The Phoenix Suns (43-30) take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (50-22) Friday with tip-off from Paycom Center set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Suns vs. Thunder odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Thunder lead 2-0

The Suns have won 4 of 5 after a 104-97 W in Denver Wednesday as 5.5-point dogs. F Kevin Durant had 30 points and 13 boards while going 3-for-4 from long range. They’ve jumped up to 7th place in the West and trail the Dallas Mavericks by a half-game to get out of the play-in tournament.

The Thunder dropped their 2nd in 3 games Wednesday with a 132-126 setback against the Houston Rockets as 4.5-point favorites. Superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sat out with a sore quad, and he’s doubtful for this one. G Josh Giddey busted out with 31 points, 7 boards and 4 assists.

Suns at Thunder and predictions

Prediction

Suns 113, Thunder 107

Moneyline

Full disclosure, I felt the Suns were taking this one before even reading that SGA is doubtful to play. It’s really hard to beat a team 3 times in a season, and the Suns are turning up the heat on the competition down the stretch.  They’re 2-1 on their road trip, and that 1 loss came by 2 points when no one besides KD and G Devin Booker showed up.

You can skip the ML here and take the better value on the spread, though.

PASS.

Against the spread

In this stretch the Suns have won 4 of 5, they covered in each of those wins. OKC is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games and 4-5-1 in the last 10 meetings against Phoenix.

Take the SUNS -1.5 (-115).

Over/Under

OKC cashed 2 straight Overs, but they’re 4-6 O/U over their last 10. The Suns are 5-5 O/U during the same stretch. The Under has cashed in both meetings this year, and with SGA on the sidelines, I’ll take the UNDER 227.5 (-110).

Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (42-35) battle the Oklahoma City Thunder (38-40) Sunday. Tip from Paycom Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Suns vs. Thunder odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Suns have won 4 straight games and are coming off a 100-93 home win Friday over the Denver Nuggets, failing to cover as a 13-point favorite. Phoenix is 3-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 4 games after going 0-4 ATS the 4 games before that. It is 40-36-1 ATS on the season.

The Thunder are coming off a 121-117 road loss to the Indiana Pacers, failing to cover as a 6-point favorite. They are 0-6 ATS over their last 6 and just 2-4 straight up over that span. Oklahoma City is 43-32-3 ATS on the season.

The Thunder are 1-2 straight up and 1-1-1 ATS against Phoenix this season. The total is 3-0 O/U in those matchups.

Suns at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 117, Thunder 114

Moneyline

AVOID.

With F Kevin Durant healthy, the Suns are the far superior side, so the Thunder, despite playing at home, aren’t worth a wager at +155. The Suns are too expensive at -190.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER +4.5 (-110).

The Thunder have failed to cover 6 games in a row yet are still 43-32-3 ATS this season. They have consistently been one of the best covering teams at home as well, posting a 23-16 ATS record at Paycom Center. They are also 5-2 ATS over their last 7 home games.

OKC is 10-9 ATS as a home underdog. The Suns are 1-1 ATS since Durant’s return and just 3-8 ATS over their last 11 games. The Thunder should also be a heavy public fade as well.

Take the THUNDER +4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 233.5 (-105).

The Suns have gone Under in 3 straight games, and since Durant’ return, they are averaging just 103.5 points per game while allowing just 96.5.

Durant is one of the best defensive guards in the NBA, and his length should give the Thunder problems. OKC has gone Under in 4 of its last 5 games as well as in 8 of its last 12.

For a smaller unit, play the UNDER 233.5 (-105).

Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (62-15) visit the Paycom Center Sunday to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (22-55). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Thunder odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns have already clinched the Western Conference’s top seed and home-court advantage throughout the 2022 NBA playoffs. They’re an incredible 31-7 on the road and have a better road record than their league-best 31-8 home record.

Phoenix will be resting its top scorer, G Devin Booker, and starting center Deandre Ayton. The Suns are coming off an 8-point loss Friday to Memphis which snapped a 9-game winning streak. Phoenix has covered 7 of its last 10.

As for the Thunder, clearly out of play-in tournament contention, it’ll also be down many of its key personnel.

The Thunder are 7-2 against the spread (ATS) over their last 10 and are 46-27-4 ATS on the season. OKC is coming off a 9-point home loss Friday to the Pistons, failing to cover as 4-point underdogs.

Suns at Thunder odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 118, Thunder 109

Money line

PASS.

Betting a -1600 money line just doesn’t make sense given the potential risk vs. return. On the other side, the Thunder are 10-29 at home and without several of their top players. PASS the money line here.

Against the spread

LEAN to the THUNDER +14.5 (-110).

In theory, the Suns may not have much to play for and should be giving players near the bottom of their rotation more minutes. That’s going to even more true as Booker and Ayton sit.

While the Thunder are also short-handed, they’ve consistently covered as large home underdogs this season. OKC is 18-15-4 as a home underdog. It has also been covering at a far higher rate s of late.

The Suns are 3-3 ATS over their last 6 while the Thunder are 7-2 ATS over their last 9. With Phoenix likely not playing its stars heavy minutes, the Thunder should be able to keep things close.

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 221.5 (-112).

Throughout the course of the season, the Thunder’s strength has been their defense. As of late, that hasn’t been the storyline as they had the fourth-worst defensive rating (120.4) in March.

Even without Booker and Ayton, the Suns should be able to score at will behind players that will play with pace like F Cameron Johnson and G Cameron Payne.

In March, the Thunder ranked 4th and the Suns 6th in pace as well, so this should be a high-energy game.

