The Orlando Magic (18-12) welcome the Boston Celtics (22-6) to Kia Center Monday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Celtics vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Celtics won 2-1 last season

The Magic beat the Miami Heat 121-114 Saturday, closing as 2-point home favorites. They were led by G Cole Anthony, who dropped 35 points on 13-for-25 shooting. The Magic snapped a 3-game losing streak with the win and have gone 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5. They are 17-12-1 ATS on the season.

The Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls on the road 123-98 Saturday, closing as 12-point favorites. F Jayson Tatum had a game-high 43 points and hit 9 threes. Boston has gone 6-2 straight up but just 3-5 ATS in its last 8 games. It is 11-17 ATS on the season.

Celtics at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Celtics 115, Magic 104

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic are down too many key players to assume they can knock off one of the best teams in the NBA. Similarly, the Celtics (-500) are far too favored to play here. Avoid a moneyline wager.

Against the spread

BET CELTICS -10.5 (-110).

The Magic are down too many key weapons. They have 4 players that average double figures and all are listed as out. Banchero and Franz Wagner combine for 53 points per game. That production against a team like Boston will be hard to replicate. Orlando is 3-4-1 ATS in its last 8.

The Celtics have scored 121 or more in 3 of their last 5 games, so they should be able to put up enough points to separate by 11 or more. Boston is 2-2 ATS in its last 4. Take CELTICS -10.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET  OVER 215.5 (-105).

The Magic have gone Over while allowing 110 or more points in 3 of their last 5 games. They have scored at least 106 points in 5 of their last 8 as well, so they have had some production from other scoring options.

The Celtics have topped 110 points per game in 6 of their last 7 games and allowed at least 105 in 4 of the 7. They are 2-0 O/U in games when the total closes between 215-220.

Take OVER 215.5 (-105).

Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Miami Heat at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Miami Heat (13-12) take on the Orlando Magic (17-12) Saturday. Tip-off from Kia Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Heat vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orlando leads 1-0

Miami suffered a 104-97 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday while failing to cover as a 1-point underdog. The Heat turned the ball over 19 times and were outrebounded 48-41. Miami has lost back-to-back games after a 4-game winning streak Dec. 4-12.

Orlando lost 105-99 vs. the visiting Thunder Thursday as a 6-point underdog. The Magic trailed by 19 points at halftime, but stormed back to keep things close in the second half. The Magic continue to skid — they’ve lost 3 straight — thanks to injuries to F Paolo Banchero and F Franz Wagner.

Heat at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Heat 106, Magic 100

Moneyline

PASS.

I like the Heat to pick up the win here against this injured Magic team. However, the spread is more likely to cash, and I am not a fan of doubling down on a team’s ML and its spread.

I recommend passing here, but if you are okay with doubling down, then you can divvy up units between the ML and spread.

Against the spread

BET HEAT +3.5 (-115).

Miami has covered the spread in 4 of the last 6 meetings between these teams.

The Heat have started to turn things around after getting out to a slow start this season, and with Banchero and Wagner out, the Heat are the much safer bet here.

Be aware that this bet does come with a slight amount of risk, as the Magic have been the better team ATS this season.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 207.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in back-to-back games for Orlando and is 16-13 for the Magic this season. For Miami, the Under is 2-1 in its last 3 games.

With Orlando missing its 2 best offensive players, the Under is the safer bet here.

This is a lean because the O/U numbers have been very even for both squads recently.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder (20-6) take on the Orlando Magic (17-11) Thursday. Tip-off from Kia Center is set for 8 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Thunder vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Thunder lead 1-0

The Thunder fell in the NBA Cup final to the Milwaukee Bucks as 5-point favorites 97-81 Tuesday. G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 21 points but struggled going 8-for-24 from the floor. Gilgeous-Alexander has been so good for so long, and he hadn’t had fewer than 26 points in a game since Nov. 10. Oklahoma City had won 5 straight before that loss.

The Magic have lost 3 of 4 after a 100-91 defeat to the New York Knicks Sunday. They’re playing without their 2 stars in F Franz Wagner and G Paolo Banchero. F Moritz Wagner dropped 32 points with 6 boards and 4 threes. They’ve lost 4 of 6.

  • Over/Under (O/U): 212.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Thunder at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 101, Magic 99

Moneyline

I have no concerns about Gilgeous-Alexander rebounding in this one. The concern I have is travel. The Thunder traveled from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas for the NBA Cup final and then flew cross country to Orlando for a game 2 days later. I still like the Thunder here, but definitely not at this price.

I’ll take ISAIAH HARTENSTEIN OVER 25.5 POINTS+REBOUNDS+ASSISTS (-120). He had 30, 31, 26 and 29 the last 4 games. Cha-ching!

