Orlando Guardians at St. Louis Battlehawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Guardians at St. Louis Battlehawks odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Guardians (1-8) and the St. Louis Battlehawks (6-3) meet Saturday in a regular-season finale in Week 10. Kickoff from The Dome at America’s Center is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Battlehawks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Guardians suffered a disappointing 25-23 setback at the San Antonio Brahmas in Week 9. Orlando pushed as a 2-point underdog and is 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in its past 5 games. The Guardians are on a 5-1 Over run in their last 6 contests — their Week 9 O/U line was 38.5.

The Battlehawks were bounced at home 30-12 last week by the Seattle Sea Dragons in a very disappointing result. The 12 points were a season low for St. Louis, while the 30 points were the 2nd-most it allowed this year. The Under is on a 4-0 run for the Battlehawks.

Guardians at Battlehawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Battlehawks 30, Guardians 19

Moneyline

The Battlehawks (-400) are fighting for a playoff position, while the Guardians (+300) are eliminated from the postseason chase. Still, while St. Louis is expected to win, you cannot risk 4 times your potential return.

Remember, this is an Orlando side with just 1 win, but it came against the North Division champ DC Defenders in Week 7.

AVOID.

Against the spread

ST. LOUIS -9 (-110) will be going all out as it is fighting with Seattle for the 2nd playoff spot in the North Division. The two are tied at 6-3 and they split their 2 regular-season contests.

If both lose this weekend, St. Louis wins the tiebreaker based on a better division record.

If they both win, it’s a little more complicated and will likely come down to the 3rd tiebreaker (strength of victory in all games – combined record of opponents in win) or the 4th tiebreaker (best combined ranking among division teams in points scored and points allowed in all games).

Both are playing eliminated teams in this final week. Seattle hosts the Vegas Vipers (2-7) Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.

The Battlehawks won’t want to take any chances and likely will be pass-happy right out of the chute against a Guardians defense that has allowed 25 or more points in 7 of its 9 games

St. Louis has failed to cover each of the past 2 outings, and it is just 1-3 ATS in 4 home games this season. However, with a playoff spot on the line, look for the Battlehawks to take care of business.

Over/Under

OVER 48 (-110) is the lean.

There is very little concern that the Battlehawks will be able to score. The question is: Will the Guardians be able to hang?

St. Louis was toasted for 30 points last week by a solid Seattle offense, but prior to that, the Battlehawks had allowed just 12.7 points per game in the previous 3 contests. The Under is on a 4-0 run for St. Louis, too, so be careful.

Orlando Guardians at San Antonio Brahmas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Guardians at San Antonio Brahmas odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Guardians (1-7) and the San Antonio Brahmas (2-6) meet Saturday in a Week 9 matchup. Kickoff from the Alamodome is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Brahmas odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Guardians are eliminated from the playoff hunt. Despite the worst record in the XFL, the Guardians are not quitting. And Orlando has been one of the more dependable teams at the betting window, going 3-1 against the spread (ATS) across the past 4 games overall.

The Brahmas are still mathematically alive for a postseason spot despite being 4 games under .500 with just 2 games to play. Like Orlando, San Antonio has been dependable for bettors, going 2-1 ATS in the past 3 games. More importantly, the total has gone Under in 6 consecutive outings and 7 of 8 games overall.

San Antonio won the 1st meeting in Week 2 by a 30-12 score, covering a 3.5-point number as the Over (37.5) connected.

Guardians at Brahmas picks and predictions

Prediction

Guardians 25, Brahmas 19

Moneyline

The GUARDIANS (+105) are out of the playoff hunt, but head coach Terrell Buckley’s team has been playing hard down the stretch. Orlando surprised previously unbeaten DC in Week 7, and it played Arlington tough last week. Despite going 1-3 SU, Orlando is 3-1 ATS in the past 4 games, and all 4 games have been decided by one score.

Against the spread

The GUARDIANS +1.5 (-110) are not as good of a value as just taking them straight up on the money line. The ML play is the better option unless you’re dead set on believing the Brahmas -1.5 (-110) will win by just a single point.

Over/Under

OVER 39 (-110) is the lean. Orlando has cashed the Over in 4 of the past 5 games, posting 26.0 PPG across the past 4 outings. The defense has allowed 31.8 PPG across the past 5 games for the Guardians, too.

For the Brahmas, it has been all about the Under, cashing in 6 straight. The lone Over in San Antonio’s 8 games this season was a 30-12 win in Orlando in Week 2.

Renegades at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Guardians 27, Renegades 20

Moneyline

The Renegades have not scored more than 15 points since their opener and have lost 2 straight, while the Guardians put 37 on the board last week and picked up their 1st win.

We are backing the Guardians to win this game, but with a short spread and better value, PASS on the moneyline.

Against the spread

The Guardians have averaged 29.3 points in their last 3 games. QB Quinten Dormady has 5 touchdown passes in his last 3 games.

The Renegades released QB Kyle Sloter and placed QB Drew Plitt on the injured list, adding Kelly Bryant to the roster.

They have only averaged 11.8 points per game in their last 6.

BET GUARDIANS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Guardians have had each of their last 4 games finish with totals higher than this game’s projection.

