ESPN draft analyst weighs in on Ravens rookie WR Tez Walker

ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller weighed in on Ravens’ rookie WR Tez Walker

The Baltimore Ravens selected wide receiver Tez Walker in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. The former North Carolina star hasn’t had many opportunities to show off his skillset during his rookie year. Still, Baltimore liked his contested catch ability and other traits enough to spend a mid-round pick on him in April.

When weighing in on Walker on The Ryan Ripken Show, ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller praised the first-year receiver and gave his projection on where he could end up on his NFL journey. He talked about how Walker can be a solid No. 2 wideout behind Zay Flowers, diving into his skillset and what he brings.

The Ravens have plenty of other wide receiver options that they can lean on this year, leaving Walker out of the picture unless a wave of catastrophic injuries hits. With that said, the team can take their time developing Walker to ensure he pans out into a viable option in their offense moving forward.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson confident in growing connection with WR Diontae Johnson

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is confident in growing his connection with wide receiver Diontae Johnson

The Baltimore Ravens acquired wide receiver Diontae Johnson from the Carolina Panthers in a deal to bolster their depth at the position. Baltimore didn’t have to give up much to bring in the veteran wideout, and because of that saw an opportunity to add a quality player at a low cost.

Johnson hasn’t done much in the way of production over his first two games in a Ravens uniform. However, Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is confident in the growing connection between the two as they continue to get on the same page and work to get to know eachother.

“I feel like it’s good, actually. We were throwing passes out here today – seven-on[-seven, team [drills]. We were looking pretty good, looking pretty solid.”

Johnson will have opportunties to contribute to what hopefully will be a deep Ravens run in 2024. It takes all new players an acclamation period with their new teams, and while Johnson is going through that right now, his skillset and ability as a separator can help Baltimore’s offense in a big way.

Former Ravens S Earl Thomas shares thoughts on 2019 season with team

Former Ravens safety Earl Thomas shared his thoughts on his 2019 season with the team

The Baltimore Ravens signed safety Earl Thomas to a big-money contract before the 2019 season. While Thomas was an incredible player for the team on the field, the signing was a disaster off of it, with Thomas being cut after just one season with Baltimore.

Thomas joined Josina Anderson on “The Exhibit,” where he talked about his time with the Ravens, how it ended, and more. When bringing up the 2019 team, Thomas had a very interesting comment: While quarterback Lamar Jackson was Lamar Jackson, he let the team know that he himself was Earl Thomas.

It never felt like Thomas meshed with the Ravens off the field, and his fit inside of Baltimore’s culture always felt like it wasn’t completely there. While he helped anchor one of the best defenses in the NFL that year, the off-field baggage was too much to handle, leading to his release.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh weighs in on Steelers Patrick Queen, DeShon Elliott

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh weighed in on Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Patrick Queen and safety DeShon Elliott

The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have seen many of their players cross sides in their rivalry. From stars to role players and everything in between, plenty have changed allegiances and tried their hand at being the enemy.

A few former Ravens players who are now current Steelers include inside linebacker Patrick Queen and safety DeShon Elliott. When asked about the duo, head coach John Harbaugh said that they’re playing at a high level in roles they’ve always been good in.

“I just think they’re defense is playing really well. They have roles for their guys [and] every piece fits in a way that they want it to fit. Those two guys, specifically, are playing at a high level [and] doing the roles that they’ve always been good at. You see ‘Pat’ [Patrick Queen] play, and you see DeShon [Elliott] play – that’s the type of stuff that they’ve always done well. They did it well here as well, so they’re playing well.”

Queen and Elliott will be looking to get the better of their former team for as long as they’re in Steelers uniforms. However, the Ravens won’t allow that to happen so easily, especially when they have to go up against a historic offense.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman on Diontae Johnson settling in: ‘It’s been amazing’

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman talked about wide receiver Diontae Johnson settling in with the team

The Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver corps has stepped up to the plate in a big way during the 2024 season. Players such as Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman have performed well, while others have also had their moments.

Bateman was asked about the acquisition of a new wide receiver, Diontae Johnson, who hasn’t had much of an impact since coming over from the Carolina Panthers. However, Bateman sang Johnson’s praises, saying it’s been “amazing” having the veteran settle in and calling him a phenomenal football player.

“It’s been amazing. Diontae [Johnson] is a phenomenal football player; we’re glad to have him. He definitely gives us more weapons, [and we can] be more creative with our offense. [I’m] definitely excited to see what we do with him and do with this offense.”

Johnson will suit up for his third game in purple and black on Sunday against his other former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. A revenge game could be incoming, as he certainly has all the tools to put his talents on full display in Baltimore if given the opportunity.