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

I’m taking the MAGIC +6.5 (-110) because of Oklahoma City’s travel. Gilgeous-Alexander has really carried the team in Holmgren’s absence, and he could be wearing down. This is the front end of a back-to-back for them, and there just is a lot weighing down the Thunder’s prospects.

Over/Under

The Under cashed in a 102-86 Thunder win Nov. 4, and Holmgren and Franz Wagner were both in for that one. Oklahoma City has hit 3 straight Unders, and Orlando has hit 3 of 5.

I like the UNDER 212.5 (-115).

Season series: Knicks lead 1-0

The Knicks lost to the Atlanta Hawks 108-100 Wednesday, closing as 8-point home favorites. They were led by F Josh Hart, who scored 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting. New York has lost 2 of its last 3 yet has won 4 of its last 6. It is 3-3 against the spread (ATS) in its last 6 and 11-13-1 ATS on the season.

The Magic lost 114-109 at the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday, closing as 8-point underdogs. G Jalen Suggs dropped a team-high 32 points in the loss. Orlando has traded off winning and losing in its last 6, going 3-3 ATS. The Magic are 16-11 ATS on the season.

Knicks at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Knicks 114, Magic 111

Moneyline

PASS.

The Knicks are the better side despite being on the road, and they are the far less injured side as well. However, at -200, they aren’t worth a wager, especially coming off a bad home loss.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC +4.5 (-105).

Orlando has been terrific for bettors at home, going 9-1 ATS. Obviously, it is short some key players, but it has scored at least 109 in 2 straight games, so it should have the offense to keep pace with New York.

The Knicks have struggled, especially as favorites recently. They are 0-3 ATS in their last 3, all as favorites, and 0-3 ATS in their last 3 on the road. New York has failed to top 113 points in 3 straight games.

Back MAGIC +4.5 (-105).

Over/Under

BET OVER 214.5 (-105).

The Magic have gone Over in back-to-back games, scoring and allowing at least 109 points in each outing. Orlando is 5-3 O/U in its last 8 games.

The Knicks, who are 3-2 O/U in their last 5, have tallied at least 111 in 5 of their last 6. They are 14-11 O/U on the season. New York’s defense hasn’t been as solid recently, allowing 108 or more in 3 straight.

Back OVER 214.5 (-105).

Orlando Magic at Milwaukee Bucks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Orlando Magic at Milwaukee Bucks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Orlando Magic (17-9) and Milwaukee Bucks (12-11) meet Tuesday in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. Tip-off from Fiserv Forum is set for 7 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Bucks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; split 2-2 last season

The Magic are coming off a 115-110 win as 2-point favorites vs. the visiting Phoenix Suns Sunday with the Over (214.5) hitting. G Jalen Suggs scored 14 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter for Orlando, which trailed by as many as 12 points.

The Bucks failed to cover as 6-point favorites in a 118-113 victory at the Brooklyn Nets Sunday while the Over (216) cashed. Milwaukee is 1-2 straight up and against the spread (ATS) over its last 3 games.

Orlando went 3-1 ATS vs. Milwaukee last season, with the Over/Under (O/U) going 2-2. In the final meeting April 14, Orlando won 113-88 as a 6-point home favorite while the Under (216) hit. Magic F Paolo Banchero led all scorers with 26 points, but he’ll be out Tuesday with an oblique injury.

Magic at Bucks picks and predictions

Prediction

Bucks 110, Magic 109

Moneyline

The Bucks (-300) are the healthier team and are at home, but I question how seriously they’re taking the In-Season Tournament. Milwaukee’s goal this season should be to stay healthy in the regular season and make a push for the NBA Finals.

Do I really want to lay -300 on it, in a game that the young Magic will likely care more about winning?

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Magic were available at +9 Sunday night, so this line has moved considerably in their direction. However, I would still be comfortable taking 6.5 with Orlando.

The Bucks core — outside of G Damian Lillard — has already won a championship, and I don’t see how winning the NBA Cup this season would provide any extra motivation for such a veteran team.

Orlando, on the other hand, is full of young players who have yet to win rings or MVPs, so winning this NBA Cup would be a big deal for them. If you crunch the stats, you’ll likely say this spread is perfect as is, but I believe the Magic’s lack of accomplishments gives them a motivational edge Tuesday.

BET MAGIC +6.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Magic allow just 103.3 points per game, which is first in the NBA, but they’re still 6-4 O/U in their last 10. The market has been pricing their totals slightly lower than they should be lately, but it’s a marginal edge; the spread is the better play.

LEAN OVER 215.5 (-105).

Phoenix Suns at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Phoenix Suns at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Phoenix Suns (12-10) and Orlando Magic (16-9) meet Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Suns vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Magic lead 1-0

The Suns are coming off a 121-111 loss as 5.5-point underdogs at the Miami Heat Saturday with the Over (224) hitting. The Suns are 0-2 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in their last 2 games.

