The scoring got started early for Alabama, as Claire Jenkins hit an absolute no-doubt grand slam over the left field wall, which put Alabama up by five in the first inning.

Patrick Murphy and Alabama will play two more games against the Aggies at home before they hit the road to face Arkansas.

They look to return back to the Women’s College World Series after their run in 2019.

WATCH: Alabama softball run rules opponent with grand slam

Alabama continues their perfect season with an 0-8 win against Northern Iowa. The game was cut short after a grand slam due to the run rule.

Alabama softball is on an absolute tear. The team is 19-0 on the season and is not holding back on opponents.

In today’s matchup, the Crimson Tide faced off against Northern Iowa at home, and they did not need the full seven innings.

In a shutout game that ended with a final score of 0-8, Alabama flashed the bats.

Up by four in the bottom of the fifth inning, sophomore infielder Savannah Woodard was up to bat with the bases loaded.

With one swing of the bat, Woodard not only hit a no-doubter grand slam, but ended the game.

The Crimson Tide will face off against South Alabama tomorrow, their final game before conference play begins.

Watch Woodard absolutely crush this ball to right.

The highly anticipated Texas Classic, which featured No. 8 Alabama Softball, has been canceled.

Winter weather has been the deciding factor for the cancellation, with snow forecasted and temperatures not expected to reach 40 degrees throughout the weekend in Austin, Texas, the host site for the Texas Classic.

The University of Texas released a statement on Thursday citing the cancellation:

“With the weather forecast scheduled to deteriorate for the local Austin-metro area over the next few days, and with the safety of our traveling teams and fans foremost in mind, Texas has made the difficult decision to cancel its season-opening Texas Classic.”

With the news, Head Coach Patrick Murphy went to Twitter in hopes to find a new opponent for the weekend.

College softball season is right around the corner and the Alabama Crimson Tide will open up the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the country.

Coach Patrick Murphy will look to take ‘Team 24’ back to to the Women’s College World Series and win it all this time.

His team is full of returning talent from the 2019 season, the only major loss for the team was catcher Reagan Dykes.

The team is set to be an all-around powerhouse on offense, defense and in the circle.

Three members of the 2020 team have received special recognition, however.

Senior power hitter and infield specialist, Bailey Hemphil; Senior speedster and outfielder, Elissa Brown and the Sophormore ace in the circle, Montana Fouts, were all selected to the preseason All-SEC softball team.

Having three players on the team makes Alabama the most represented team in the SEC. Arkansas, LSU and Tennessee each have two players each on the team.

After an impressive season in 2019, they’ll look to build off of what they started.

Their season begins on Feb. 7 as the Crimson Tide will take on UNC and Florida State in a double-header.
