Alabama MBB offers 2025 5-Star PG Meleek Thomas

2025 point guard Meleek Thomas recently received an offer from the Alabama coaching staff. Thomas is ranked as a top-10 prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Point guard Meleek Thomas of the 2025 class received an offer from Alabama on Wednesday. Thomas is ranked as a five-star by all major recruiting circuits.

Thomas plays for Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, Pennsylvania, and helped lead the school to a 31-1 record last season and the Class 4A state title.

He is well-equipped to fit into Nate Oats’ system. Thomas is listed at 6-foot-4, 175 pounds, according to 247Sports.

In the past, Alabama’s coaching staff tends to recruit guards that can score and defend. Thomas certainly fits that profile as he enters his junior year of high school.

Alabama MBB offers 2025 PG Kingston Flemings

2025 point guard Kingston Flemings received an offer from Alabama on Saturday morning. Flemings plays on the AAU circuit for the SA Future.

The Alabama coaching staff has already begun recruiting prospects from the 2025 class. One of the prospects that recently received an offer was point guard Kingston Flemings.

Flemings plays for William J. Brennan High School in San Antonio, Texas. As a sophomore, Flemings averaged 14.8 points per game, 5.7 assists per game, and 4.4 assists per game. He shot 51% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.

Thus far, he has received eight offers. Alabama and Baylor are the latest schools that have offered Flemings.

At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Flemings’ stature is quite similar to former Alabama point guard Jaden Bradley. Bradley stood at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds.

BREAKING: Alabama PG Jaden Bradley transferring to Arizona

Alabama point guard Jaden Bradley is transferring to Arizona, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. Bradley spent one season at Alabama.

Alabama point guard Jaden Bradley is transferring to Arizona. He confirmed the news on his Twitter account on Wednesday evening.

Bradley spent one season with the Crimson Tide. In 37 games, Bradley averaged 6.4 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game. He was the go-to guard off the bench for the majority of the season. Bradley flourished at attcking the rim and finishing on contested shots.

Bradley was regarded as a five-star out of high school. He chose Alabama over other programs like Arizona, Florida State, and Michigan. Bradley took an official visit to Arizona but ultimately chose to commit to Alabama.

Now, he will head to Tucson to play for a Wildcats program that has had a lot of success over the years. Interestingly enough, both teams will meet on December 20 in Phoenix. It will be interesting to see how Bradley performs against his former team.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama basketball program and its involvement in the transfer portal.

Alabama MBB offers 2025 PG Mikel Brown Jr.

The Alabama coaching staff recently extended an offer to 2025 point guard Mikel Brown Jr. Brown Jr. plays for Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas.

The Alabama coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 point guard Mikel Brown Jr. on Friday.

Brown Jr. plays for Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. As a junior, he was a part of a team that had several elite 2023 prospects like five-stars Layden Blocker and John Bol.

He is regarded as the top player in Kansas by every recruiting circuit for the 2025 class. In comparison to recent point guards at Alabama, he is relatively smaller in stature. Brown Jr. stands at 6 feet, 150 pounds.

He will have time to grow as he will begin his junior season in the fall. It will be interesting to see how Alabama’s coaching staff decides to pursue the Florida native. He is currently being pursued heavily by Kansas State. The Wildcats are the favorite to land Brown Jr. at 100% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM.

Alabama offers class of 2024 five-star point guard Dedan Thomas

Crimson Tide Hoops offer top-25 player in the 2024 class a scholarship

Nate Oats has changed the trajectory of Alabama basketball since he took over in 2019, especially on the recruiting trail. The Crimson Tide, not traditionally known for landing elite basketball talent, have had six five-star players in program history. Three of those six have been during Oats regime.

Dedan Thomas, the No. 4 point guard in the 2024 class, is Alabama’s next target as they recently extended an offer, according to Joe Tipton of On3. Thomas is a top-25 player in the class out of Henderson, Nevada and already holds offers from the likes of Arizona, Gonzaga, Houston and many more, so it will be an uphill battle to land his services.

Alabama has had a lot of success at the PG position in recent years with guys like Colin Sexton and Kira Lewis Jr. both becoming first-round picks.

While they are going through the NBA draft process, it is expected that Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly will both return to Tuscaloosa in the fall. However, I would imagine it will be the last season for both of them which would allow for Thomas to see playing time immediately in 2024.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Dedan Thomas and the 2024 recruiting class.

Former Alabama PG Jaden Bradley visiting with the Memphis Tigers

Former five-star recruit and Alabama player, Jaden Bradley, set to meet with the Memphis Tigers

The Alabama men’s basketball program will look much different in 2023 than it did this past year. The Tide lost all three assistant coaches to head coaching opportunities this off-season and the roster was purged by the NBA draft as well as the transfer portal.

