Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Detroit Pistons (7-10) and Orlando Magic (10-7) meet Saturday. Tip-off from Kia Center is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pistons vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Magic swept 4-0 last season

Detroit suffered a 123-121 OT loss at the Charlotte Hornets Thursday as a 2-point favorite. G Cade Cunningham put up 27 points, 10 assists, and 7 boards in the loss, but his 9-of-26 shooting from the field and the Pistons’ 19 turnovers proved to be fatal. The Pistons have lost back-to-back games.

Orlando escaped with a 119-118 win at the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday as a 5-point underdog. F Franz Wagner put up an impressive 37 points with 11 assists to help the Magic overcome their 17 turnovers in the win. Missed free throws in the clutch from Lakers F/C Anthony Davis directly led to Orlando’s win.

Pistons at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 102, Pistons 91

Moneyline

PASS.

With Cunningham out, the Magic (-450) will easily win, but they are not worth the risk of betting on as such heavy favorites. Pass here, and bet the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -9.5 (-105).

Orlando has covered the spread in 7 of its last 8 games, while the Pistons have dropped back-to-back games ATS. The Magic are also 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

Be aware that Detroit is a scrappy team, so it is very possible that the Pistons could cover here even with Cunningham out.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 207.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of Detroit’s last 4 games and is 6-4 in its last 10. For Orlando, the Under is 7-1 in its last 8 games.

The Under is also 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and has hit in 4 straight.

Orlando is third in defensive efficiency this season, so with Cunningham out for Detroit, the Under is an obvious bet here.

Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Lakers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Lakers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Orlando Magic (9-7) and Los Angeles Lakers (10-4) meet Thursday. Tip-off from Crypto.com Arena is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Lakers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; split 1-1 last season

The Magic are coming off a 104-93 setback as 3-point favorites at the LA Clippers Wednesday with the Under (205) hitting. The loss snapped a 6-game straight-up (SU)/against-the-spread (ATS) win streak for Orlando.

The Lakers failed to cover as 10.5-point favorites in a 124-118 win over the visiting Utah Jazz Tuesday while the Over (234) cashed. Rookie G Dalton Knecht had a career-high 37 points and tied the NBA’s single-game rookie record with 9 made 3s.

Orlando covered and the Under hit in both meetings last season, with the home team cashing on the moneyline (ML) in both matchups.

In the final meeting Nov. 4, 2023, Orlando won 120-101 as a 3.5-point underdog while the Under (222.5) hit. Magic F Franz Wagner had a team-high 26 points while F Paolo Banchero — who is out Thursday with an oblique injury — added 25 points, 10 assists and 7 boards.

Magic at Lakers picks and predictions

Prediction

Lakers 106, Magic 105

Moneyline

The Lakers (-200) will likely win their 7th straight game, but the bid-ask difference is too high to bet the ML.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

The Lakers have won 6 consecutive games SU, but they have only covered 1 of their last 4. They’ve been favored in 6 straight — and rightfully so — but have been overvalued on the spread in recent games.

The Magic are coming off a double-digit loss as road favorites Wednesday. It’s time to buy low on Orlando, which was among the hottest teams in the league before Wednesday’s loss.

BET MAGIC +4.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under has hit in the last 3 meetings and in 7 straight overall for the Magic. Orlando is second in the NBA in defensive efficiency (only behind the Oklahoma City Thunder), and I want no part of betting the Over in a Magic game until something fundamentally changes with their defense.

BET UNDER 216.5 (-110).

Orlando Magic at LA Clippers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at LA Clippers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Orlando Magic (9-6) and LA Clippers (8-7) meet Wednesday. Tip-off from Intuit Dome is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Clippers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Clippers swept 2-0 last season

The Magic are coming off a 109-99 win as 4.5-point favorites at the Phoenix Suns Monday with the Under (212) hitting. F Franz Wagner had a game-high 32 points for Orlando, which has won and covered 6 straight games.

The Clippers upset the visiting Golden State Warriors 102-99 as 5-point underdogs Monday while the Under (226) cashed. G Norman Powell led LA with 23 points, but he’ll be sidelined Wednesday with a hamstring injury.

The Clippers covered both meetings last season as the Over/Under (O/U) went 0-1-1. In the final meeting March 29, LA won 100-97 as a 1.5-point favorite at Orlando while the Under (212.5) hit. F Kawhi Leonard, who has not played this season due to a knee injury, led all scorers with 29 points in the March victory.

