Recruiting Party: Updated list of prospects visiting for No. 6 Oregon vs. No. 25 Washington game

Another long list of top-rated prospects coming to Eugene this weekend for Oregon vs. Washington, headlined by a pair of five-stars.

Whichever way you want to look at it, the showdown between the No. 6 Oregon Ducks and No. 25 Washington Huskies is going to be of utmost importance on Saturday.

This matchup will have major ramifications in the College Football Playoff world. This is one of the Ducks’ biggest remaining tests. Dan Lanning and Kalen DeBoer are in their first seasons at the schools; each is trying to gain an early leg up in the heated rivalry. And then, you have the rivalry. If you don’t know what’s at stake when Oregon plays Washington, you haven’t been paying very close attention.

On top of everything, this is another major recruiting weekend for the Ducks. As the week has gone by, we’ve seen more and more top-rated prospects in the nation announce that they are traveling to Eugene this weekend for both official and unofficial visits. We’ve even reported that a five-star player ranked No. 1 at his position will take a trip on his own dime to see the Ducks play, even though he is committed to another school.

So who’s going to be on campus? Take a look at our updated list of visitors:

SIGNED: Dana Altman’s Ducks put pen to paper on No. 7 ranked recruiting class in nation

A lot of talent coming to Eugene with three top-50 players in the 2023 class, including two top-12 players in the nation.

The newest class of Oregon Ducks put pen to paper on Wednesday afternoon, making it official that they will be coming to Eugene to play for Dana Altman next season.

The early period of national signing for college basketball started on Wednesday, which saw the Ducks add 5-star PF Kwame Evans, 5-star SF Mookie Cook, and 4-star PG Jackson Shelstad. The group of new Ducks ranks as the No. 7 recruiting class in the nation during the 2023 cycle.

The 2023 recruiting cycle is far from over, as recruits have until May 17, 2023, to commit and sign. At the moment, though, the Ducks should feel extremely confident about who they are bringing into the fold.

Let’s take a closer look at who the Ducks are getting in the three prospects:

Oregon Ducks expecting visit from 5-star DL ranked No. 1 in the 2023 class

Big news on the recruiting front. According to @ZacharyCNeel, the Ducks are expecting an unofficial visit from Texas A&M 5-star DL David Hicks this weekend.

The Oregon Ducks are expecting a big-time visitor for this weekend’s game against the Washington Huskies.

Sources have confirmed that five-star David Hicks, the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2023 class and No. 9 overall player in the nation, is taking an unofficial visit to Eugene. Hicks is committed to Texas A&M, but the Ducks have remained aggressive in his recruitment and sources indicate they are not out of the running for his signature.

At 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, Hicks would be a monstrous addition to Oregon’s defensive line next year. This would be his third visit to Eugene, where he has been impressed before.

“I’m a key part of their defensive plans,” Hicks said in an interview with On3 earlier this fall. “I’ve been talking to all of their coaches and hearing about how they want to use me in their defense.”

If an Oregon fan were to get ambitious and plug a flip from Hicks into the 247Sports class calculator, the Ducks would see their 2023 class jump from No. 12 in the nation to No. 9 in the nation, just behind the Oklahoma Sooners.

More recruits are bound to start announcing their plans to visit Eugene this weekend, but the main attraction has been set.

5-star SF Andrej Stojakovic announces college commitment

5-star SF Andrej Stojakovic announced his college commitment on Monday afternoon.

The Oregon Ducks took a tough loss on Monday afternoon, with 5-star small forward Andrej Stojakovic announcing that he would be committing to the Stanford Cardinal rather than coming to Eugene.

Stojakovic chose the Cardinal over the Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and UCLA Bruins.

Stojakovic stands at 6-foot-7 and is rated as the No. 17 overall player in the 2023 class.

Stojakovic attended the Oregon vs. BYU game earlier this month, getting a sideline pass with his dad, former NBA legend Peja Stojakovic, a three-time NBA All-Star and NBA Finals winner in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks.

After the game was over, video surfaced of both Andrej and Peja getting some shots up in Matthew Knight Arena.

In the end, Oregon couldn’t land Stojakovic. However, they still boast the No. 7 ranked class in the 2023 cycle, with 5-star Kwame Evans and 5-star Mookie Cook leading the way.

5-star SF Andrej Stojakovic announces commitment date

5-star SF Andrej Stojakovic will announce his commitment in the coming days, with Oregon in the running.

Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks could be getting some big-time news in the recruiting world over the next few days, with 5-star SF Andrej Stojakovic announcing that he will be making his commitment on November 7.

Stojakovic, who is rated as the No. 17 overall player in the 2023 class, will be choosing between Oregon, UCLA, Texas, and Stanford.

Stojakovic attended the Oregon vs. BYU game earlier this month, getting a sideline pass with his dad, former NBA legend Peja Stojakovic, a three-time NBA All-Star and NBA Finals winner in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks.

At long last we will get to see where the blue-chip SF will be playing his college ball in due time.

Recent Wisconsin WR decommit now overwhelmingly favored to land with Oregon

The Ducks could be in line to add another WR to the 2023 class after a recent de-commitment from Wisconsin.

