The Parks and Recreation crew had a mini-reunion at the ongoing strikes, and of course Li’l Sebastian showed up

IT’S LI’L SEBASTIAN!

The ongoing actors’ and writers’ strikes continue to keep Hollywood at a virtual standstill, but that doesn’t mean cool moments won’t still emerge from industry favorites.

A really neat Parks and Recreation mini-reunion took place on the picket lines this week, with show stars like Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Jim O’Heir and Ben Schwartz, show co-creator Michael Schur and guest star Sam Elliott showing their support of the ongoing efforts by both guilds.

Well, another special star made an appearance at the strike efforts this week, too. That’s right; beloved miniature horse Li’l Sebastian posed in the Parks and Recreation reunion photo to show his support for his old co-stars.

While we may never get another episode of Parks and Recreation, it is delightful to see some of the show’s familiar faces together to support the ongoing strike efforts in Hollywood.

Maybe when the strikes are over, we’ll get a Li’l Sebastian spinoff? One can wish on 5,000 candles in the wind.

Jenna Ortega, Aubrey Plaza hilariously present award together at SAG Awards

Someone get Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza in the same project, ASAP.

If the Spider-Man pointing meme featured two of the most recognizable actresses in Hollywood, it was on display at Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.

While presenting one of the night’s categories, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega and The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza surprised the crowd by joining each other on stage for a moment of absolute gold.

Ortega and Plaza have both made a name for themselves for their delightfully deadpan, meticulously macabre on-screen personas. The pair knowingly winked at the audience for how hilarious it was that they’d be giving out an award together.

Whether it’s starring in a Scream film (Ortega) or playing April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation (Plaza), the two draw easy comparisons and practically beg for someone to cast them together in a movie or television show.

As the SAG Awards transition to a new home at Netflix, moments like this will work wonders to get more people interested in the acting celebration.

But seriously, Hollywood, make this collaboration happen ASAP.

Notre Dame in pop culture: Happy anniversary, ‘Parks and Recreation’

We miss you in the saddest fashion…

Where were you on April 9, 2009?

That was the day the world outside of fictional Pawnee, Indiana was introduced to the show “Parks and Recreation” which would last seven memorable seasons and eventually include the University of Notre Dame giving an honorary degree to a miniature horse.

It’s one of the most random but best pop culture references to Notre Dame that I can remember.

Some of you are probably entirely confused as to what’s going on here but the show was one of my absolute favorites and seeing Notre Dame acknowledge the anniversary this morning on social media warmed my heart.

The series debuted on this day in 2009 but two years later, in season three, episode seven, Lil’ Sebastian made his debut to the acclaim of the stars of the show.

Well, except for one.

Take a look as the world is introduced to Lil’ Sebastian for the first time:

If you’ve never watched the show then you’re missing out.  In a world of dramas, overacting, and reality TV the show was a throwback of sorts that only gets better with time.  They’re available online and one of the best things about the series is that you can watch pretty much any episode and enjoy it without feeling like you’re entirely missing out.

Have a great Friday.
