Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group D action Sunday, Brazil and Ivory Coast play in a 4:30 a.m. ET kickoff at International Stadium Yokohama. Below, we preview the Brazil vs. Ivory Coast odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Brazil doubled up Germany 4-2 in its opening match of Group D play, and it was an amazing performance by Richarlison. The forward recorded a hat trick, as Brazil dominated and outperformed Germany 24-7 in shots, including 13-4 in shots on target, with a 52-48 percent edge in possession.

Ivory Coast was impressive in its first Olympic soccer match since the 2008 Beijing Games, posting a 2-1 victory over Saudi Arabia. Les Elephants were the beneficiaries of an own-goal in the first half, and Franck Kessie punched in the game-winning goal in the 66th minute Thursday.

Prediction

Brazil 3, Ivory Coast 1

Money line (ML)

Brazil (-350) looked sharp in doubling up Germany in the opener, but risking three and a half times your potential return is not a recommended wagering strategy.

A better play is YES (-125): BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE for a good value at plus-money.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+110) is also a strong play at plus-money. Brazil flexed its muscle with 4 goals against a very solid German side and should be able to get it done against Cote d’Ivoire.

I do think Les Elephants help the cause with at least 1 goal, as it has a solid cast of young international players.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: France vs. South Africa odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s France vs. South Africa odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group A action Sunday, France and South Africa play in a 4 a.m. ET kickoff at Saitama Stadium. Below, we preview the France vs. South Africa odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

France was drummed 4-1 by Mexico in its opening match. Veteran Andre-Pierre Gignac registered the lone goal on a penalty kick conversion for Les Bleus.

South Africa played the host-nation Japan tough in the group play opener, falling 1-0. GK Ronwen Williams couldn’t contain Japan’s Takefusa Kubo, as he notched the lone goal for Samurai Blue. It was still a nice defensive effort for South Africa.

France vs. South Africa: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: France -550 (bet $550 to win $100) | South Africa +1050 (bet $100 to win $1,050) | Draw +475
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -175 | U: +125)

Prediction

France 2, South Africa 0

Money line (ML)

France (-550) is looking for the bounce-back game after getting crushed in its Olympic opener. Les Bleus will struggle to find open space but should be able to notch a goal in the first half.

I think France gets the second goal in the second half, making the CORRECT SCORE of FRANCE 2-0 (+525) the top play on the alternate lines.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+125) is a little risky, as France has the potential to open it up against South Africa.

The latter showed outstanding defense against a decent Japanese side and will be looking to play a possession game by keeping it away from Les Bleus. South Africa should be able to slow it down enough for the Under result.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Japan vs. Mexico odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Japan vs. Mexico odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group A action Sunday, Japan and Mexico play in a 7 a.m. ET kickoff at Saitama Stadium. Below, we preview the Japan vs. Mexico odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Host-nation Japan picked up a 1-0 victory against South Africa in its Olympics opener. Standout Takefusa Kubo picked up the only tally to propel Samurai Blue to the victory.

Mexico’s senior team is still playing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but there are plenty of outstanding international players to go around. El Tri proved that with a decisive 4-1 victory over France in its Group A opener Thursday.

Japan vs. Mexico: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Japan +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Mexico +145 (bet $100 to win $145) | Draw +220
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +100 | U: -140)

Place your legal, online Summer Olympics bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV and Washington D.C., at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Prediction

Mexico 1, Japan 0

Money line (ML)

MEXICO (+145) was dominant in its opening match against France, and it’s suddenly one of the favorites to win Gold.

It should be able to top the host nation Japan, which won, but wasn’t terribly impressive against South Africa.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-140) is the best play on the board in this matchup, as Japan showed tremendous defense against South Africa. El Tri also shut down a very good France side in the opener. Look for the scoring chances to be at a premium at Saitama Stadium.

Summer Olympics Women’s Soccer: Netherlands vs. Brazil odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Netherlands vs. Brazil odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Women’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Women’s Soccer Group F action Saturday, Netherlands and Brazil play in a 7 a.m. ET kickoff at Miyagi Stadium. Below, we preview the Netherlands vs. Brazil odds and lines, and make our best Summer Olympics bets, picks and predictions.

