Tennessee fans blasting hit song at Ohio bars ahead of CFP battle

Tennessee fans are making their presence known in Ohio, having their hit song, Rocky Top, banned in bars across the city.

Ohio is going to have to find a way to tame the hundreds of Tennessee fans in Columbus. The bars have been overrun by Volunteers’ faithful wanting to play their favorite song, Rocky Top.

With tickets on sale and kickoff closing in, fans are starting to get anxious about their team in the first 12-team College Football Playoff.

Both teams arguably feel they are better than their seed, so this should be the most electric first-round game of the weekend. With the winner set to face Big Ten champion Oregon, it is bound to be a terrific battle.

Not only are fans in Columbus for the game, but it also appears, based on the excitement of the Tennessee coach, that there could be hundreds if not thousands in the stands cheering on the road side as well.

Even the Tennessee news is reporting the takeover the fans that have used the Touch Tunes app to play their song.

Let’s hope the Buckeyes give them nothing to cheer about as they should be drowned out by an electric Ohio State fan base.

Tennessee fans overly eager to buy up tickets against Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes fanbase may have to shell out some money to see their team Saturday as Tennessee fans could drive up the price tag.

It is College Football Playoff time, and those wanting to see the Ohio State live may have to pay a pretty penny to be at the stadium.

While it might not seem like many fans would come up from Tennessee, especially considering it is about a six-hour drive, there seems to be a growing concern that the eagerness of the fans could bring a strong orange presence to the typically red Ohio Stadium.

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel was asked if he was shocked that Volunteer fans are excited to buy tickets to support their team in Columbus. Let’s just say that the answer was pretty obvious.

The Buckeyes and Volunteers square off at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, playing in the final game of the first four CFP battles. With the slimmest spread of any first-round game, it should be a thrilling battle between two of the best defenses in college football.
