Oklahoma captured its third straight one-score victory with a 37-31 win at Kansas State in Week 5. The Sooners overcame 10 penalties that totaled 85 yards by going 6-for-6 in the red zone. QB Spencer Rattler was 22-for-25 passing for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns against 1 interception. RB Kennedy Brooks compiled 91 yards and a score on 15 carries to lead the game in rushing yards.

Oklahoma has failed to cover as a double-digit favorite for three straight weeks, despite ranking 16th in the nation with 38.4 points per game.

Texas picked up its third straight cover with a 32-27 victory at TCU in Week 5. RB Bijan Robinson moved into the lead in Big 12 rushing with a 216-yard, 2-touchdown performance on 35 carries. QB Casey Thompson was 12-for-22 for 142 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Texas is sixth in the nation with 43.8 points per game and fifth in the nation with 268.8 rushing yards per game.

Oklahoma vs. Texas head-to-head

Saturday marks the 117th Red River Showdown that started in 1900. Texas leads the series 62-49-5, although Oklahoma has won three in a row and five of the last six meetings.

Oklahoma’s 53-45 victory in four overtimes against then-No. 22 Texas in October last year was the highest-scoring meeting ever in the Showdown.

The Longhorns have covered the spread in seven of the last nine meetings, while the O/U has split 5-5 over the last 10.