Tom Brady continues heaping praise on Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady continues to heap praise on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens drafted quarterback Lamar Jackson in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. Ever since, he has gone on to become one of the best quarterbacks the league has ever seen, evolving his game each year.

One of the legendary quarterbacks who has always had Jackson’s back is Tom Brady, who had massive success in the NFL. Brady gave out awards for Week 10’s action, and Jackson earned praise for his performance against the Bengals.

Jackson is well on his way to winning his third MVP and has had an unforgettable season so far. The respect he’s earned across the league spans far and wide, but Brady has always been in his corner.

Legendary NFL head coach shares his thoughts on Ravens, Steelers rivalry

A legendary NFL head coach shared his thoughts on the Ravens and Steelers rivalry

The Baltimore Ravens are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a big Week 11 matchup. The showdown will feature two teams with aspirations for first place in the AFC North. Pittsburgh currently holds the lead at 7-2, with Baltimore not far behind at 7-3.

On the Pat McAfee Show, legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick was asked about the Steelers and their season so far. He mentioned their matchup against the Ravens as a good test, saying the two teams don’t exchange Christmas cards due to their rivalry.

Both teams have seen plenty of success in 2024, which is one of the many reasons their matchup should be one of the best of Week 11. There is a massive amount of history in the rivalry between Baltimore and Pittsburgh, with another chapter set to be added on Sunday.

Ravens WR Diontae Johnson discusses being on other side of Steelers rivalry

Ravens wide receiver Diontae Johnson discussed being on the other side of the Steelers rivalry

The Baltimore Ravens traded for wide receiver Diontae Johnson at the 2024 NFL trade deadline. Although he has yet to produce in a big way for his new team, he’s been getting acclimated and up to speed since arriving a few weeks ago.

Johnson played for the Pittsburgh Steelers until this season and is now experiencing what it’s like to be on the other side of the rivalry with Baltimore. He weighed in on his feelings ahead of the Week 11 game between the two teams, mentioning that he’s never been in the away locker room before.

“Yes, it is. Just being back in that stadium, where it all started, it’s going to be different. I actually have never been in the away locker room [in Pittsburgh], so that’s going to be different for me, but I’m ready to get back there, just to see the good people that I made relationships with, but other than that, it’s a big moment for me.”

Johnson should see more opportunities this week, especially since the game could be an uncharacteristic shootout between the Ravens and Steelers. Johnson will be considering scoring a touchdown on his old team, which must be suitable for the long-time Pittsburgh wideout.

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell on his first game back from injury: ‘It felt good’

Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell shared his thoughts on his first game back since his major injury

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by the final score of 35-34 in Week 10, improving their record to 7-3. Baltimore had to come back on Cincinnati again after they had to do the same in their Week 5 victory over the Bengals but prevailed on a failed two-point conversion.

The Ravens got back one of their electric playmakers on offense in the contest with running back Keaton Mitchell, who suffered a brutal knee injury late in the 2023 season. While Mitchell didn’t play much or make much of an impact, but said that it felt good to get back on the field.

“It felt good. That was my first time putting on shoulder pads since December [of] last year, so it felt good. [It was] just like a warmup game. It felt good. I was blessed.”

Mitchell will be ramped up over the course of the rest of the year, and his speed and agility have a definite role. He will factor in with Derrick Henry and Justice Hill in Baltimore’s backfield rotation to form a three-headed monster as formidable as any in the league.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh calls Marlon Humphrey’s forced fumble vs. Bengals a ‘momentum changer’

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh called Marlon Humphrey’s forced fumble against the Cincinnati Bengals a ‘momentum changer’

The Baltimore Ravens were able to come back on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10 and pick up a key divisional win. They won by the final score of 35-34, escaping after a Cincinnati two-point conversion failed to take the lead late.

Baltimore looked like they were finished after going down 21-7 midway through the third quarter. The Bengals were driving and looking to put the game away, but Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey forced an extremely timely fumble, which head coach John Harbaugh called a “momentum changer”.

“It was definitely a momentum changer. We talk a lot about momentum. When you don’t have it, you have to find a way to get it, and when you get it, you have to try to find a way to build on it and extend it. That’s the real thing. Marlon [Humphrey]’s play there was big, but offensively, we just couldn’t get started. We had way too many first-play-of-the-drive problems. Whether we didn’t execute great, or whether we had pre-snap penalties that brought it back – those kinds of things were just not good, and we couldn’t get started. When you can’t get started, then it’s hard to get anything going, because you don’t have enough plays to do it.”

It’s unclear how the game would have turned out without Humphrey’s big play, but it represented a massive turning point in the contest. The offense found their spark after the play, and never looked back en route to picking up their seventh victory of the season.
