DE Tyree Wilson, G Jackson Powers-Johnson return to practice for Raiders

It’s take three for Raiders rookie guard Jackson Powers-Johnson. The second round guard didn’t show up on the injury report for the first time this season. Giving the round two pick a shot to see his first game action this week.

Powers-Johnson missed the first two games with an unknown illness after missing all of camp and preseason with an undisclosed injury.

Also returning to practice for the Raiders was DE Tyree Wilson who suffered a sprained knee early in the season opener against the Chargers. Wilson was limited in practice, so it remains to be seen if his return to practice will mean he is ready to play Sunday when the Panthers come to town.

Missing from practice was Divine Deablo (oblique/concussion) and DeCamerion Richardson (hamstring). Several others were limited, which means their status will be something to monitor as the week goes on.

The Panthers had two players missing with injury Wednesday including DE A’Shawn Robinson (knee) and DT Sky Tuttle (foot).

Ravens lose 1st round rookie cornerback to injury ahed of Week 2 vs Raiders

The final injury report is out. And with it the revelation that both teams will be without a drafted rookie cornerback.

The Ravens’ loss is more significant as they will be without first round cornerback Nate Wiggins who was lost to a neck injury and concussion this week.

The Raiders are without rookie fourth round pick DeCamerion Richardson who has a hamstring injury.

Also missing for the Raiders will be last year’s seventh overall pick Tyree Wilson who suffered sprained knee early in the season opener.

Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said rookie second round guard Jackson Powers-Johnson will be a game time decision. JPJ missed the opener with an illness that he is still dealing with and is officially Questionable for the game.

Additionally for the Ravens, LB Adisa Isaac (hamstring) is doubtful and LB Kyle Van Noy (eye) is Questionable.

The Thursday injury report is out and it brings a bit of good news for the Raiders — something previous injury reports were not bringing. First of all, they didn’t add anyone to the injury report. That’s a step up. Second, they actually upgraded a couple players.

Kolton Miller (knee) and Andre James (elbow) were both upgraded from Limited on Wednesday to full participants on Thursday.

Kolton Miller, Andre James both limited for Raiders on Wednesday

It’s fair to say that no two linemen on the Raiders had a rougher season opener than Kolton Miller and Andre James. A few days later and they may be still recovering from that ordeal.

Both Miller (knee) and James (elbow) showed up on the Raiders injury report on Wednesday. Both were limited.

Starting edge rusher Malcolm Koonce suffered a knee injury and was officially listed as limited.

With three drafted rookies limited the past two days, they were joined by second round rookie Jackson Powers-Johnson, bringing the total injured rookies to four along with top pick Brock Bowers, fourth round pick DeCamerion Richardson, and fifth rounder Tommy Eichenberg — all of whom are limited.

Powers-Johnson was listed with an illness, but he was already looking at not seeing much, if any, playing time due to missing all of training camp with an undisclosed injury. Which means his chances of playing in the season opener in Los Angeles only decrease now.

Not much changed for the Chargers. Wide receiver DJ Chark (hip) missed a second straight practice. Fellow receiver Josh Palmer showed up with a knnee issue, but he was still listed as a full participant. Only CB Tarheeb Still (hip) was limited.

On it, the Raiders have three players listed as limited; all rookies — TE Brock Bowers (foot), LB Tommy Eichenberg (knee), and CB DeCamerion Richardson (hamstring).

Notably absent from the injury report is rookie G Jackson Powers-Johnson, who came off the PUP list recently. He will be available, but isn’t expected to start at guard. Cody Whitehair will start there.

Bowers just returned to practice today after missing the past few weeks with a foot injury. Antonio Pierce says he expects him to play in the opener.

For the Chargers, just DJ Chark (hip) was missing from practice. CB Tarheeb Still (hip) was limited.

The Broncos ruled out two players — TE Chris Manhertz (illness) and T Mike McGlinchey (Ribs).

Raiders, Colts final injury report: RB Josh Jacobs ‘game time decision’

Raiders, Colts final injury report: RB Josh Jacobs ‘game time decision’

It looks like Raiders could be without two of their offensive starters again this week as they head to Indianapolis to face the Colts. Tight end Michael Mayer has been ruled OUT while running back Josh Jacobs is officially Doubtful.

“That’s going to be a game time decision, just be honest with you,” head coach Antonio Pierce said of Jacobs’s status for Sunday. I mean, no need to rush it. If he can go at one o’clock on Sunday, I’m happy with that.”

Both players missed all practices this week.

Both Mayer and Jacobs missed Monday’s game in Kansas City and the Raiders, while they won the game, weren’t able to do much on offense.

Zamir White had a big day replacing Jacobs, but 58 of his 145 yards rushing came on the final drive thanks in large part to the Raiders’ defense putting the Raiders in a position to run out the clock late.

Starting center Andre James (ankle) and right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (knee) were both Questionable after being limited in practice all week.
