Commanders vs. Eagles: Best photos from the NFC championship

We look at some of the best photos from the Commanders’ NFC championship loss to the Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC championship game on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

Turnovers proved to be the difference in the game as Washington turned the ball over four times, and the Eagles scored touchdowns each time. It was an interesting shift for the Commanders, who defeated the top-seeded Lions last week, winning the turnover margin 5-0.

Saquon Barkley rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Washington rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 29 of 48 passes for 255 yards with a touchdown and interception. He also led the Commanders with 48 rushing yards to cap off a record-breaking rookie season.

PHOTOS: UNC basketball struggles down stretch in ACC loss at Louisville

Here’s a few photos from UNC’s New Year’s Day loss at Louisville.

The North Carolina Tar Heels were on the right track in their basketball season, entering Wednesday night’s matchup with Louisville off an upset win over UCLA and a blowout against Campbell.

When the final seconds ticked off the JumboTron at the KFC Yum! Center, UNC reverted back to its concerning struggles in an 83-70 loss.

North Carolina’s (8-6, 1-1 ACC) greatest red flag came down the stretch, as the Tar Heels only scored one point over the game’s final five minutes. I’ve watched this trend in recent losses: UNC ties or takes the lead late in second halves, then either can’t score or get stops down the stretch.

Wednesday night continued showing why North Carolina’s lack of a dominant post presence hurts them. Louisville (9-5, 2-1 ACC) bullied the Tar Heels in the post, particularly in transition, as Cardinals guards lofted easy passes over shorter UNC players for easy buckets.

Ian Jackson is North Carolina’s greatest offensive threat – and that’s even with reigning ACC Player of the Year RJ Davis on the roster. Jackson scored 23 points in Wednesday’s loss, his third-consecutive 20-point outing.

Give Louisville its credit where credit is due. The Cardinals look like a brand-new team under first-year head coach Pat Kelsey, who previously led Winthrop and College of Charleston to multiple NCAA Tournament berths.

The Tar Heels, on the other hand, are a shell of the head-turning squad we witness last season. UNC continues to trend towards missing the Big Dance in March, which would be its second time in three seasons under Hubert Davis.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 24 of 36 passes for 227 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception. Daniels also led both teams with 127 rushing yards. His touchdown pass to Zach Ertz in overtime ended the game, giving Washington its fourth consecutive win and 11th of the season.

The Washington Commanders improved to 10-5 on Sunday, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 36-33 at Northwest Stadium.

It was Washington’s third consecutive win as it moved closer to clinching a playoff spot. Quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 24 of 39 passes for 258 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. Daniels also led Washington with 81 rushing yards.

The Commanders won the game despite turning the ball over five times. What’s more impressive is Washington did this against the NFL’s top-ranked defense.

Let’s review some of the best photos from the Commanders vs. Falcons.

Commanders vs. Saints: Best photos from Week 15

A collection of the best photos from Week 15.

The Washington Commanders improved to 9-5 with Sunday’s 20-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was phenomenal again, completing 25 of 31 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels also led Washington with 66 rushing yards on 11 attempts.

Other than Terry McLaurin, Daniels didn’t receive a lot of help. He was sacked eight times and dealt with injuries all around him. After Sunday’s performance, Daniels furthered his case for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Despite a furious late comeback attempt, Washington held off the Saints.

Here are some of the best photos from the Week 15 battle between the Commanders and Saints.

Photos from Bill Belichick’s introductory press conference as UNC head football coach

Check out our photo gallery from Bill Belichick’s first press conference as UNC’s head football coach.

The North Carolina Tar Heels made the biggest splash this college football season, hiring the legendary Bill Belichick to be their next head coach.

After UNC fired Mack Brown the week of the NC State game, everyone turned their heads to UNC’s coaching search. Arthur Blank, Jon Sumrall and Freddie Kitchens were a few names floated out there, then Belichick emerged as a surprise candidate the first week of December.

North Carolina finally hired Belichick on Wednesday, Dec. 11, inking him to a 5-year, $30 million deal. Bill’s first three years and all $30 million is guaranteed, but he has the option to add two more years.

It didn’t take long for Belichick to make his way into Chapel Hill, with the Tar Heels’ head coach conducting his introductory press conference on Thursday afternoon. People filled the Loudermilk Center for Excellence to watch UNC’s new head coach speak, alongside athletic director Bubba Cunningham and Chancellor Lee Roberts.

Belichick is best known for his 24 years as the New England Patriots‘ head coach, leading them to six Super Bowl titles (two consecutive in February 2004 and 2005) and 17 AFC East titles (11 straight from 2009-2019 regular seasons). Belichick, who earned AP NFL Coach of the Year honors three times, is the NFL’s all-time leader in postseason wins amongst head coaches.

North Carolina is a program in need of someone like Belichick – someone who can turn North Carolina into a true winner. Mediocrity filled the Tar Heels’ seasons under Mack Brown, Larry Fedora and Butch Davis. If you watch football on Sundays over the past two decades, you know Belichick is anything but mediocre.

Let’s give you a sneak peek at Belichick’s first press conference, as we compile a photo gallery from several pictures those in attendance took.

He did, however, cover an array of subjects during his pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday, including an update on the PGA Tour-PIF deal.

As for the players teeing it up on Thursday, Scottie Scheffler looks to defend his title and will be joined by Justin Thomas, Sahith Theegala, Patrick Cantlay, Tom Kim and Jason Day, among others.

This week’s winner won’t earn FedEx Cup points, but he will get Official World Golf Ranking points as well as $1 million of the $5 million purse.
