The Arizona Cardinals were embarrassed at home in Week 4 by the Washington Commanders 42-14 as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels was fantastic and former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was relentless against Arizona’s hapless defense.

Cardinals-Commanders preview, predictions and best bets

Jess Root and Seth Cox preview the Cardinals’ Week 4 matchup against the Commanders and make predictions on latest podcast.

The Commanders are 2-1, have won two games in a row and have neither punted nor turned the ball over in those two games. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is coming off a career performance that earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Cardinals-Lions postgame reactions: Surprises, 3rd-down struggles, running game

Howard Balzer gives his thoughts on the Cardinals’ loss in the latest edition of the podcast.

The Arizona Cardinals fell to the Detroit Lions at home on Sunday 20-13. It was a disappointing but not surprising outcome.

Around the NFL, there were a number of wins by teams who were not expected to. In this edition of the podcast, Howard Balzer explains why we shouldn’t ever be surprised by anything in the NFL.

He also dives into the Cardinals’ loss and talks about two key areas that led to the problems — third downs and the running game.

The Cardinals were great on third down entering Week 3 and went 1-for-9, failing to convert on their final eight attempts.

They also got nothing from the run game from their running backs. He gives the numbers.

Many things have been said about Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as a special player for his production on the field. The comments from teammates, past or present, continue to carry a different weight and respect for the three-time Super Bowl champion.

New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu recently appeared on ‘The Richard Sherman Podcast’ to discuss his NFL experiences, including his tenure with the Chiefs.

“I knew Patrick Mahomes was going to be pretty good,” said Mathieu. “He’s one of those dudes that, he practiced how he was going to play. It was fun being his teammate. Every game, we had a chance.”

Mathieu has often praised defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, and in Sherman’s podcast, he continued his praise.

“Coach Spags, man, like, he was one of those coaches that really gave me the keys. He really allowed me to be that middle fielder, center fielder for that defense and really take control and own it,” said Mathieu. “Man, I was so proud to be able to have that opportunity and capitalize on it because we all want that opportunity.”

The Chiefs are scheduled to play Mathieu and the Saints in Week 5, and although they are on opposing sides, their respect should show during the contest.

What do we think of the Cardinals after their big win over the Rams?

Following the Arizona Cardinals’ fantastic performance on Sunday in a 41-10 win over the L.A. Rams, what are we to think of them now?

In this new edition of the podcast, cohost Seth Cox and I look back at the win and what we should think of them.

We look back at the great offensive performance. We go over the good from the defense and how they did exactly what they should have done against a third-string left tackle.

We also try to reestablish expectations for this team and what they can be, determining that how they do against the Detroit Lions will really be a true measure of what they can be.

We also look at the NFC West which is seemingly upside down. The Seahawks are undefeated and the Cardinals look good, while the Rams look like a disaster and the Niners are dealing with injuries and are coming off a loss.

The Cardinals haven’t beaten the Rams at home in 10 years.
