Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner is Seattle’s Peak Performer in loss to Rams

For his impressive performance in the wild-card round loss to the Rams, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner is the team’s Peak Performer.

There is a reason Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner was named to the Associated Press’ All-Pro first team this week and is assuredly headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his career is over. He is one of the best defensive players to ever put on a Seahawks uniform.

Despite Seattle playing from behind against Los Angeles in the wild-card contest, Wagner never took his foot off the gas. Wagner finished the day leading the team in tackles with 16 total and one tackle for loss. Wagner also logged one quarterback hit and one sack.

At one point near the end of the matchup, Wagner pulled up limping but was able to play through the pain.

For his impressive efforts Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Rams, Wagner is the Seahawks Wire’s Peak Performer of the game.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams had the Week 14 game against his former team, the New York Jets, circled on his calendar. On Sunday, Adams not only shined, but set himself a new NFL record.

Adams finished the day logging five tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass defensed and a sack. More importantly, Adams set the new league record for the most single-season sacks by a defensive back at 8.5 on the year.

Adams has played in just nine games this year . . . and he’s just getting started.

“It really hasn’t hit me yet that I broke the record but, really I’m trying to shatter it to be real with you,” Adams said after the win. “This is just a start, it’s not the finish. The marathon continues.”

For his impressive play against the Jets, Adams is the Seahawks Wire’s Peak Performer.

He’ll get another shot to add to his sack total next Sunday when the Seahawks head east to square off against the Washington Football Team.

Seahawks Peak Performer Week 8: Wide receiver DK Metcalf

For his impressive efforts against the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is our Peak Performer Week 8.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers Week 8 at CenturyLink Field to maintain control of the division. The win was made possible in part by our Seahawks Peak Performer of the game – wide receiver DK Metcalf.

Metcalf posted another banner outing, finishing the day as the team’s leading receiver with 12 receptions on 15 targets for 161 yards (long of 46) and two touchdowns. He got three times as many looks as wide receiver Tyler Lockett.

Through seven games played, Metcalf has amassed 35 catches for 680 yards and seven scores.

“What a fantastic game he played,” coach Pete Carroll said after the victory. “Just so tough and so physical. Just a dominant player out there today. Had a couple touchdowns and then big plays – just one right after the other.”

Seahawks peak performer: Wide receiver Tyler Lockett shines in Green Bay

Seattle Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett truly shined in the team’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, finishing the day as the peak performer.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett had himself a banner night in Green Bay, although it wasn’t enough to give Seattle the win. The Seahawks fell to the Packers 28-23, ending their 2019 campaign.

Lockett, however, was one of the bright spots in the game Sunday afternoon, helping to keep the Seahawks firmly in the action.

Quarterback Russell Wilson connected with Lockett late in the third quarter for the score to narrow the Packers’ lead.

Lockett finished the day as the team’s leading receiver, hauling in nine catches on 10 targets for 136 yards and a touchdown.

And as usual, Wilson’s No. 1 target was right where he needed him to be, including during this amazing play featuring one heck of a hit. Lockett managed to hold onto the ball, a crucial catch for Seattle.

Although the season may be over, Lockett and Wilson are just getting started – only one year removed from Doug Baldwin heading the roster. It’s safe to expect bigger and better things from these two in the future.
