Terrion Arnold’s NFL player comparison ahead of 2024 NFL draft

Terrion Arnold is being compared to an NFL superstar cornerback!

Former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Terrion Arnold is widely regarded as one of the top prospects entering the 2024 NFL draft. Playing alongside fellow star corner Kool-Aid McKinstry certainly boosted his confidence and play throughout the 2023 college football season.

One fun aspect of the NFL draft process is player comparisons for the draft-eligible prospects. NFL draft analyst Doug Farrar put together NFL player comparisons for the top 50 prospects in the 2024 draft class including Arnold.

As far as Arnold is concerned, Farrar compares his game to four-time Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore of the New Orleans Saints.

Arnold, who allowed 41 catches on 79 targets for 441 yards, 250 yards, two touchdowns, five interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and an opponent passer rating of 50.7 last season for Alabama in 2023, is an aggressive press cornerback who can also play well in zone. His fever-pitch playing style brings the New Orleans Saints’ Marshon Lattimore to mind, and Lattimore (selected by the Saints out of Ohio State with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 draft) has been an impressive lockdown guy over his last two seasons.

Arnold should find himself being selected inside the top 15 of the draft. The consensus destination for Arnold is No. 13 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Arnold and other former Alabama players preparing for the upcoming 2024 NFL draft.

Dallas Turner’s NFL player comparison ahead of 2024 draft

See which NFL superstar draft experts believe former Alabama LB Dallas Turner plays like!

Former Alabama Crimson Tide football linebacker Dallas Turner ranks as one of the top defensive players in the 2024 NFL draft class. He had big shoes to fill after Will Anderson Jr. left for the NFL and Turner surpassed expectations, earning him an early first-round projection.

For fans who are interested in what Turner brings to the table, NFL draft analyst Doug Farrar put together NFL player comparisons for the top 50 prospects in the 2024 draft class.

When it comes to Turner, Farrar compares him to a two-time Pro Bowl EDGE for the Carolina Panthers, Brian Burns.

“Last season for Alabama, Dallas Turner totaled 11 sacks and 55 total pressures with a playing style that is all about speed and bend to the pocket,” writes Farrar. “He’s one of the most explosive players at his position in this class, and in that way, he reminds me a lot of Burns, who was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 16th overall pick in the 2019 draft, and signed a five-year, $141 million contract with the New York Giants after a recent trade.”

Turner is expected to be a top-10 selection in the upcoming draft, with a majority of experts believing the Atlanta Falcons will be the franchise to scoop him up. However, the first round of the draft comes with many surprises, so while we can pencil him in at No. 8 to the Falcons, it is far from a guarantee. Draft-day trades and surprise picks should be expected.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Turner and other former Alabama players preparing for the upcoming 2024 NFL draft.

Hall of Fame running back offers impressive NFL comparison for Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs is being compared to a legendary Tennessee Titans running back!

LaDainian Tomlinson, a 2017 inductee to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, had high praise and a hefty player comparison for former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs.

On NFL Total Access, Tomlinson discussed the speed and versatility of Gibbs. He states that Gibbs could run a 4.2 40-yard dash, which would cause a massive rise on NFL draft boards. He likens his abilities to Tennessee Titans legendary running back Chris Johnson, also known as ‘CJ2K.’

Gibbs began his collegiate career at Georgia Tech and transferred to Alabama in the 2022 offseason. Though he only played one season in Tuscaloosa, fans will remember him for his ability to lift the offense as both a ball carrier and a pass catcher.

In recent mock drafts, Gibbs has been projected to land at No. 30 overall in the first round to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow former Alabama players as the 2023 NFL draft approaches.

Former NFL GM compares Bryce Young to Steph Curry

The former Alabama QB is being compared to NBA great Steph Curry ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.

Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is expected to be the first quarterback selected in the 2023 NFL draft and there’s a strong possibility that he is the first overall pick, as well.

Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum joined ESPN’s Get Up to discuss Young and the type of quarterback he can become in the NFL.

Tannenbaum mentions that though there are size concerns regarding Young, he will be a “great passer” in the NFL and that he will likely be a better quarterback than former Oregon standout and current starter for the Los Angeles Chargers, Justin Herbert.

He also quotes ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay in saying Young “has Steph Curry in him.”

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Young and other former Alabama players preparing for the 2023 NFL draft.

Bryce Young is already drawing comparisons to a future Hall of Fame QB

Bryce young still has at least one more season at the collegiate level, but the NFL is already eager to have him.

