Cardinals-Bears Week 9 preview, picks predictions with Bears Wire

Bears Wire managing editor Alyssa Barbieri joins Jess Root on the podcast to preview Cardinals-Bears.

The Arizona Cardinals’ next opponents are the 4-3 Chicago Bears, who come to State Farm Stadium for a Sunday afternoon game to start their November schedule.

To preview the game, Bears Wire managing editor Alyssa Barbieri joined me on the podcast for the latest show.

We discussed the Bears’ start to the season, how the defense has been one of the league’s best, not allowing any team to score more than 21 points. We talked about their 4-0 record at home and 0-3 record on the road and how they haven’t scored fewer than 24 points at home and not more than 16 on the road.

She tells us about rookie Caleb Williams’ season thus far and why receiver Rome Odunze’s numbers, which are worse than Marvin Harrison Jr.’s for the Cardinals, have not been disappointing.

We spoke about the keys to victory and the key matchups and made predictions for the game.

Browns assistant GM Catherine Hickman talked Browns and NFL career on The Playcallers

Cleveland Browns assistant general manager Catherine Hickman (nee Raîche) went on The Playcallers podcast. She discussed her journey from the CFL to the NFL.

Cleveland Browns assistant general manager Catherine Hickman (nee Raîche) went on The Playcallers podcast earlier this month. The podcast, hosted by Jordan Rodrigue, had a widely applauded first season, deep-diving into the Shanahan-McVay coaching tree. This season, Rodrigue is interviewing rising front-office stars.

Hickman has been with the Browns for the past two seasons. She is the highest-ranking woman in a front office. Hickman is a popular General Manager candidate and will eventually get a shot at running an organization.

Hickman and Rodrigue spent the episode recapping Hickman’s unorthodox career to the NFL. After a career in law, Hickman started her journey to the NFL through interning with the Canadian Football League. She would go on to work for the Philadelphia Eagles with Andrew Berry.

She’s well-trained media-wise as a Browns front office member. When asked about the team she kept information close to the chest. Hickman mentioned that the Browns changed their player performance department this year. The Browns will use more data-driven approaches for injury prevention. The Browns have spent all year collecting various data points to determine a player’s health.

The Browns have struggled with injuries to start the year, especially with players returning from rehab. Hopefully, the team can smooth out the issues that plagued them earlier this year. Football is a war of attrition and health is the most important factor for a team’s success.

The interview showcased why Hickman is such a popular candidate for the general manager job.

The Cardinals are in 1st place…now what?

A look back at the Cardinals’ win over the Dolphins and what is next as a first-place team in the NFC West.

The Arizona Cardinals find themselves at the top of the NFC West at 4-4 after a 28-27 win on the road over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

So now what?

In the latest edition of the podcast, cohost Seth Cox and I break down the win, looking at both the offensive and defensive performances, and then talk about what is next for the Cardinals.

We loved the performance of Kyler Murray and think maybe the Cardinals found their next kicker.

What can we expect now that they are 4-4?

It appears that they could go into the final two weeks above .500 and probably battling for a spot in the playoffs.

That’s crazy, right?

Anyway, enjoy the show!

Dolphins Wire managing editor Adam Stites joins Jess Root on the podcast to preview Cardinals-Dolphins.

The Arizona Cardinals will face the Miami Dolphins Sunday in Week 8 on the road. It is a team the Cardinals rarely face. The Dolphins could look vastly different than they have over the last month, as quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returns after missing the last six weeks with a concussion.

To find out more about the Dolphins, Dolphins Wire managing editor Adam Stites joined for a new edition of the podcast.

We discussed Tua’s return, the Dolphins’ start of the season, and more. We previewed the matchup of the Cardinals and Dolphins and made our picks and predictions for the game.

Reactions to the Cardinals’ win over the Chargers

Jess Root and Seth Cox break down the win and react to it on the latest edition of the podcast.

The Arizona Cardinals picked up a surprising win Monday night over the Los Angeles Chargers. They shut down their running game, had a couple of extremely lucky bounces and had big plays by Kyler Murray, James Conner and Chad Ryland.

So in this edition of the podcast, cohost Seth Cox and I react to the crazy inconsistencies of this team. We talk about how the two fumble plays were extremely lucky but were effort lucky plays.

We go over the good and the bad on offense and defense and then discuss the injury situation as linebacker Dennis Gardeck is out for the rest of the season, having torn his ACL again.
