With spring ball approaching, there are some familiar names for Texas in new spots.
Although the Longhorns were able to add an abundance of talent through recruiting and even the transfer portal, not all of their reinforcements will be able to join them in the spring. This, along with Texas needing more depth at certain positions led to multiple players making a position switch this offseason.
With there being a few areas of concern heading into spring practices, 247Sports dove into the four players switching positions for Texas.
Although the Longhorns were able to bring in quite possibly the best offensive line class in school history, only one of the seven signees enrolled early for spring ball in four-star Cole Hutson. Taking this into consideration along with losing four offensive linemen during the offseason, Texas certainly needed to beef up the line for depth.
The other positions of concern were the two safety spots, as the Longhorns lost a total of four safeties during the offseason. This led to multiple players making the switch.
Here are the players that will be playing new positions heading into next season.