Magic at Clippers picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 103, Clippers 100

Moneyline

I want no part of betting the Clippers without Powell, who is having a career year averaging 23.3 points per game on 48.7-percent shooting from 3.

The Magic are among the hottest teams in the league right now and will be looking for revenge after dropping both meetings last season.

BET MAGIC (-165).

Against the spread

This seems like the perfect number to me. If I were forced to bet it, I would lean Magic -3.5 (-110), but the ML at -165 is definitely the safer option.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

This number is a little low, but how productive will the Clippers offense be without its scoring leader this season in Powell? The O/U is already 5-10 on the season for LA and 6-9 for Orlando.

The final meeting last season had just 197 total points scored, and Wednesday should play out in a similar fashion.

BET UNDER 205.5 (-110).

Analyzing Monday’s Orlando Magic at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Phoenix Suns (9-5) welcome the Orlando Magic (8-6) to Footprint Center Monday. Tip is set for 9 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Suns odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; tied 1-1 last season

The Magic beat the Philadelphia 76ers 98-86 Friday, closing as a 2.5-point home underdog. They were led by F Franz Wagner, who scored a game-high 31 points on 10-of-23 shooting. Orlando has rattled off 5 straight wins going 5-0 against the spread (ATS). This streak follows a 5-game losing streak.

The Suns lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 120-117 Sunday as a 7.5-point road underdog. They were without 2 of their 3 stars and were led by G Devin Booker, who put up a game-high 44 points. Phoenix has lost 3 in a row yet is 8-4 straight up over its last 12. It is 5-9 ATS on the season.

Magic at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 101, Magic 96

Moneyline

PASS.

While the moneyline for both sides is playable, the Magic haven’t performed well on the road, so they aren’t worth a play as a moderate favorite. Similarly, the Suns are better played on the spread.

Against the spread

BET SUNS +1.5 (-110).

The Magic are riding a 5-game win streak, but all 5 wins were at home. They are 1-6 ATS and 1-6 straight up on the road. Orlando has lost to playoff contenders like the Cleveland Cavaliers and non-contenders like the Chicago Bulls.

The Suns have won 5 of their last 6 at home. Without 2 of their stars, they are getting a playable value here. Phoenix has scored at least 114 points in six of its last 8 games, so it has the firepower to score on a stiff Orlando defense. With that in mind, back SUNS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 209.5 (-110).

The Suns are 4-2 O/U in their last 6 games. They are without 2 top scoreers and will be playing one of the best defenses in the NBA. Orlando has held its opponents to under 100 in 5 straight games.

The Magic are averaging 96 points per game over their last 2 games and have gone under 100 in 4 of their last 8 games. Considering those trends, back UNDER 209.5 (-110).

The Philadelphia 76ers (2-9) visit the Orlando Magic (7-6) Friday with tip-off from Kia Center set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the 76ers vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; 76ers won 3-0 last season

Philadelphia lost 114-106 to the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday while covering as an 11-point home underdog. Rookie G Jared McCain dropped 34 points and had 10 assists, but the Sixers were simply too short-handed to come away with the win. Philadelphia has been held under 110 points in 5 straight games.

Orlando escaped with a 94-90 win over the Indiana Pacers Wednesday while covering as a 1-point favorite. The Magic beat the Pacers 51-41 in the rebounding battle and have now won 4 straight.

76ers at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 107, Magic 100

Moneyline

LEAN 76ERS (-105).

With both Banchero and Carter out, the Magic don’t have nearly enough bodies to guard former MVP C Joel Embiid, and without that, the 76ers will be able to have their way with the Magic.

The Sixers are also 9-1 in its last 10 games against Orlando.

Against the spread

I am not a fan of backing a team on both the ML and spread, but if you need a little insurance 76ERS +1.5 (-115) is not out of line.

The 76ers have dominated Orlando recently, covering the spread in 4 straight meetings and going 8-2 ATS in the last 10.

With Banchero out, Orlando will be missing its only consistent option offensively, so the 76ers will have a great chance at covering.

But be aware that Philadelphia is only 3-8 ATS this season.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 213.5 (-110).

