Patriots’ top 10 offensive players in Week 6, per PFF grades

Here are the Patriots’ top offensive performers in Week 6, per PFF grades.

The New England Patriots showed more offensive fight against the Las Vegas Raiders, which isn’t surprising considering they were facing another bad football team.

Coming into the game, the Patriots hadn’t scored a touchdown since their Week 3 meeting with the New York Jets. They’d been beaten and flat out humiliated by the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints by a combined 72-3 scoring margin.

But then the football scheduling gods felt pity on them enough to put a road trip to Las Vegas on their itinerary for a matchup with the Raiders.

The offense still stunk, for the most part, but they finally moved the ball and scored two touchdowns on the legs of running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Rhamondre Stevenson.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne also had a huge game leading the Patriots with 10 catches for 89 receiving yards. Backup quarterback Malik Cunningham got a taste of regular season action, but he wasn’t out there long enough for it mean anything.

Patriots’ top 10 offensive players in Week 4, per PFF grades

Who were the Patriots’ top-10 offensive players in their ugly Week 4 loss?

An offensive implosion for the ages wrecked any hope the New England Patriots ever had of upsetting an angry Dallas Cowboys team at home in Week 4.

Quarterback Mac Jones was at the center of it all with two interceptions and one lost fumble on a strip sack. The Patriots gifted the Cowboys 14 points with two of the turnovers being returned for touchdowns, while the third flipped field position and set Dallas up near the 50-yard line.

The offensive line was undisciplined and unreliable, while the rushing attack completely stalled after showing some life in Week 3 against the New York Jets.

What followed was the worse loss in NFL history by a Bill Belichick-coached team. It was a nightmare performance by the Patriots offense, and their Pro Football Focus grades reflect it.

Let’s take a look at the top-10 offensive players, per their PFF grades in Week 4.

TE Pharoah Brown excited for one particular game on Patriots’ schedule

There’s one game in particular Patriots TE Pharaoh Brown has circled on his calendar

New England Patriots tight end Pharoah Brown is circling one particular game on his calendar, and that’s the November meeting with the Indianapolis Colts.

Brown was cut by the Colts before he was signed to the Patriots’ practice squad on August 30. He made an impact in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets when catching a 58-yard touchdown pass that proved to be important in New England’s 15-10 victory.

New England still has a little ways to go before their showdown with Indianapolis. Nevertheless, Brown is looking to show what he can do in a strong tight ends room that also has Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki.

“Can’t wait,” Brown said, when talking about facing the Colts.

The game could have implications for New England with Indianapolis currently sitting with a 2-1 record. In the meantime, it will be fun to see what kind of role Brown will play from here on out.

Patriots’ top 10 offensive players in Week 3, per PFF grades

Which Patriots offensive players had the highest PFF grades in Week 3?

The New England Patriots had just enough of an offensive pulse to squeak out an ugly 15-10 win over the New York Jets.

Make no mistake, Sunday’s game was all about Matthew Judon and the rest of the Patriots defense throwing on the red cape and saving the day. But there were still solid efforts made on the offensive side of the ball as well.

Quarterback Mac Jones was efficient and didn’t turn the ball over. A third tight end emerged as a legitimate offensive threat for New England. And the offensive line put up a better fight than expected against a Jets defensive front that ranks among the best in football.

It wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but the Patriots offense hasn’t come close to reaching its full potential. Here are the Patriots’ top-10 offensive players from Week 3, according to their Pro Football Focus grades.

3 standout stars in Patriots’ Week 3 win over Jets

Who were the standout stars for the Patriots in Week 3?

The New England Patriots earned a slow-burning 15-10 victory over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Although the ultimate goal was a win, the Patriots’ offense was sluggish in a game where they should have taken advantage of the poor offense the Jets trotted out on the field.

Regardless, as we do each week, we’re going to hand out some standout star awards to the top-three Patriots players. Even if this was a game that lacked excitement and offensive progression, it still had some big-time playmakers on the Patriots’ side.

Studs and duds in Patriots’ nail-biting 15-10 win over Jets

Who were the studs and duds in the Patriots’ 15-10 win over the Jets?

A win is a win.

That appears to be the mindset for the New England Patriots after nearly blowing Sunday’s road game against the New York Jets.

The offense failed to close the game on multiple drives, leaving a last-minute opportunity in the hands of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson on a seemingly impossible Hail Mary throw that nearly ended in a touchdown.

Fortunately for the Patriots, the ball narrowly missed the awaiting hands of Randall Cobb, and the clock ticked to zero for a New England 15-10 victory. Patriots Twitter seemed a bit uneasy after the game with another tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys slated for Week 4.

There were both good and bad moments on the field for the Patriots against the Jets. Let’s take a look at the studs and duds from their first win of the season.

Patriots promoting TE Pharaoh Brown to the main roster ahead of Week 1

The Patriots are bumping TE Pharaoh Brown to the main roster.

The New England Patriots will now be entering Sunday’s regular season opener with three tight ends on their roster.

On Monday, the team announced they were putting veteran offensive tackle Riley Reiff on injured reserve and promoting Pharaoh Brown to the main roster.

Brown’s presence on the field not only gives quarterback Mac Jones another possible receiving target, but more importantly, he gives the third-year quarterback another potential blocker to help fortify the offensive front. Mike Gesicki is expected to be in the lineup, but his skill set is fixed as a pass-catcher.

Brown, on the other hand, is a versatile option that offers the team more of a traditional tight end to play behind Hunter Henry and Gesicki. He also has a bit of experience playing under Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien for a short time in Houston.

In a corresponding move, the Patriots also announced they re-signed defensive tackle Jeremy Pharms Jr. to the practice squad. After being waived last week, Pharms now finds himself back on the Patriots’ roster with a chance to prove himself.