Alabama quarterback [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] will be a junior in the upcoming 2022 season, which means he is eligible to enter the 2023 NFL draft once the college football season concludes. Though nothing is guaranteed, it’s not likely that the reigning Heisman Trophy recipient will return for a senior season.

NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently put together a scouting report on Young. Jeremiah mentions positives in Young’s game, such as his accuracy and decision-making abilities. He also points out aspects of Young’s game that need improvement, such as a need to bulk up before getting to the NFL.

He offers a comparison. Jeremiah believes he sees shades of former New Orleans Saints quarterback, and future Hall of Fame member, Drew Brees.

“There really isn’t a clean comparison for Young. However, I see the most similarities to a young Drew Brees,” Jeremiah writes. “Both guys lack ideal size, but they make up for it with elite processing and accuracy. I think Brees was a similar athlete at that stage of his career. They are pure point guards. The ball comes out quick and the placement is excellent.”

Finally, Jeremiah states that he is excited to see Young perform against a young and eager Texas A&M defense, as will highlight Young’s strengths and display his ability to perform under serious pressure.

NFL analyst compares DeVonta Smith to one of the league’s best WR’s

The similarities are there, do you think this is accurate?

Former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith was selected No. 12 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2021 NFL draft, and while he still hasn’t taken a single NFL snap, he carries a large responsibility: help his team’s offense get to the next level.

The Eagles seemingly moved on from Carson Wentz late in the season, and confirmed it in the offseason when they traded him to the Indianapolis Colts. Now, Hurts is QB1 in Philadelphia.

So, the front office didn’t only bring him a Heisman-winning, versatile wide receiver, but they got him a friend when they drafted Smith.

The former Alabama teammates will soon be reunited on game days, except this time games will be on Sundays, and they’ll be playing in a colder climate.

Because no one can be quite sure how Smith will look at the NFL level, we must still rely on player comparisons.

NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt believes Smith is very similar to Buffalo Bills star receiver, Stefon Diggs.

Brandt cites his size, speed, route-running abilities and even hand size as his reason for the comparison.

Mac Jones earns impressive player comparison from NFL analyst

Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones is expected to be one of the first QBs drafted in the first round. Who could he resemble in the NFL?

Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was not expected to perform as well as he did in the 2020 college football season. Leading the Crimson Tide to national championship No. 18 and being a Heisman finalist was not something many thought would happen.

However, he did it, and is now expected to be a first-round quarterback in the 2021 NFL draft.

Where he may land is still a heavily debated topic. Though, some analysts believe that his abilities are similar to that of future Hall of Fame players.

Peter Schrager of NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” believes that Jones’ ceiling could be as high as Drew Brees.

“The basement on Mac Jones, from everyone you talk to, the basement is Kirk Cousins,” Schrager told Andrew Siciliano. “The ceiling, if he’s unbelievable, and he’s the perfect prospect … might be Drew Brees.”

There are rumors circulating that Jones will be the No. 3 overall pick to San Francisco, however others think that the 49ers could go with Ohio State’s Justin Fields instead.

NFL analyst gives interesting player comparison for Najee Harris

Najee Harris is set to take the next step in his career. But who is he similar to in the NFL? An analyst explains who Harris reminds him of.

Former Alabama running back Najee Harris not only made his mark on the Crimson Tide during his time with the team, but the entire college football community.

Harris, who finished No. 5 in the final Heisman voting, flashes speed, power and overall athleticicsm. He’s a danger to oppossing defenses as a ball carrier and a pass catcher.

In his four years at Alabama, Harris carried the ball 638 times for 3,843 yards and 46 touchdowns. He also managed to catch 80 passes for 781 yards and 11 touchdowns.

NFL analyst and former professional quarterback Dan Orlovsky gave Harris an interesting player comparison: Matt Forte.

Forte played in the NFL for nine seasons on two teams.

“He reminds me a lot of Matt Forte,” said Orlovsky. “First of all, I think that they both run with grace yet power, but also the second-level vision that they have. It’s like that spidey sense where they see the flow of the defense, and then they have the ability to cut back. And then their past catching ability; this isn’t just guys that are you know we could check it down to them, but we could use them as weapons throwing them the football. So I love them both with similar running styles, but also the reality of how good they are in a first, second and third down pass-catching threat.”

Harris is a potential late first-round pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL draft, and many consider him to be the best running back in the draft class.
