SIGNED: 4-star OL Iapani Laloulu is officially a Duck

Keep it in the family. 4-star OL Iapani Laloulu, the younger brother of Oregon OL Faaope Laloulu, is officially a Duck.

Offensive line has been the talk of the town for fans in Eugene over the past year, and the Oregon Ducks just added a big body in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

4-star OL Iapani Laloulu, a 6-foot-2, 355-pounder from Hawaii, Laloulu is the younger brother of Oregon lineman Faaope Laloulu, who is currently one of the players fighting for a starting spot on the Ducks’ offensive line after four of the five starters from 2022 move on from Eugene.

Laloulu is the No. 1 player in the state of Hawaii and the No. 15 IOL in the 2023 class. It may be hard for him to see much playing time with the amount of depth at the position in Eugene, but the Ducks certainly got a great piece and play for the future with this signing.

Social Media Buzz: Oregon fans react to Ducks grabbing 5-stars Peyton Bowen, Matayo Uiagalelei

Within minutes of each other, 5-star Peyton Bowen and 5-star Matayo Uiagalelei committed to Oregon. Safe to say Duck fans EXPLODED with joy.

I’ve got to show my hand here a bit. After it was announced that 5-star safety Peyton Bowen was committing to the Oregon Ducks, flipping his commitment from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, I started writing about how big of a win it was for Dan Lanning and his staff.

And then 5 minutes later, it was announced that 5-star edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei was committing to the Ducks as well.

How about that for an early Christmas present from Dan Lanning and Co.?

As you would expect, Oregon fans went absolutely wild on social media when the announcements came out for the commitments, both of whom were not expected to land with the Ducks as recently as 2 hours ago. Here are some of the best reactions from Oregon fans on Twitter:

SIGNED: 3-star offensive lineman Bryce Boulton is officially a Duck

Oregon went into Palm Desert, Calif. to managed to sign offensive lineman Bryce Boulton.

The recruiting services don’t seem to be a fan of offensive lineman Bryce Boulton, but obviously Oregon and coach Dan Lanning sees something they do not.

At 6-3 and 255 pounds, Boulton is on the smaller side to be an offensive lineman. Being from Palm Desert, perhaps it’s the heat that kept his weight down. Once he gets to the cooler climate of Eugene, Boulton will be able to gain the pounds he needs to be an effective lineman for the Ducks.

He’s listed as an interior offensive lineman or most likely a snapper. Oregon has had a history of great long snappers, so Boulton might be the next one.

SIGNED: 3-star offensive lineman Lipe Moala is officially a Duck

Oregon was able to go into the great Mater Dei High School and scoop up its massive offensive lineman in 330-lb Lipe Moala.

When you attend Mater Dei High School and play football, you are expected to be a winner.

In Lipe Moala’s case, he’s a big winner as he is 6-foot-6 and weighs 330 pounds and is coming off back-to-back state titles. Moala is now coming up to Oregon with hopes of helping the Ducks win more titles.

His size is indicative of an SEC-type offensive lineman. Schools like Louisville and Colorado State wanted Moala’s services, but he decided to be a Duck.

Oregon has had a long history with that particular school in Santa Ana as they continually develop D-I talent and Moala is the next Monarch to become a Duck.

5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei commits to Oregon Ducks

24 hours ago, it didn’t seem like this one was going to pan out. 5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei is a Duck. What a massive pickup for Dan Lanning and the staff.

It will go down as potentially the biggest win for any single team on signing day, and to be honest, it didn’t look the like Oregon Ducks were serious contenders until the very end.

5-star edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei announced his commitment to the Ducks on Wednesday, picking Oregon over both the USC Trojans and Ohio State Buckeyes. The Ducks have recruited Uiagalelei hard for over a year now, and while they were rarely considered the leaders for his commitment, what mattered, in the end, was that they were able to make the final push and land this elite pass-rusher.

