Tennessee makes top five for No. 1 player in Nevada

Tennessee is one of five schools for the No. 1 player in Nevada.

2024 four-star power forward Pharaoh Compton announced his top five schools.

Tennessee, LSU, San Diego State, Iowa and UNLV are Compton’s top five schools.

The 6-foot-7, 235-pound forward is from Arbor View High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He transferred from AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Arizona.

Compton is the No. 88 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 14 power forward and No. 1 player in Nevada, according to On3 industry rankings.

Compton averaged 12.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game as a sophomore.

The 2024 prospect will officially visit Tennessee on Sept. 8. Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2024 recruiting class.

2024 4-star power forward trims his list down to five schools

The Tigers will host Pharaoh Compton in October.

A top-100 power forward in the 2024 recruiting class has narrowed his list of finalists down to five schools. LSU, San Diego State, UNLV, Tennessee, and Iowa made the cut.

There are no Crystal Ball projections for [autotag]Pharaoh Compton[/autotag] at this time but San Diego State is a 24% favorite to land him per On3. [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] is currently working on building a strong recruiting class and he does not have any commits for the 2024 class yet.

Compton is a 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward from Las Vegas, Nevada where he plays for Arbor View High School. The Arbor View Aggies finished the 2022 season 20-8 with a loss to Coronado in the 5A South Quarterfinals.

According to 247Sports, Compton is scheduled to visit LSU on Oct. 14. Hopefully, McMahon can convince Compton that the Bayou is the right place for him to play at the next level. LSU basketball starts its season on Oct. 30 against Louisiana Christian.

LSU to host blue-chip power forward in October

Coach Matt McMahon is still looking for the first commitment in the 2024 class.

While LSU is still looking for its first basketball commitment in the 2024 class, coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] has managed to get the Tigers official visits with some key prospects.

One of them is four-star Chandler (Ariz.) power forward [autotag]Pharaoh Compton[/autotag]. He’s already taken an official visit to Houston, and he has trips set for San Diego State (Aug. 23-25), Tennessee (Sept. 8) and lastly, LSU (Oct. 14-16).

Compton, who is originally from Las Vegas and announced his decision to transfer to Arbor View High School in his hometown, ranks as the No. 79 player nationally and the top prospect in Nevada, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

LSU will hope that visit is able to make an impact as McMahon looks to add talent in the 2024 cycle.

4-star PF reportedly working on finalizing September official visit to the Iowa Hawkeyes

One of Iowa’s top targets in the 2024 class, four-star power forward Pharaoh Compton, is reportedly working on a September official visit.

The Iowa Hawkeyes have been in the mix for one of the nation’s best players for some time.

Iowa offered four-star power forward Pharaoh Compton in May, and the Hawkeyes have been heavily involved since. Now, per Andrew Slater, Compton shares he has been hearing from Iowa, LSU, San Diego State and Maryland.

Compton has an official visit planned to San Diego State on Aug. 23-25 and he is reportedly speaking with Iowa to work out the details of a September official visit to the Hawkeyes. Obviously, it would be terrific news for the black and gold if they can get the elite big on campus for an official visit.

Out of Chandler, Arizona, Compton plays for powerhouse program AZ Compass Prep. Compton is also a member of the Nike EYBL squad Vegas Elite.

The 6-foot-8, 215 pound big has offers from Arizona State, Houston, Kansas State, LSU, Ole Miss, San Diego State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UNLV and Washington State.

Compton is a consensus four-star recruit across the four major recruiting services. Rivals and On3 each rank Compton as the nation’s No. 76 overall player in the 2024 class.

According to Rivals, Compton is the No. 8 power forward in 2024. Meanwhile, On3 regards Compton as the No. 13 power forward and as the No. 4 player from Arizona.

247Sports ranks Compton as the nation’s No. 84 player overall, as the No. 15 power forward and as the No. 6 player in Arizona. Lastly, ESPN rates Compton as the No. 22 power forward and as the No. 1 player from Arizona.
