Alabama shortstop Jim Jarvis wins Rawlings’ Gold Glove Award

Jim Jarvis has been Alabama’s shortstop for the past three seasons. The California native was awarded the Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Wednesday afternoon.

Alabama shortstop Jim Jarvis was announced as the winning recipient of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Wednesday. Jarvis was chosen over Arizona’s Nik McClaughry and Kentucky’s Grant Smith.

Jarvis has been known for making highlight plays in the infield for the Crimson Tide over the course of his college career. In four seasons, Jarvis has averaged a .965 fielding percentage. In 2023, he had a .974 fielding percentage.

Jarvis is a well-rounded shortstop and is likely heading to the MLB. He has one year of eiligibility remaining with the NCAA granting student-athletes a COVID year. However, all signs point toward Jarvis pursuing opportunities at the professional level.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama baseball program.