Uiagalelei is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 EDGE in the 2023 class, and the No. 17 player in the nation. He is now the second-highest-rated commit in Oregon’s class, behind only 5-star WR Jurrion Dickey.

Ducks flip 5-star Peyton Bowen from Notre Dame Fighting Irish

MASSIVE flip for the Ducks. 5-star S Peyton Bowen is choosing Oregon over Notre Dame and Oklahoma.

The Oregon Ducks are pulling out some massive wins during the end of the early recruiting period, this time by landing a massive flip of 5-star safety Peyton Bowen, who was previously committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Bowen is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 safety and No. 14 overall player in the 2023 class.

Down the stretch over the past few weeks, it became clear that the Ducks were working hard to close with Bowen, who was among their top targets in the class. It became a three-team race with the Ducks battling the Oklahoma Sooners, who were also trying to flip Bowen, while Notre Dame worked hard to hold onto the elite defender.

In the end, Dan Lanning and the Ducks were able to come out on top and land Bowen, who is now one of the staples of the 2023 class and among the biggest wins for Lanning in his young tenure at Oregon.

SIGNED: 3-star offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson is officially a Duck

Oregon went across the country jn order to find and sign offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson from Lakeland, Flor.

Lakeland, Flor. has been known as the Spring Training home of the Detroit Tigers as they have been in that town seemingly forever.

Big Gernorris Wilson is going to try and change that.

Oregon went way across the country in order to find and eventually sign this massive offensive lineman. At 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds, Wilson is still a work in progress. But once he gets to Eugene and is in Oregon’s scientific weight room and all of the other gadgets they have, Wilson should turn into a beast in a short time.

Most recruiting services have Wilson as a 3-star recruit and the Ducks managed to beat out Auburn for his services.

SIGNED: 4-star safety Kodi DeCambra is officially a Duck

Welcome to Eugene, Kodi DeCambra. The 4-star safety from Las Vegas is officially a Duck.

The Oregon Ducks added a key piece to their secondary on Wednesday, officially signing 4-star safety Kodi DeCambra from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada.

DeCambra is rated as the No. 28 safety and No. 317 overall player in the 2023 class. He took several visits to Oregon over the past year and officially committed to the Ducks in May of 2022.

Oregon has some major needs in the secondary this offseason as they look to replace players like Christian Gonzalez and Bennett Williams. While it’s ambitious to think that DeCambra could see a lot of playing time as a true freshman, he absolutely projects to be a nice depth piece for them in 2023.

SIGNED: 4-star defensive tackle A’mauri Washington is officially a Duck

The Ducks just signed 4-star defensive tackle A’mauri Washington out of Chandler, Ariz.

The defensive tackle position is a spot that needs depth and Chandler, Ariz native A’mauri Washington will provide that and a possibility of much more.

Oregon will also lack experience along the defensive line in 2023. At 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, Washington will be one of the largest defensive lineman in the program. Assuming Brandon Dorlus leaves the program for the NFL, Washington could ascend up the depth chart fairly quickly.

Many big-time schools such as Michigan State, Oklahoma, and LSU all wanted Washington’s talents and he decided to come to Eugene instead.

The recruiting services say Washington is a Top 25 defensive lineman recruit and one of the best recruits to come out of Arizona in the Class of 2023.

SIGNED: 4-star DL My’Keil Gardner is officially a Duck

The Ducks inked 4-star DL My’Keil Gardner on Wednesday, getting a nice player from the state of Arizona.

The Oregon Ducks got their first signing from the state of Arizona on Sunday with 4-star defensive lineman My’Keil Gardner on Wednesday morning.

Gardner is a big-bodied lineman who chose Oregon over schools like Texas and Michigan, and he officially signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday. He is ranked as the No. 54 DL in the 2023 class and No. 480 overall player in the nation.

There is a lot of depth on Oregon’s defensive line at the moment, but the starters are up in the air at the moment. While Gardner will have a chance to come in and compete to see some playing time, it looks more like the true freshman will be a nice depth piece for the Ducks in 2023.