Lastly, both the Suns and Thunder are 8-3 O/U in their last 11, so they’ve been consistently topping the projected total, as I expect them to do on Sunday as well.

Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns (48-10) travel to Paycom Center Thursday to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (18-40). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Suns vs. Thunder odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Suns entered the All-Star break with the league’s best record but may have headwinds in keeping it as All-Star G Chris Paul is set to be sidelined at least six weeks with a broken thumb. Paul is currently the league leader in assists per game (10.7).

The Suns rank fourth in points per game (113.7) and sixth in opponents’ points per game (105.5). They’re 32-26 against the spread (ATS) on the season and are 13-8 ATS as road favorites.

Thunder star G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not show up on the injury report despite that he missed weeks leading up to the All-Star break. The Thunder are the second-best covering team in the NBA at 35-19-4 ATS and are 14-8-4 as home underdogs.

The return of SGA will be helpful as OKC’s struggles have been offensive. The Thunder rank 30th in points per game (101.2), field goal percentage (41.8) and three-point field goal percentage (31.3).

Suns at Thunder odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 106, Thunder 100

Money line

PASS.

The Suns are the better teams in the league even with Paul sidelined but a -700 tag is too rich for a regular-season favorite. While the Thunder are better at home they still aren’t playable against Phoenix at +470, although I do expect them to keep it close.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the THUNDER +10.5 (-110).

The Suns are going to re-learn what life before Paul was like. C Deandre Ayton, F Cameron Johnson and F Jae Crowder are going to have to turn into playmakers to help G Devin Booker handle the scoring load.

The Suns’ scoring should take a hit though with Payne still sidelined as well. Similarly, the Thunder will have the second-best scorer (SGA) back on the court alongside standout rookie G Josh Giddey.

The Thunder have the eighth-ranked defensive rating in the NBA, and that’s going to help keep this game close.

The Thunder also have a league-worst 102 offensive rating, but that jumps to 104.5 when SGA is on the court. His return will make all the difference and should help the Thunder immensely.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 218.5 (-112).

While SGA should help the Thunder offense, there still isn’t much playmaking there, and Dort being sidelined certainly doesn’t help their cause. As for Phoenix, figuring out life without Paul may be easier said than done.

Paul hasn’t missed a game this season but did miss two key playoffs games against the Los Angeles Clippers last season in which the Suns scored 120 and 104, the former of which they shot 55% from the field.

The Thunder have been more prone to miss the total and have gone 24-33-1 O/U on the season and 12-14 O/U as home underdogs, while the Suns are just 28-29-1 O/U this season.

Analyzing Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Thunder are streaking, having won three games in a row, including a 108-94 home win over the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night. They held Denver to 39.3% shooting on the night and G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a triple-double with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists, leading six players scoring in double figures.

The Suns have won four in a row and 24 of their last 26 games. No one is playing better basketball than Phoenix right now. They beat the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday night 108-90.

Thunder at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 116, Thunder 99

Money line

PASS on the money line. There is nor reason to bet 16 times what you can win on the Suns with other bets to be made.

The Thunder are playing well and have won three games in a row, and they would give a huge payout, but they are facing the best team in the NBA, who is at full strength.

Against the spread

The Thunder have covered the spread in four straight games and in six of their last eight contests. They are 19-11 ATS on the season, the third-best record in the league against the spread.

The Suns themselves have covered the spread in four straight games. They are now 17-13 ATS overall. They are 6-4 ATS with a rest advantage like tonight and 9-7 ATS as a home favorite. They have won their last three games by an average of 19.6 points.

Take the SUNS -15.5 (-107).

Over/Under

In their three-game winning streak, they are allowing only 99.6 points per game. However, the Suns are averaging 118.5 points per game in their last four games. The Thunder are the lowest-scoring team in the league at 99.5 points per game.

Five of the last six for the Thunder have stayed Under the projected total, while three of the last four for the Suns have hit the Over.

The Suns will hold the Thunder to roughly their season average but should score enough to get past the projected total.

Take OVER 213.5 (-115).

Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Phoenix Suns at Oklahoma City Thunder NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Phoenix Suns (45-18) open a three-game road trip Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder (21-43). Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Below, we analyze the Suns-Thunder odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Suns have won three straight games and clinched their first playoff berth since 2009-10. They are half a game behind the Utah Jazz for first place in the Western Conference and a win over the Thunder will put them on top. Their 20 road wins this season are the most in the league.

The Thunder won only one of their last 17 games and have been eliminated from playoff contention. Their 140-103 loss to the Suns April 2 was the beginning of that 17-game stretch.

Suns at Thunder: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 121, Thunder 98

Money line (ML)

This is a very uneven matchup. The Thunder have won only once in their last 17 games, while the Suns went 5-2 in perhaps their hardest stretch of the season and have also won nine of their last 12 games.

They are 20-9 on the road this season, while the Thunder have only won nine games at home for the second-fewest in the league.

That said, with the line what it is, it is not worth a wager on the Suns because you have to bet 14 times what you can win. Look to the spread and total.

PASS.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Suns have the second-highest cover percentage in the league at 62.9%, and they covered the spread in seven of the 12 games in which they were favored by at least 10 points.

The Thunder’s cover percentage is 44.4% and is the fifth-lowest mark in the league. Their last 16 losses have been by an average of 22 points. Take the SUNS -15.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Suns’ Over percentage is 54%. Five of their last seven games went Over. The Thunder are 4-5 O/U in their last nine games, and they scored 95 or fewer points in three of their last four games.

Take UNDER 222.5 POINTS (-105).