It won’t technically go down as a flip if it happens, but the Oregon Ducks are virtually on flip watch for 3-star wide receiver Trech Kekahuna, a fast-rising prospect who announced his de-commitment from the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday.

Kekahuna, who is rated as the No. 185 WR in the 2023 class, committed to Wisconsin back in June, but after picking up an offer from Oregon, along with Washington State, Texas A&M, and Arizona State, opened up his recruitment once again.

According to one of the top recruiting analysts in the nation, Kekahuna is likely to join the Ducks’ 2023 class now.

247Sports analyst Steve Wiltfong has Kekahuna predicted to Oregon, as does On3’s Justin Hopkins, who predicted a flip back on October 20, before the de-commitment.

We will see in the coming weeks whether or not the Ducks can land the Hawaiian prospect.

Kelly Graves lands commitment from 2023 4-star Samantha Wagner

The Oregon Ducks landed a commitment from 4-star wing Samantha Wagner, the No. 42 player in the 2023 class.

As of late, a lot of the narrative in Oregon sports is about the recruiting power that Dan Lanning and Dana Altman possess. Kelly Graves is here to let you know that he’s still got some of the best chops in the nation.

After landing the No. 2 ranked class in the nation in the 2022 cycle, Graves is quickly building up the 2023 class, landing a commitment from 4-star wing Samantha Wagner.

According to ESPN’s rankings, Wagner is the No. 42 ranked player in the 2023 class. She will join both 4-star Sofia Bell out of Jesuit, Oregon, and 4-star Sarah Rombus, out of IMG Academi in Florida.

This success for Graves on the recruiting trail is coming a year after he signed 5-star Chance Gray, the No. 7 player and No. 2 PG in the nation, as well as 5-star Grace VanSlooten, the No. 13 player and No. 4 PF in the nation. Oregon also added 4-star Jennah Assai and 4-star Kennedy Basham to the 2022 class as well.

The Ducks will get their season started next week with a home opener against the Northwestern Wildcats at 3 p.m. PT.

Blue-chip OT announces commitment date, lists Oregon Ducks as finalist

4-star OT Spencer Fano set his commitment date. The Ducks are currently favored to land him.

The Oregon Ducks have been focusing heavily on the offensive line in the recruiting world as of late, picking up a commitment from junior college offensive lineman George Silva earlier this week and adding four-star Iapani Laloulu, three-star Lipe Moala and three-star Bryce Boulton in the past month.

Now another top OL prospect has set his commitment date, and Oregon is very much in the mix to land him after a recent visit.

Four-star OL Spencer Fano is a 6-foot-5, 270-pounder who ranks as the No. 7 OT and No. 53 overall player in the 2023 class. Fano plans to announce his commitment on Dec. 6, choosing among Oregon, Utah, BYU and Michigan.

It appears the Ducks are in a solid position to land the elite blue-chip talent. According to On3’s recruiting prediction machine, Oregon has an 88.8% chance to land Fano, holding a massive edge over the Utah Utes.

Ducks land massive commitment from 6-foot-7 JUCO lineman

Talk about a massive commitment. George Silva stands at 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, and he’s now committed to the Ducks.

The Oregon Ducks have been hot on the recruiting trail in the past few days, landing a 4-star OL in the 2023 cycle, Iapanin Laloulu, and also grabbing the top-ranked player in the state of Oregon for the 2024 class, 4-star TE A.J Pugliano

They now picked up another massive, quite literally, commitment from JUCO OL George Silva, a 6-foot-7, 300-pounder from Fullerton College.

Although it is a relatively raw product, Oregon fans should be encouraged by the prospect of what Oregon OL coach Adrian Klemm can do with Silva once he is in Eugene. The Ducks have one of the best offensive lines in the nation, and Klemm is the mastermind behind that. He’s a proven talent evaluator and tends to get the most out of his players. That should be no different with this massive OL prospect.

Ducks become early favorites to land 2024 4-star LB out of Texas

Predictions are flying in left and right for the Ducks. The latest is for Oregon to land the No. 8 LB in the 2024 class.

On Monday night, Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning was asked how he tries to balance the necessity of securing his 2023 recruiting class while also trying to get a jump-start on the 2024 class. It’s a line that many college coaches have to try and walk.

“That’s just got to be part of your everyday process,” Lanning said. “Again, there’s recruiting and there’s relationships. And that’s kind of the key. I think our staff does a great job building relationships.”

One of the relationships that Oregon has been able to build recently is with 2024 4-star linebacker Justin Williams, a blue-chip prospect from Oak Ridge Texas who is now being projected to commit to the Ducks. Williams is rated by 247Sports as the No. 8 LB in the 2024 class, and the No. 92 overall player in the nation.

After the massive weekend and big win over UCLA, the Ducks picked up not one, but two predictions to land the blue-chip linebacker, the first coming from 247Sports’ Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong:

The second prediction came from Rivals’ National Recruiting Director Nick Harris:

Things are looking good for the Ducks, especially after a big Monday where they not only added 4-star IOL Iapani Laloulu to the 2023 recruiting class, but added their first 2024 commitment — 4-star TE A.J. Pugliano, the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Oregon, and the No. 5 TE in the nation.