Orlando is arguably the NBA’s best defensive team, allowing just 103.7  points per game (PPG), It has held each of its last 4 opponents to under 100 points. Orlando and Philadelphia are also abysmal offensively, both averaging under 108 PPG. Even with my expectation that Embiid will play more like his MVP self, the Under is still a safe bet here.

Be aware the Over has hit in back-to-back meetings between these squads.

Indiana Pacers at Orlando Magic odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Indiana Pacers at Orlando Magic odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Indiana Pacers (5-5) take on the Orlando Magic (6-6) Wednesday at Kia Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pacers vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Pacers have won 3 of 4 after a 132-121 shootout against the New York Knicks Sunday. G Tyrese Haliburton has shrugged off his early season shooting woes and dropped 35 points and 14 dimes. F Bennedict Mathurin busted out 38 points and 8 boards. Add in C Myles Turner dropping 26 on 5-for-8 shooting from 3-point land, and that’s a recipe not many opposing teams can overcome.

The Magic have won 3 in a row after losing to these Pacers 118-111 Nov. 6. They clipped the Charlotte Hornets’ wings in a 114-89 drubbing Tuesday night. They are battling and grinding without their best player in F Paolo Banchero (oblique), who remains out for this one. F Franz Wagner had 32 points, 8 boards, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Pacers at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 119, Magic 116

Moneyline

It’s a little surprising to see a Magic team without its best player on the back end of a back-to-back in a pick ’em against a team that has dropped 132+ in half of their last 6 games. So I like the Pacers here, but the spread is more fruitful.

Instead, take BENNEDICT MATHURIN OVER 26.5 POINTS+REBOUNDS+ASSISTS (-120). He has 20+ points in 3 straight games.

Against the spread

Take the PACERS ALTERNATE SPREAD -1.5 (+110) here. The Magic got them in this building 119-115 Oct. 28, but that was during Haliburton’s shooting woes and Banchero dropped 50. Neither of those are a factor now.

Over/Under

Both meetings between these teams went Over, and both totals were higher than this one. Indy is 7-3 O/U in its last 10, and Orlando has had just 1 Over cash in its last 6. The question is whether Indiana can score enough to tip this Over, and I think that’s on tap.

Take the OVER 223.5 (-110).

Season series: First meeting; Magic went 4-0 last season

The Wizards dropped their third straight game Friday, losing 128-104 to the Memphis Grizzlies. They failed to cover as 7.5-point underdogs with the  Over (231.5) cashing. G Kyshawn George led Washington off the bench, scoring 17 points along with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

The Magic snapped a 5-game losing streak on Friday with a decisive 115-88 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, covering as 8.5-point home favorites and staying Under the 210 total. Orlando dominated in the paint, outscoring New Orleans 74-30. F Franz Wagner led with 27 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

Wizards at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 114, Wizards 108

Moneyline

PASS.

Both teams have struggled, losing 12 of their last 15 games combined. The Magic as big favorites feels risky, but I’m not confident enough in the Wizards to take the plus odds.

Against the spread

AVOID.

Orlando dominated Washington last season, but is without star F Paolo Banchero. The Wizards, in rebuild mode, have shown potential yet lack offensive leader Kuzma. Both teams are struggling, with Washington failing to cover their last 3 ATS and Orlando covering just once in their last 8 games. Without a clear pick, I’ll focus on the total points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 219.5 (-110).

I’ve focused my attention on the total in this game, especially after seeing the line has dropped 3 points since opening and it’s a reasonable target by NBA standards. The Over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 meetings. The Wizards have hit the Over in 5 of their last 6 games and the Magic in 6 of 10 this season. Washington’s defense is allowing the second-most points per game (123.9) and has given up 125-plus points in 3 of its last 4. This game should go Over.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Orlando Magic (3-6) welcome the New Orleans Pelicans (3-6) to the Kia Center Friday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Pelicans vs. Magic odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Magic won both meetings last season

The Magic started the season off hot, winning 3 of their first 4 games, but cooled quickly and have lost 5 in a row. The latest was a 118-111 loss at the Indiana Pacers Wednesday, closing as a 5.5-point road underdog. The good news is they scored more than 86 points which it failed to do in the prevoous 2 losses. The Magic are undefeated at home, going 2-0 straight up and 1-1 against the spread (ATS).

