Steelers host Oregon C Jackson Powers-Johnson, Notre Dame OT Blake Fisher for predraft visit

The Steelers are hosting two offensive linemen, Jackson Powers-Johnson and Blake Fisher, for predraft visits.

In case you haven’t heard, the Pittsburgh Steelers need a center. They’ve needed one since Maurkice Pouncey retired in 2021, but Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin attempted to stop the bleeding with a bandaid, and it clearly got messy with Kendrick Green and Mason Cole.

2024 is their opportunity to fix that and the majority of mocks have them taking a center with their first overall pick. The draft class is deep, which offers teams who need to address the position some flexibility.

But if the Steelers have their eye specifically on Jackson Powers-Johnson, they won’t likely be able to wait.

According to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Powers-Johnson is meeting with the Steelers today. He’s the first of a few centers who are expected to come in for the predraft process.

Notre Dame offensive tackle Blake Fisher, projected as a mid-round pick, is doing the same.

Steelers to host elite IOL Troy Fautanu for predraft visit

Troy Fautanu is one of the top interior offensive linemen in the 2024 NFL draft.

According to Bleacher Report NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, the Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting former Washington offensive lineman Troy Fautanu for a Top 30 visit ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

The Steelers are currently looking for a starting center and possibly offensive tackle and Fautanu has the athletic potential to be either one. Truly one of the most versatile linemen in this draft along with Duke’s Graham Barton, who has the skills to start at any spot on the offensive line and play there at a high level from Day One.

The Steelers released last year’s starting center, Mason Cole as a cost-cutting measure at the start of free agency. This was also due to Cole’s struggles last season. Pittsburgh is also scouting offensive tackles to allow Broderick Jones to move to the left and feel confident in his replacement. Pittsburgh released Chuks Okorafor leaving the Steelers thin at offensive tackle.

Ravens set to meet with Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ahead of 2023 NFL draft

The Ravens are set to host Ohio State wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba for a pre-draft visit

After signing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. over the weekend the Baltimore Ravens are looking to grow their stable of pass catchers even more in the upcoming NFL draft. The team is set to host standout Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba this week as they solidify their draft board.

Smith-Njigba was a key cog in the Buckeyes’ offense last year and is one of the most prized prospects in the 2023 draft class. His ability to make contested catches and rare athleticism have attracted the attention of scouts across the league, and some analysts have predicted that he will be the first wideout to come off the board when the annual selection meeting commences later in April.

Though their aspirations of securing his talents are certainly warranted, the Ravens will be lucky if Smith-Njigba falls far enough in the first round for Baltimore to make a play on him. Unless the team has a plan in place to trade up, Ravens fans should view this visit as nothing more than a formality for Baltimore, which is simply doing its due diligence on one of this year’s most promising wideouts.
