BREAKING: Wisconsin beats several blue bloods for a 2025 cornerback

Recruiting news:

Just because Wisconsin’s 2023 training camp began today doesn’t mean there can’t be recruiting updates.

Head Coach Luke Fickell dropped a bat signal earlier today, which ended up signaling the commitment of 2025 cornerback Remington Moss.

Moss is currently unranked by 247Sports, though had offers from top schools including Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina and Ole Miss. The 6-foot, 2-inch corner is yet another at the position to commit to Fickell, pointing towards the position being a real strength moving forward.

The Fredericksburg, Virginia native also has a Wisconsin connection: he is the cousin of former Badger running back Brent Moss.

Moss is the second commitment in Wisconsin’s class of 2025, joining quarterback Landyn Locke.

Remington Moss talks Rutgers football, summer visit plans

Remington Moss on his offer from Rutgers football last week.

Class of 2025 recruit Remington Moss was offered by Rutgers football last week while on a visit to the program. It was an offer that made a solid impression on Moss.

A 6-foot-2, 175-pound defensive back from Virginia,  Power Five from Duke, Maryland, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech among others. Last season for St. Michael the Archangel (Fredericksburg, VA), he had 16 passes defended and five interceptions as the Warriors finished 9-3 last season.

The offer from Rutgers came last Friday while on a visit to the Big Ten program.

“I was inside the athletic facility and coach Schiano told me I was a great fit and told me everything about F.A.M.I.L.Y., Trust (and) CHOP then offered me,” Moss told Rutgers Wire.

“It was a good feeling to be around such a good coach.”

Following a full day that included a tour and time with the coaching staff, Moss said that the offer may have been expected but still stood out.

“I felt great about it. Rutgers is a historic school for football and coach Schiano made it clear that he doesn’t want just anybody for his program,” Moss said.

“What stood out was the fact they stood on what they said which was if I came up they would offer me. Also, the fact they are so close to New York City and (Washington) D.C. – there’s a lot of NIL potential too.”

Moss is nearly done with his spring visits. This summer, he plans on attending a camp at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame offers 2025 defensive back while on campus

It was a trip worth making for the Virginian

It’s a big weekend for [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag], not just because of spring practice but due to the amount of high level recruits on campus.

One of those recruits, Virginia cornerback [autotag]Remington Moss[/autotag], was offered a scholarship while in South Bend. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 175 pound defender could end up outgrowing corner and end up as a safety.

Moss doesn’t have extensive offer list at the moment, but it’s a quality list for a player that has yet to be ranked by the 247Sports composite. Tennessee, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Wisconsin have already offered and now the Irish have joined the fold.
