No. 9 Georgia (7-2) is set to face No. 8 Cincinnati (9-0) in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at noon on New Year’s day.

The Bulldogs, including a hot Georgia offense and the No. 1 rush defense, take the field for the first time since a 49-14 win at Missouri on Dec. 12.

The last game of the season versus Vanderbilt that was scheduled for the following week was cancelled due to positive COVID-19 testing within the Commodores program.

On the other side, AAC champion Cincinnati rolls into Atlanta with a top-10 defense, undefeated and ready to prove why it deserved playoff consideration.

Here’s what Cincinnati media is saying about Georgia ahead of Friday’s game.

“Georgia was likely overvalued in the playoff rankings, and its ninth-place rankings finish is not indicative of the season it had. The Bulldogs got better once J.T. Daniels stepped in at quarterback, but by that time of the season, they were beating the weaker programs in the SEC. With Daniels at the helm of the Georgia offense, Cincinnati’s top-rated defense will have a chance to shut down a highly-rated quarterback.”
