Falcons update preseason schedule, announce joint practices

On Wednesday, the Falcons set the date for their final exhibition matchup and will hold joint practices with the Jaguars.

The Atlanta Falcons’ roster is starting to look very different than it did a year ago. Not only is former league MVP Matt Ryan gone after 14 seasons as the starting quarterback, the Falcons added two new starting wide receivers, multiple edge rushers and a Pro Bowl cornerback.

The NFL released its initial schedule for the 2022 season last week, but there were a few dates that had yet to be announced, including Atlanta’s preseason game against Jacksonville.

On Wednesday, the Falcons announced the date and time for their final exhibition matchup, along with joint practice dates with the Jaguars. Check out that and more in our Wednesday recap.

Denver Broncos 2022 Preseason Schedule

The Broncos will host the Cowboys and Vikings in preseason this summer.

Lost in the hubbub of the Denver Broncos’ regular-season schedule release on Thursday evening was the announcement of the team’s preseason games.

The Broncos announced their opponents on Thursday night, followed by finalized dates and times on Friday afternoon.

  • Week 1: vs. Cowboys (Aug. 13, 7 p.m. MT)
  • Week 2: @ Bills (Aug. 20, 11 a.m. MT)
  • Week 3: vs. Vikings (Aug. 27, 7 p.m. MT)

Television channels for Denver’s three preseason games are also yet to be announced.

All of the team’s preseason games will be broadcast locally on KTVD Channel 20, and the league might consider making one or more of the Broncos’ preseason games a nationally-televised contest on NFL Network.

Playing in prime-time in preseason would be an appropriate warmup for Denver given that the team has five prime-time games scheduled for the regular season, plus two more nationally-televised games (one in London and one on Christmas Day).

Cardinals’ preseason schedule features Sunday night home game

The Cardinals’ preseason opponents and one of the dates and times were announced Thursday along with their regular-season schedule.

The big deal of Thursday night was the release of the Arizona Cardinals’ full 2022 regular-season schedule. Among all that was a smaller announcement, which was their preseason schedule.

Because they have nine home games in 2022 (one will be played in Mexico City), their three-game preseason slate includes only one home game.

That home game will be played on a Sunday night in prime time. Their two road games have not been set in terms of day and time. They will face the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans.

They will hold join training camp practices with the Titans.

The Cardinals’ preseason schedule looks like this:

Cardinals 2022 preseason schedule

Preseason game 1: Arizona Cardinals at Cincinnati Bengals (Aug. 11-14)

Preseason game 2: Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals, Sun. Aug. 21, 5 p.m. Arizona time

Preseason game 3: Arizona Cardinals at Tennessee Titans (Aug. 25-28)

NFL Network to air every Chargers preseason game live in 2021

The Chargers’ three-game preseason slate will be aired on NFL Network.

The Chargers are just a little less than a month away from kicking off their three-game preseason slate, and you’ll be able to tune in to each one.

Starting on Aug. 14 when the Bolts face their hometown rival, Rams, NFL Network will broadcast the action live.

The decision to show every one of Los Angeles’ games comes by no surprise, considering they are one of the most highly-anticipated teams in the league, having a talented roster under first-year head coach Brandon Staley.

In addition, this will mark the second year at SoFi Stadium, the home of the Chargers and Rams, which will be played with fans in attendance for the first time.

It remains to be seen how much playing time the starters will receive, but there will be plenty of rookies and veterans fighting for rotational roles and just a spot on the 53-man roster.

Here’s a look at the preseason slate:

Chargers at Rams | Saturday, Aug. 14 | 7 p.m. PT.

Chargers vs. 49ers | Sunday, Aug. 22 | 4:30 p.m. PT.

Chargers at Seahawks | Saturday, Aug. 28 | 7 p.m. PT.

Miami Dolphins’ 2021 preseason schedule

Miami Dolphins’ 2021 preseason schedule

There was much to do about the NFL’s 2021 schedule release last night — a first look at what is sure to be a chaotic fall as teams look to once again climb the mountain and claim a Lombardi Trophy and join the ranks of one of the most exclusive clubs in all the game. For the Miami Dolphins, the path to the postseason isn now defined — and the gauntlet is firm early on. The Dolphins will play five games on the road in the first half of the season, with the three toughest divisional games, the team’s only west coast trip and a flight to London all included.

Which makes the Dolphins’ preseason schedule all that much more important in order to make sure this new-look offense is ready for what comes in September and October. And now we know what that schedule looks like, too.

Miami will twice be on the road for the preseason, a good teaser for what is to come in the first half of their season with all of the travel commitments.

Preseason Week 1: at Chicago Bears (1:00pm EST)
Preseason Week 2: vs. Atlanta Falcons (7:00pm EST)
Preseason Week 3: at Cincinnati Bengals (4:00pm EST)

Perhaps the biggest quirk about the Dolphins’ preseason schedule is that their home opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, will get a second look at Miami with a regular season showdown later in the year. Miami will need to be calculated about showing too many unique looks to Atlanta and then coming back to those reps when they are playing for keeps on October 24th.

Warriors 2020 preseason schedule set to begin on Dec. 12 vs. Nuggets at Chase Center

The Warriors will have the chance to return to Chase Center for game-action when the preseason begins on Dec. 12 against the Nuggets.

For the teams involved in the NBA’s restart inside the Orlando Bubble, the 2020 offseason has been a whirlwind. However, the Golden State Warriors have been away from the court for eight months.

After an extended layoff, the Warriors will make their long-awaited return to Chase Center in San Francisco for the start of the 2020 preseason. On Friday, the NBA announced the Golden State Warriors preseason slate would begin on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Chase Center against the Denver Nuggets.

Via @warriors on Twitter:

Following Golden State’s first preseason contest against the Nuggets, the Warriors will play a pair of road games against the Sacramento Kings on Dec. 15 and Dec. 17.

In the past, the preseason has served as a small tune-up for a team coming off a trip to the NBA Finals. Yet, Golden State’s stretch of three preseason games will provide an opportunity for a first look at Steve Kerr’s restructured rotation in the Bay Area.

Along with a healthy Stephen Curry, the preseason will feature the Golden State debuts of No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman and offseason addition Kelly Oubre Jr.

With limited group practice time available over the offseason, Curry, Wiseman, Oubre Jr, Andrew Wiggins and 31l have the chance to build chemistry in live-game action before the Warriors attempt to climb back into playoff contention in the Western Conference.

Broncos make it official: No preseason games in 2020

The Broncos have confirmed they won’t play any preseason games this summer.

As expected, the Denver Broncos — and every other NFL team — won’t play any preseason games this summer.

The news was expected but is now official after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed the news in a letter to fans on Monday. After Goodell’s announcement, the Broncos removed the preseason games on the schedule on their official website.

The league had originally planned to have teams play two games and later proposed one-game schedules but the NFLPA held firm with their desire to have no preseason games this year.

The players’ union wanted a longer training camp period with no preseason games to give players more time to get in shape before the regular season.

The Broncos were originally scheduled to play the 49ers (Aug. 15), Bears (Aug. 22), Rams (Aug. 29) and Cardinals (Sept. 3) in preseason. Fans who had tickets to those games will get refunds or future credit.

After preseason, Denver will trim the roster from 90 players down to 53 players (here’s our 53-man roster prediction). The Broncos might also trade a few players as the roster cuts deadline draws closer.

The Broncos will face the Titans on Monday Night Football in Week 1.
