Justin Fields “most talented I’ve ever come in contact with,” says private QB coach Quincy Avery

Private QB Quincy Avery told Paul Finebaum that Ohio State’s Justin Fields is the “most talented he’s ever come in contact with.”

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields flashed on the scene in a big way last year. He always had the physical attributes to be a game-changer, but he took those abilities and put them on full display as Ohio State’s starting quarterback last season after transferring from Georgia.

Count private quarterbacks coach Quincy Avery as a believer in Fields’ abilities as well. Avery is well known in the football community as an elite coach for developing quarterbacks. He’s tutored some of the most high-profile quarterbacks on their way to becoming household names. Dwayne Haskins, Jalen Hurts, and DeShaun Watson are just some of the names Avery has worked with.

While appearing on the Paul Finebaum show Thursday and had some extremely high praise for the Buckeye signal-caller

“I’ve worked with a lot a lot of really good quarterbacks,” Avery told Finebaum. “Justin Fields is the most talented quarterback that I’ve ever come in contact with. He has the ability to do everything with his arm — and then he’s also going to run a sub 4.4 forty. And he’s 228 pounds, he’s built like a rock, and his ability to process information, go through reads — all those things — it’s next level.

“So I really think that he’s going to be not only the Heisman front runner, but he’s gonna come away with the Heisman Trophy next year. And I hope that he has the ability to lead Ohio State to the national championship.”

It can’t get more complimentary than that, coming from a guy that’s seen so many elite gunslingers come through his program in Atlanta, GA. As long as Fields stays healthy, and the season goes off like we now expect, it should be  fun one in Columbus.