Netherlands opened with a 10-3 rout against Zambia Wednesday in Miyagi. Vivianne Miedema, the all-time leading scorer in Women’s Super League play, led the way with four goals. Three of her goals came in the first 29 minutes. The Dutch side is No. 4 in the FIFA rankings.

Brazil torched China by a 5-0 count at Miyagi Stadium, led by two goals from Marta. She became the first women’s player to score in five consecutive Olympics. The No. 7 team in the FIFA rankings also saw Debinha, Andressa Alves and Beatriz etch their names on the scoresheet.

Netherlands vs. Brazil: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 9:12 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Netherlands +105 (bet $100 to win $105) | Brazil +210 (bet $100 to win $210) | Draw +240
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -155 | U: +110)

Place your legal, online Summer Olympics bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV and Washington D.C., at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Prediction

Brazil 1, Netherlands 1

Money line (ML)

DRAW (+240) is the best value on the board in this battle of Group F titans. Neither team received much of a test in their opening match, and this result should be much different. Expect plenty of defense.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+110) at even-money is a tremendous value. Both Netherlands and Brazil opened with outstanding offensive efforts; however, they each came against inferior foes.

This will be a competitive match between two of the best women’s squads in the world.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Brazil vs. Germany odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Brazil vs. Germany odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer Group D action Thursday, Brazil and Germany play in a 7:30 a.m. ET kickoff at International Stadium in Yokohama. Below, we preview the Brazil vs. Germany odds and lines, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

We get a gold medal rematch from the 2016 Rio Olympics, and Brazil hopes lightning can strike twice. It pushed past Germany on penalty kicks for the gold in 2016, but Neymar isn’t in Japan, while MF Douglas Luiz and F Richarlison are both present. The 20-year-old sensation F Gabriel Martinelli will need to do some early heavy lifting.

Germany pounded Brazil 7-1 during the 2014 World Cup, but it’s looking for revenge after settling for silver in Rio. MF Nadiem Amiri is a future star who could break out in these Olympics, while F Max Kruse and GK Florian Muller provide a steadying veteran presence.

Brazil vs. Germany: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 8:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Brazil +100 (bet $100 to win $100) | Germany +270 (bet $100 to win $270) | Draw +220
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +105 | U: -145)

Prediction

Brazil 1, Germany 0

Money line (ML)

BRAZIL (+100) at even-money is a nice wager in this battle of the titans in Group D. Olympic soccer fires right out of the gate with some attractive matchups. Alves and the rest of Brazil will be able to get it done.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-145) is the best play on the board in this one, and I’d even roll the dice on the alternate line of UNDER 1.5 (+195) for a chance to nearly double up.

Once both sides are at full strength, I wouldn’t roll the dice on that wager. But these teams will be acclimating, getting their sea legs, and I expect sloppy, slow play out of the gate in the first days of the tourney.

Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer: Mexico vs. France odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Mexico vs. France odds and lines, with Summer Olympics Men’s Soccer picks, tips and best bets.

In Men’s Summer Olympics Group A soccer action Thursday, Mexico and France play in a 4 a.m. ET kickoff at Tokyo Stadium. Below, we preview the Mexico vs. France odds and lines, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Mexico is a little at a disadvantage here, as the national team remains alive and well at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. So, this side is made up of mostly younger, prospect-type players. F Henry Martin, GK Guillermo Ochoa and MF Luis Romo do give El Tri a little bit of experience, too.

The senior team for France just completed EURO 2021, so stars like Mbappe are away from the squad. Experienced players like F Andre-Pierre Gignac and MF Florian Thauvin are in Tokyo, and 19-year-old striker Nathanael Mbuku is a future star.

Mexico vs. France: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 7:40 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Mexico +333 (bet $100 to win $333) | France -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Draw +220
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +110 | U: -155)

Place your legal, online Summer Olympics bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV and Washington D.C., at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Prediction

France 2, Mexico 0

Money line (ML)

FRANCE (-115) is the clear-cut favorite, and it has the offense to make quite a bit of noise up front. The defending World Cup champs might not have Mbappe, but the cupboard is anything but bare.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-155) is the “lean”, as Mexico, in particular, could get off to quite a slow start. France could strike for the opening score in the first half, then play a possession game the rest of the way. I am not expecting a lot from Mexico in this very difficult group.