The Magic lost 102-94 as 3-point favorites at the Philadelphia 76ers Friday as the Under (208) cashed. Orlando is 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS over its last 3 games, but is 7-2 SU and 6-3 ATS in its last 9.

In a Nov. 18 meeting, the Magic won 109-99 as 4.5-point favorites at Phoenix while the Under (212) hit. Suns G Bradley Beal and F Kevin Durant were out with calf injuries.

Suns at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 104, Magic 103

Moneyline

Wagner scored a game-high 32 points in the Nov. 18 meeting, but will miss Sunday with an oblique injury. Orlando was also a 4.5-point road favorite when it covered Nov. 18, and now it is favored by just 2.5 points at home. The move is obviously correct, but I feel this game is even closer to a true coin toss.

BET PHOENIX (+115) to get its revenge with Beal back in the lineup Sunday.

Against the spread

There’s nothing wrong with taking the 2.5; I just prefer getting +115 on a game that I believe should be a pick ’em.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

With so many injuries — and Orlando’s first-ranked defense — the Under is the only way we should be looking at this game initially. However, this line opened at 212.5 Sunday morning, so we won’t be getting the best of the number. I won’t be betting the total, but I definitely don’t like the Over.

LEAN UNDER 210.5 (-115).

Magic at 76ers picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 107, 76ers 105

Moneyline

Maxey averaged 27.7 PPG in 3 games against Orlando last year. I really want to rock with Philly because I think Maxey could will this team to victory without Embiid and PG13. However, the Sixers don’t have the frontline to keep the Wagners under wraps.

Take TYRESE MAXEY OVER 25.5 POINTS (-110), and I would consider taking a chance on Maxey to hit 30 (+160).

Against the spread

As mentioned, I like the Sixers here, but I just can’t get over the hump to take the ML. So I’ll rock with Maxey to pull the cover here. Orlando beat them by 12 in Orlando last month, but Maxey watched that one from the sidelines. He’ll use that experience to lead the charge.

Take the SIXERS +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Even without Banchero, the Magic have eclipsed 100 in 7 of 8 games, and the Over has cashed in 5 of those. The Sixers have hit the Over in 3 of 4.

This is a hittable number, and I look for a fast pace with Maxey running the point.

Take the OVER 207.5 (-115).

Magic at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 119, Knicks 116

Moneyline

BET MAGIC (+155).

Orlando is too hot to bet against right now, especially as an underdog. It is 9-1 in its last 10 games and on a 6-game winning streak. The Magic have won 4 straight road games. They’ve scored 123 or more points in 2 of their last 3 games and allowed 100 or fewer in 4 of their last 5.

New York has dropped 2 of its last 5 games and allowed 118 or more points in 3 of its last 5.

Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline has the best value on the Magic.

Over/Under

BET OVER 214.5 (-115).

While both teams have played well defensively, they also each have strong offenses, which could easily help the Over hit. The Magic have scored 111 or more points in 4 of their last 6 games, including 123 or more in 2 of their last 3, while the Knicks have scored 114 or more in 3 of their last 4.

Season series: Magic lead 1-0 with 116-101 win at home Oct. 25

The Nets ended a 4-game road trip by beating the Phoenix Suns 127-117 Wednesday, closing as a 9-point road underdog. G Tyrese Martin scored a team-high 30 points. Brooklyn has won 3 straight games, closing as an underdog of 9 points or more in each of those victories. It is 13-5-1 against the spread (ATS).

Magic at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 112, Nets 103

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no good value on the moneyline. The Magic (-275) are too expensive to take and have been on fire over the last few weeks. While the Nets (+225) could be worth a look given their form, they aren’t the preferred side here.

Avoid a moneyline play.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -7.5 (-110).

The Magic have been on a heater and have covered in 4 straight games. To add to that, they have covered as a favorite of 4 points or more in 7 straight games. Orlando is 3-1 ATS in its last 4 road games.

The Nets, despite their recent success, are just 4-3-1 ATS in their last 8. They have failed to cover 3 of their last 4 at home. Brooklyn could be missing 3 of its top 4 scoring options as well.

Take the healthier road side and back MAGIC -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 211.5 (-110).

The Nets are 3-2 O/U in their last 5 games and have scored at least 127 points in 2 straight. Brooklyn’s offense has been red hot, but its defense has been awful, allowing at least 113 points in 7 of its last 8 contests.

The Magic are 3-1 O/U in their last 4 games and have scored at least 111 points 3 times. They have allowed at least 118 points in 2 of their last 4 as well. Couple that all together and back OVER 211.5 (-110).