They have allowed an average of 35.3 points per game over their last 4 contests, but the Renegades have just struggled on offense.

But with Orlando both scoring points and giving up points, BET OVER 42.5 (-110).

Defenders at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Defenders 32, Guardians 19

Moneyline

PASS.

This is an undefeated team against a winless team. Nothing the Guardians have done this season suggests they can pull off an outright win over the undefeated Defenders.

Meanwhile, to bet the Defenders, you would have to wager 5 times what you can win.

Against the spread

Not only is D.C. undefeated, the Defenders are 5-1 ATS this season, having won by double digits 3 times this season

The Guardians are 3-3 ATS this season and allowed 30 or more points.

BET DEFENDERS -9.5 (-110),

Over/Under

The Guardians have allowed 26 or more points in 5 straight games.

The Defenders average 25.3 points per game. Three of their last 4 games have had totals of more than 45 points.

Two of the last 3 for the Guardians have had more than 45 total points.

BET OVER 45.5 (-110).

Seattle Sea Dragons at Orlando Guardians odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Seattle Sea Dragons at Orlando Guardians Week 6 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Seattle Sea Dragons (3-2) face the Orlando Guardians (0-5) Saturday in a Week 6 XFL action. Kickoff from Camping World Stadium in Orlando is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Sea Dragons vs. Guardians odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Sea Dragons are flying high after handing the Houston Roughnecks their first loss of the season by a 21-14 score in Week 5. QB Ben DiNucci tossed 3 interceptions against just 1 touchdown in the victory, although he also led the team with 33 rushing yards and added a score on the ground.

The Guardians put up a valiant effort but remain winless after a 35-32 road loss at the Vegas Vipers in Week 5. QB Quinten Dormady threw for 256 yards while tossing a pair of TDs with no miscues, and he hooked up 8 times with WR/TE Cody Latimer for 124 yards and a score.

Sea Dragons at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Sea Dragons 22, Guardians 16

Moneyline

The Sea Dragons (-410) will cost you more than 4 times your initial return, and betting heavy favorites like that is not a good long-term betting strategy, especially in the XFL where the sample size is still relatively small.

PASS.

Against the spread

The GUARDIANS +9.5 (-110) are worth a look at home, as the Sea Dragons are coming off a huge win and are likely to have a bit of a letdown.

Seattle has also committed plenty of turnovers this season despite its overall success and has elected to go for 3-point conversions on a fairly regular basis, despite rather limited success. That leaves a lot of points on the field and hurts those laying the points.

Over/Under

The UNDER 42.5 (-110) is a decent play, as Sea Dragons have cashed the Under in each of the past 2 games. It has averaged just 18.0 points per game in its last 2 outings and the defense has been suffocating with just 10 points allowed per game.

The Guardians are coming off their highest-scoring offensive outing, posting 32 points against the equally disappointing Vipers. The Over is 4-1 overall for the Guardians, so there is some risk here. However, look for the Sea Dragons to be a little sluggish after a big win last week and a cross-country trip to Central Florida.

Guardians at Vipers picks and predictions

Prediction

Guardians 24, Vipers 22

Moneyline

There isn’t much to like from either team so far this season.

Neither team has won a game. The Vipers have suffered 2 double-digit losses. The Guardians have 3.

What is odd is seeing the massive odds in favor of the Vipers.

Because both team have struggled and the outcome is a bit of a toss-up, this is the type of game where taking a swing with big positive odds is a good wager.

Why not the Guardians?

BET GUARDIANS (+265).

Against the spread

Two weeks ago, the Guardians lost a 1-point game to Arlington.

Vegas has a 2-point loss and a 4-point loss.

If you aren’t comfortable enough to bet big on the visiting Guardians, consider betting them on the spread, expecting at least a close game between 2 struggling teams.

BET GUARDIANS +7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Three of the Guardians’ 4 games this season have had totals higher than tonight’s projection.

The same is the case for the Vipers.

The Guardians allow 29 points per game.

BET OVER 41.5 (-115).

Houston Roughnecks at Orlando Guardians odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Houston Roughnecks at Orlando Guardians Week 4 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Houston Roughnecks (3-0) visit the Orlando Guardians (0-3) in Week 4 on Saturday. Kick from Camping World Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Roughnecks vs. Guardians odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Roughnecks have had an impressive start to their season with a 3-0 record thus far. In Week 1, they toppled Orlando 33-12 and followed that up with a 23-14 home win in Week 2 and a 22-13 home victory in Week 3. This week will be their first road game of the season.

Orlando has struggled mightily this season. It is 0-3 and before last week had not kept a game within 18 points, opening up the season with a 33-12 loss followed by a Week 2 30-12 loss. Last week, the Guardians fell 10-9 in yet another rough offensive showing.

Roughnecks at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Roughnecks 24, Guardians 9

Moneyline

PASS.

At 4 times the risk as the potential return, the moneyline is not playable in this matchup.

Against the spread

BET ROUGHNECKS -9 (-110).

