NFL team win total best bets: How many games will the Los Angeles Rams win in 2020?

Assessing the Los Angeles Rams’ projected win total for the 2020 NFL season, with best bets for their Over/Under.

How many games will the Los Angeles Rams win in the 2020 NFL season? We look at BetMGM‘s projected win total and the Over/Under odds, while looking back at the 2019 season and key offseason roster changes.

Los Angeles Rams’ 2019 season

After making it all the way to the Super Bowl two seasons ago, the Rams regressed last year. They went 9-7 and missed the playoffs for the first time under head coach Sean McVay. The offense took a step back, and the defense was too inconsistent on a weekly basis.

The Rams performed better against the spread than they did straight up, going 10-5-1 ATS, but their 2019 campaign left a lot of fans disappointed.

Los Angeles Rams’ 2020 offseason changes

The Rams underwent a lot of changes this offseason. Wade Phillips was let go as their defensive coordinator, and McVay hired an offensive coordinator in Kevin O’Connell.

Most notably, though, the team cut RB Todd Gurley and OLB Clay Matthews, and traded WR Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans. They lost OLB Dante Fowler Jr. and ILB Cory Littleton in free agency, but also signed DT A’Shawn Robinson and OLB Leonard Floyd.

In the draft, the Rams began to replace Gurley and Cooks by selecting RB Cam Akers and WR Van Jefferson with their first two picks.

Projected wins: 8.5 / OVER: +105 / UNDER: -125

With a line of -125 for the under, BetMGM doesn’t have much confidence in the Rams winning more than eight games next season. When looking at their roster and their opponents in 2020, it’s not that hard to find a minimum of nine wins for the Rams.

They benefit from facing the NFC East, which has the New York Giants and Washington Redskins in it. The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets figure to struggle next season, too, and the Chicago Bears don’t know who their quarterback will be.

The biggest hurdle for the Rams is having to play six games against the NFC West, which could again have three playoff teams in 2020. Even with a difficult divisional schedule, the Rams should finish better than 8-8.

Bet the OVER 8.5 (+105) for them to go at least 9-7 after revamping their roster.