The Pelicans lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 131-122 Wednesday, dropping their third straight game. They are 0-3 ATS in those, closing as a 6.5-point underdog against the Cavs. New Orleans is 1-3 straight up on the road and 0-4 ATS in away games. It has scored 111 points or more in 3 of its last 4  games, but has allowed at least 118 in all 4 of those. The Pelicans are led by F Brandon Ingram (24.1 points per game) and F Zion Williamson (22.7 PPG).

Pelicans at Magic picks and predictions

Prediction

Magic 116, Pelicans 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic are too expensive to play here, and given how they’ve struggled without Banchero, they aren’t worth playing as a significant moneyline favorite. Similarly, the Pelicans are down too many key weapons to assume they can pull off the upset.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC -4.5 (-110).

The Pelicans have struggled the past week, and it hasn’t been against just strong teams either. They lost by 18 at home to the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday and by 15 at home to the Atlanta Hawks Monday. They are 0-3 ATS in their last three, 0-4 ATS on the road and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games.

The Magic have had offensive issues without Banchoro, scoring 86 or fewer points twice in the last 4 games, but they have been terrific at home. Orlando has scored 117.5 points per game in its 2 home games. Considering those trends, back MAGIC -4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET OVER 213.5 (-110).

The Magic are 6-3 O/U on the season and 2-0 O/U at home. They are figuring their offense out without their star as well, putting up 111 on the road against the Pacers in their last game. The Magic’s 3 top scorers after Banchero are shooting at least 45% from the field, so the efficiency is still there.

The Pelicans have been down right awful on defense, allowing at least 126 points in 2 of their last 3 games and at least 118 points in 6 of their last 7 games. As a result, they are 6-3 O/U. New Orleans has scored at least 122 points in 2 of its last 4 games. With all that in mind, back OVER 215.5 (-110).

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Indiana Pacers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Orlando Magic (3-5) take on the Indiana Pacers (3-4) Wednesday. Tip-off from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Pacers odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orlando leads 1-0

Orlando was dominated 102-86 Monday by the Oklahoma City Thunder, failing to cover as a 12.5-point road underdog with the Under 217.5) hitting. It was the Magic’s fourth consecutive loss and their third straight game without leading scorer F Paolo Banchero, who is out several weeks with a torn right oblique. F Franz Wagner has stepped up and finished as the team’s leading scorer in each of their last 2 games.

Indiana beat the Dallas Mavericks 134-127 Monday, covering as a 4.5-point road underdog. C Myles Turner dropped 30 points and 11 boards — both team-highs — while G Tyrese Haliburton added 25 points and F Pascal Siakam finished with 23. The Pacers have alternated wins and losses over their last 4 games.

Magic at Pacers picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 119, Magic 108

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Pacers (-275) are the better team, while the Magic (+220) have injury issues, including one to their leading scorer.

Indiana will win, but the -275 price is not worth the risk. PASS and bet the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

BET PACERS -6.5 (-110).

Indiana has covered the spread in 3 of its last 4 games. The Magic have dropped 6 straight ATS, while going 1-5 straight up.

This game is the perfect opportunity for the Pacers to continue building some momentum and getting their confidence back after a disappointing 1-4 start to the season.

Expect the Pacers to beat the injured Magic by a solid margin here.

Orlando is still a good team, and Indiana is struggling defensively — giving up the fourth most points in the league (121.9 per game), so understand that there is some risk with this bet.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 225.5 (-115).

Indiana’s offense is very good, averaging 118.4 points per game to rank 5th in the NBA. They Pacers have played 5 Overs in a row. As mentioned above, their defense gives up too many points.

With Banchero out, Orlando’s defense gets a bit worse, so look for Indiana’s offense to carry the Over here.

This is a lean because Orlando is a very good defensive team and because the Magic will be missing Banchero’s 29.0 points per game.

Magic at Thunder picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 119, Magic 102

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Thunder (-750) to remain undefeated Monday.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER -12.5 (-105).

Orlando has failed to cover in 5 straight games overall, including 4 road games and 2 as an underdog. Orlando has looked lost and has not won a game since Banchero went down with an oblique injury.

Oklahoma City has covered in 5 of its 6 games this season and won all 6 by 12 or more points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 215.5 (-110).

The Magic have hit the Over in 5 of their 7 games this season while allowing 115 or more points in 3 of their last 5.

The Thunder have hit the Over in 2 of their last 4 games while scoring 114 or more points in 3 of their last 5. Oklahoma City will need to carry the load in this matchup, which it is more than equipped to do.
