Paul Keels, Jim Lachey to be honored as Agonis Person(s) of the Year

Longtime Ohio State announcers Paul Keels and Jim Lachey will be honored as the 2024 Agonis Club’s Person(s) of the Year according to a release from the organization.

The Agonis Club of Columbus has been around for over 100 years and is a non-profit organization that brings together sports enthusiasts, educators, and local business professionals in Columbus, Ohio, according to its website? Its mission is “to support and raise funds for Central Ohio High School Student-Athletes, with 100% of member dues going directly to scholarships and support the recognition of the chosen athletes.”

Past winners of the Agonis Club’s Person of the Year include Woody Hayes, Earle Bruce, Clark Kellog, Thad Matta, Jody Shelley, Jack Park, Katie Smith, Jim Tressel, Jon Cooper, Bobby Carpenter & the Carpenter Family, and many many more.

The event to honor the duo will be held on August 7 at the Villa Milano. Every dollar raised from the event will go directly to one of the missions of the Agonis club, funding the Central Ohio Scholar Students Scholarships. The cost is $75 per person, or $500 for a table of eight and includes a meal and meet and greet with the honorees.
