Wisconsin basketball’s big game against Illinois will only be available on one streaming platform

Wisconsin basketball’s game against Illinois will only be available on one streaming platform

The 11th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (8-2, 0-1 Big Ten) are on the road on Tuesday night for a critical early season game against No. 19 Illinois (6-2, 0-1 Big Ten).

As was the case for the Badgers’ recent contest against Michigan, the game will only be available via streaming on Peacock. That is the reality for many conference contests in this era of the Big Ten.

As a reminder, the streaming-exclusive games are part of the Big Ten’s new television deal with Fox, CBS and NBC. Peacock, an NBC property, has carried football and basketball games since the deal began last year.

Wisconsin is 1-1 in Peacock-exclusive games so far this season: the loss to Michigan and a big win over then-No. 9 Arizona

Both teams enter the important matchup after disappointing weeks. Wisconsin dropped tough contests against Michigan and at No. 5 Marquette, while Illinois fell to Northwestern in overtime.

The two projected to be among the Big Ten’s best through Feast Week and the season’s first month. A win on Tuesday is paramount for both as they look to return to that standing.

The Badgers and Illinois will tip off at 9 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. CT at State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois. Again, a Peacock subscription is required to watch the contest.

The Wisconsin Badgers (8-0, 0-0 Big Ten) will host the Michigan Wolverines (6-1, 0-0 Big Ten) on Tuesday evening. The game will begin the 2024-25 conference schedule for both schools after each has started strong against their respective nonconference slates.

Wisconsin’s first Big Ten game of the season brings a fresh reminder about how to watch college basketball in the modern age of the sport: the big game will only be available via streaming on Peacock.

Wisconsin has played one Peacock game so far this season — its Nov. 15 win over then-No. 9 Arizona.

The streaming-exclusive games are part of the Big Ten’s new television deal with Fox, CBS and NBC. Peacock, a property of the latter, has been the home for numerous football and basketball games over the past two years.

Wisconsin’s important home matchup against Michigan is the next in the long line of those matchups.

Wisconsin is 8-0 to begin the season and ranked No. 11 in the latest AP Poll entering Tuesday. Its resume already include wins over Arizona and No. 18 Pittsburgh. Michigan, meanwhile, is 6-1 to begin the season under first-year head coach Dusty May. It’s start is highlighted by a recent win at the Fort Myers Tip-Off, capped by a 78-53 victory over Xavier.

The Badgers and Wolverines will tip off at 9 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. CT. Again, a Peacock subscription is required to watch the contest.

Ohio State football vs Michigan State start time has been moved

New kickoff time announced #GoBucks

We told you last week that Ohio State’s Big Ten opener against Michigan State would be a 7 p.m. ET start on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock. According to Jerry Emig, Ohio State’s Associate Athletic Director for Communications, you’ll have a little more time to finish up the yard work before kickoff as the game will now be a 7:30 p.m, ET start.

Many fans still won’t be happy as the game remains scheduled to air on a service that is part of a paid subscription. Like it or not, Peacock will be the only way to see the Buckeyes take on the Spartans.

Michigan State is currently 3-1 after a back-and-forth affair with Boston College this past weekend. Ohio State remains unbeaten and looking to start conference play with a win in East Lansing.

Ohio State football vs Michigan State time and channel announced

Fans might not be happy about this one #GoBucks

The game time and channel have been announced for Ohio State’s Big Ten opener against Michigan State, and Buckeye fans may not be all that happy. The game against Sparty will be under the lights starting at 7 pm in East Lansing. However, the contest will be aired on Peacock, NBC’s paid streaming service.

The game will air on Peacock as part of the multi-billion dollar media deal the Big Ten Conference signed with NBC, CBS, and Fox. This deal started in 2023 with Ohio State playing one game on the Peacock streaming service, beating Purdue 41-7. Peacock is scheduled to air nine Big Ten games this season.

Michigan State is currently 3-0 and will face Boston College before seeing the Buckeyes in Spartan Stadium. Ohio State also looks to stay unbeaten when it welcomes Marshall this week.

How do I get Peacock for Eagles-Packers? A simple guide for NFL fans who want to watch the Week 1 Brazil game

Let’s help you get Peacock for the Eagles-Packers game.

We’ve seen this before, and we’re here to help.

Last year, the NFL gave us two streaming-only games on Peacock, including a playoff game between the Chiefs and Dolphins.

It’s happening again on Friday, with the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers playing in Brazil. If you want to watch the game, you’ve got to have a subscription to Peacock.

So if you don’t have Peacock and you want it to watch this game, we’re here to help you. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Friday as we get ready for the second NFL game of the 2024 season.

[afflinkbutton text=”Watch the Eagles vs. Packers on Peacock” link=”https://imp.i305175.net/rQNL4v”]

What is Peacock?

It’s the streaming service owned by NBCUniversal that has a bunch of classic shows from the company and, oh yeah, live sports.

How much does Peacock cost?

It’s currently $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year (all that plus tax). They also offer a no-ads version for $6 more a month or $60 a year.

Can I cancel Peacock after I watch the game?

I mean, sure. You do you. But you’ll be charged the monthly fee if you go that route.

[afflinkbutton text=”Watch the Eagles vs. Packers on Peacock” link=”https://imp.i305175.net/rQNL4v”]

Are there going to be more streaming-only NFL games in the future?

Yup. More are coming in 2024.

Notre Dame releases teaser of ‘Here Come the Irish’ ahead of premiere

The doc premieres tomorrow

If you haven’t heard, Notre Dame football is releasing a documentary called “Here Come the Irish” on Peacock that will cover fall camp and onto the season.

The premiere is tomorrow, August 29th, and to create some excitement and anticipation, they released a minute-long trailer ahead of the first episode. It features linebacker [autotag]Jack Kiser[/autotag], while he’s on his farm working with his father.

This will be a great look into the Irish program, on top of getting to know the players away from the game of football. The short clip has Kiser talking about how he recognizes the special opportunity he has had to play for Notre Dame.

For many, it will be a must watch program. I will be tuning-in as soon as possible tomorrow.

Notre Dame football will produce a behind-the-scenes documentary of the 2024 season

“Here Come The Irish” arrives later this month

When Notre Dame extended its contract with NBC Sports, the deal included a documentary on the football team that would steam exclusively on [autotag]Peacock[/autotag].

Well, the time has come for that to begin, as the Irish announced today when the first two episodes will air, August 29th. It will be an inside look into the program, which will be similar to HBO’s Hard Knocks.

Episodes three and four will be released on December 5th, five and six on December 19th and the finale on January 16th.

[autotag]“Here Come The Irish”[/autotag] is expected to follow Notre Dame through the preseason, up to the first game of the year, at a minimum according to The Irish Tribune. With that schedule you have to believe that it will go though most of the season.

While it’s unfortunate this is on Peacock, it’s just one more reason to bite the bullet and sign up. This alone most likely will be worth it, and you don’t have to worry about when the Irish are exclusively playing on the platform. (This was not an add, just my general thoughts.)