One of the most surprising departures was former four-star recruit, Jaden Bradley. Coming out of high school, Bradly was a McDonald’s All-American as well as a top-25 player in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He was one of the biggest recruits Nate Oats has landed during his tenure in Tuscaloosa so it is definitely a tough loss for the Tide.

Bradley averaged 19.8 minutes a game and was good for 6.4 PPG and 3.1 APG. However, his inconsistency from the field was his downfall as he shot under 40% in 2022-2023.

Even though they are going through the NBA draft process, Oats is optimistic that Mark Sears and Jahvon Quinerly will return to Alabama next season. Bradley read the writing on the wall that he might get buried in the depth chart and has decided to pursue other options.

Earlier in the week Bradley met with North Carolina State, but today he will be meeting with the Memphis Tigers. With Penny Hardaway at the helm Memphis has become a very attractive landing spot for a lot of guys in the portal and I wouldn’t be shocked if this is where Bradley lands.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor Jaden Bradley’s potential transfer locations.

Alabama MBB reaches out to two-time CAA Player of the Year Aaron Estrada

Hofstra point guard Aaron Estrada entered the transfer portal and the Tide have already reached out

Hofstra point guard Aaron Estrada entered the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon, and a handful of programs have already reached out including the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Estrada began his college career at St. Peter’s in 2019. He spent one season playing for the Peacocks. He averaged 8.1 points per game and shot 40.5% from the floor.

He transferred to Oregon following his freshman campaign. Estrada played in just nine games for the Ducks while averaging 3.1 points per game.

After struggling to find his footing in the PAC-12, Estrada transferred closer to home to play for Hofstra head coach and former NBA guard Speedy Claxton.

Estrada spent the past two seasons as the focal point of the Pride roster. He was named as the CAA Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. As a senior, Estrada averaged 20.1 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 4.3 assists per game. He shot an efficient 47.8% from the field and 36.8% from three.

Alabama will have to out-recruit the likes of Arkansas, Kansas State, Tennessee, and Georgetown. The Tide previously landed a New Jersey native through the transfer portal in Jahvon Quinerly. Now, they are trying to do so again by recruiting Estrada.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama baseball program and its involvement in the transfer portal.

BREAKING: Alabama guard Jaden Bradley enters transfer portal

Alabama point guard Jaden Bradley is set to enter the transfer portal. He was a part-time starter for the Crimson Tide this past season.

Alabama point guard Jaden Bradley will be entering the transfer portal. Verbal Commits was the first to report the news on Twitter.

Bradley was a McDonald’s All-American coming out of high school. The New York native joined a Alabama recruiting class that finished ranked No. 3.

In his lone season with the Tide, Bradley averaged 6.4 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game. He started in 22 games for the Tide this past season. His most productive game came against Auburn in Alabama’s regular season finale. Bradley had six points, five rebounds, and four assists.

He flashed the ability to drive by defenders and make timely layups. Bradley was also a key piece to Alabama’s backcourt. One thing that Bradley struggled with this season was shooting from deep. He shot just 31.8% from the three-point line.

Bradley can explore his options and transfer in due time. However, he could elect to return to Alabama as well. Both options are on the table.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama basketball program and its involvement in the transfer portal.

2023 PG, Alabama signee R.J. Johnson requests release from National Letter of Intent

2023 three-star point guard R.J. Johnson requested a release from his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday night. Johnson signed with the Tide in November.

In what came as a surprise to many, 2023 Alabama basketball signee R.J. Johnson requested to be released from his National Letter of Intent on Tuesday. The news was first reported by On3’s Joe Tipton.

Johnson released a statement to Tipton that read, “After much prayer and counsel, it was not an easy decision but I asked for my release from my NLI from the University of Alabama. I want to thank Coach Oats and staff for granting me the special opportunity. I just feel right now it’s best for me to pursue other opportunities elsewhere.”

Johnson committed to the Crimson Tide back in August and eventually signed in November. He chose Alabama over other programs like Wichita State, Georgia, Florida Atlantic, and LSU.

The native of Huntsville, Alabama was the highest-ranked player in the state out of the 2023 recruiting class. He averaged 21 points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game, and 3.1 assists per game for Grissom High School.

Alabama could be on the forefront of potentially landing a transfer or receiving good news regarding a player returning. It just makes sense given the fact that Nimari Burnett entered the transfer portal and Johnson has re-opened his recruitment.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama basketball program as the offseason gets underway.