In their 3 wins this year, the Roughnecks have averaged a winning margin of 13 points. In the Guardians’ 3 losses this year, they have averaged a losing margin of 13.33 points. Expect the Roughnecks to roll through the Guardians and cover this spread.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 37.5 (-108).

The Guardians have struggled offensively this season, scoring 12 or fewer points in each of their 3 games. Houston started the season hot scoring 34 points but has scored 23 and 22 points, respectively, in Weeks 2 and 3.

While Houston toppled Orlando 33-12 at home in Week 1, it is yet to be seen how they will perform on the road. While another blowout is likely, its offense has slowed in the weeks following.

Guardians at Renegades picks and predictions

Prediction

Renegades 20, Guardians 13

Moneyline

The Guardians have been blown out twice, scoring only 12 points in each game this season.

The Renegades are 1-0 at home and have only lost to the unbeaten Roughnecks.

Don’t expect the Guardians to be able to get an outright win, but the line doesn’t make any action on the Renegadees worth it.

PASS.

Against the spread

Neither team has covered the spread yet through 2 games, and the Guardians have lost both games by at least 18 points.

The Renegades’ only win was by 2 points so expecting them to win by more than a TD might be too much.

BET GUARDIANS +7.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Both of Orlando’s games this season have had more than 37 points. The Renegades’ season opener had 42 points and last week’s loss had only 37.

The Guardians have not scored more than 12 points in a game this season.

BET UNDER 37.5 (-120).

San Antonio Brahmas at Orlando Guardians odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s San Antonio Brahmas at Orlando Guardians odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Antonio Brahmas (0-1) and the Orlando Guardians (0-1) meet Sunday for a Week 2 matchup at Camping World Stadium in Orlando with kickoff at 4 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Brahmas vs. Guardians odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Brahmas lost 18-15 to the St. Louis Battlehawks in last week’s opener. San Antonio led 12-3 at one point, but St. Louis rattled off 15 unanswered points in the final 85 seconds to steal a win. San Antonio did cover as 3.5-point underdogs and the Under 36.5 hit.

The Guardians started out fine last week, taking a 6-0 lead over the Houston Roughnecks. But Houston ended up rolling to a 33-12 win as 3.5-point favorites, while Orlando benched starting QB Paxton Lynch in favor of Quinten Dormady. It didn’t make much of a difference, as Dormady tossed a pair of picks.

Brahmas at Guardians picks and predictions

Prediction

Brahmas 23, Guardians 18

Money line

The Brahmas (-180) are a little too expensive, especially since San Antonio crumbled late last week when it mattered most.

San Antonio hits the road to face a Guardians (+145) team which was very giving last week. The offensive line struggled, however, and the offensive line is a little banged up for the Brahmas, so that’s a concern, too.

PASS.

Against the spread

The BRAHMAS -3.5 (-110) are graced with a pair of solid RBs in Kalen Ballage and Jacques Patrick, and they should each find plenty of running room against what was a weak Guardians +3.5 (-110) defense.

The Guardians +3.5 (-110) plan to start Lynch again under center, but the Orlando quarterback situation is a fluid one, and that’s not good. The pass rush for San Antonio got to QB A.J. McCarron of the Battlehawks on 5 occasions, too, so look for that to be a big factor as well.

Over/Under

The OVER 37.5 (-108) is the play, as it cashed in 3 of the 4 games in Week 1, as well as cashing in the St. Louis-Seattle game Thursday night.

It seems the offenses are a little ahead of the defenses in the early going, and these totals in the 30’s are a tad low. Take advantage.

Orlando Guardians at Houston Roughnecks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Guardians at Houston Roughnecks Week 1 odds and lines, with expert XFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Guardians visit the Houston Roughnecks Saturday on the opening day of the 2023 XFL season. Kickoff from TDECU Stadium is at 8:30 p.m. ET (FX/ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Roughnecks odds, and make our expert XFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Guardians are led by coach Terrell Buckley and have one of the league’s most notable starting quarterbacks in Paxton Lynch. Lynch was a 1st-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2016 but struggled in the NFL and did not impress with the Michigan Panthers of the USFL last year.

The Roughnecks were a perfect 5-0 in 2020 before the XFL shut down. They are led by legendary coach Wade Phillips, who made a name in the NFL for his defenses. QB Brandon Silvers is the starter for Houston.

Guardians at Roughnecks picks and predictions

Prediction

Roughnecks 20, Guardians 13

Money line

Lynch has NFL experience but Phillips’ proven defensive scheme should be difficult to overcome in a season opener on the road. It is more likely the defenses are ahead of the offenses this early in the season.

Plus, Phillips’ vast experience as a successful NFL coach will help him keep things cool in an emotional opener.

However, with the line where it is, it is not a good bet value-wise to take Houston (-170) on the moneyline with such little information on how things will actually play out. PASS.

Against the spread

Can the Roughnecks win by more than a field goal?

It is the beginning of a league reboot and teams have not been together long. Houston has the coaching experience advantage and is at home.

We will know more about both teams once games are played, but to start things off, BET ROUGHNECKS -3.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Teams will likely look rough. Offenses will probably be a little off with their timing and Phillips’ defenses are always good.

I don’t expect a lot of points in this game.

BET UNDER 35.5 (-115).
