to win the NFL MVP

Robert Griffin III took the college football world by storm when he put the Baylor Bears back on the map in 2011 when he became a Heisman Trophy winner. As a result, Griffin was the No. 2 overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft to the now-Washington Commanders. During the 2012 season, Griffin was the NFL offensive rookie of the year.

Griffin’s career never quite panned out after an ACL injury, but he now broadcasts games for ESPN. Griffin has always been incredibly passionate about football and is very knowledgeable so it is fun to hear his NFL opinions.

This week, Griffin released his NFL MVP favorites, and former Crimson Tide quarterback, Jalen Hurts, is in the No. 1 position.

The Philadelphia Eagles are undefeated (8-0) on the year and Hurts has been a massive reason why. He is completing 68.2% of his passes for 2,042 yards and 12 touchdowns to only two interceptions. Hurts is also a huge piece of the Eagles rushing attack with 88 carries for 326 yards and six touchdowns.

The Eagles don’t have the most difficult schedule coming up, so as long as the Eagles continue to win, Hurts MVP chances will continue to increase.

Robert Griffin III ranks CFB’s top five before Week 8

Where does ESPN college football analyst Robert Griffin III rank the Georgia Bulldogs?

Former Heisman winner and Baylor star Robert Griffin III has ranked his top five college football teams before Week 8. Griffin III played in the NFL and is now an ESPN football analyst.

Two of Griffin III’s Heisman front runners, Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker and Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, are big reasons why their schools are in Griffin III’s top five.

A pair of Robert Griffin III’s top five teams have bye weeks in Week 8. However, Week 8 is still a very good week to watch some college football with several entertaining games.

Who does Robert Griffin III rank as the top five teams in the country? Where does he rank the Georgia Bulldogs?

RG3: Baker Mayfield needs a Joe Flacco-type of year

Super Bowl or bust out of Cleveland? Former Browns QB believes that is the case for the current Browns QB:

As long noted, quarterbacks and head coaches get too much of the blame and too much of the credit in the NFL. With that in mind, they get a lot of attention as well.

The Cleveland Browns, and most of their fanbase, thought they had answered their quarterback question after the 2020 season. While Baker Mayfield wasn’t a top-five quarterback during that year, he led them to the playoffs with smart play, accuracy and limited turnovers. Winning covered any warts in his game, as it does in most situations.

Unfortunately, injuries, inconsistent play and limited weapons led to a very bad 2021 season for Mayfield and the Browns. The quarterback question has risen once again. If winning covered warts, losing exposed any and every possible problem with the team.

A former Cleveland quarterback, and there are many of those, has weighed in on the situation. Robert Griffin III had a strong take on what Mayfield must do in 2022:

Joe Flacco ran the table setting himself up for a huge contract despite average, at best, play. If the Browns have that kind of run to the Super Bowl, it would be tough to move on from the quarterback.

If RG3 is right, Mayfield could play better than Flacco but lose his job because the team did not make it to the Super Bowl. If RG3 is right, 2022 is a Super Bowl or bust year for the former top pick.

Any chance Andrew Berry, Kevin Stefanski and the Browns organization thinks the way RG3 does about Mayfield’s 2022 season?

Robert Griffin III has Georgia player No. 2 on Heisman watch

RG3 showing some love to Jordan Davis

It takes one to know one, right?

ESPN college football analyst Robert Griffin III (RG3) knows what it takes to win the Heisman Trophy. He put America on notice during his incredible 2011 season in which he became the first Baylor player to bring the trophy home.

So when RG3 places Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jordan Davis No. 2 on his Heisman watch, you bet that’s going to grab my attention.

Jordan Davis may not be the biggest or fastest pla….oh wait, yes he is. At 6-foot-6, 340 pounds, Davis is an absolute freak of nature. He can do it all. Rush the passer, bat the ball down, chase down running back, etc.

He does not stuff the stat sheet, but his presence allows other players to do so.

He has 15 tackles for 1.5 sacks and 4 quarterback hurries this year. He has proven to be college football’s best defensive player.
