Five things we think we took away from Ohio State’s pro day

Here are five things we think we took away from Ohio State football’s pro day. #GoBucks

Another Ohio State football pro day is in the books, and as usual, it did not disappoint. Over 100 of the NFL’s finest personnel were on hand at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to watch guys like Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Haskell Garrett, and Thayer Munford do their thing, and there were plenty of rave reviews to be had along with highlights we’ve already shared.

But what can we take away from what we saw Ohio State players doing on Wednesday? What kind of impressions were made, who stood out, and what does it all mean for the upcoming 2022 NFL draft?

Well, we’re glad you want to know because here are five takeaways from Ohio State football’s 2022 pro day on Wednesday.

Every Ohio State player’s pro day results, complete with Ryan Day personalized message

Here are the results of every Ohio State football player that is entering the NFL draft, complete with a personal message for each from Ryan Day.

The most recent Ohio State football pro day is officially in the books, and it was another well-attended event with a little over 100 NFL types in attendance to see some of the brightest OSU has to offer up to the highest level. We should see plenty of them walk across the stage or pick up the phone when selected in April.

All told, eleven Buckeye football players showed off in front of a throng of media, scouts, executives, and coaches, all with their own individual eye-popping results.

In case you missed any of those results, we have them for each individual performer, complete with a personalized message from Ohio State head coach Ryan Day thanks to what the man running the program shared on his Twitter account. To have Day share compose individualized messages for each as they enter the next chapter of their careers is pretty unique and special. It’s all a part of the brotherhood.

Shuan Wade delays pro day workout to April 14

According to Eleven Warriors, Ohio State football corner Shaun Wade has delayed his pro day workout because of a lingering turf toe issue.

Ohio State is scheduled to hold its pro day for potential NFL draftees this coming Wednesday, March 30. There is sure to be a slew of Buckeye players working out for NFL scouts and executives, but it appears one of the biggest names will be missing.

According to Eleven Warriors, defensive back Shaun Wade will delay his pro day workout until April 14 because of a lingering turf toe issue that has limited his ability to go full speed.

From Eleven Warriors:

“My toe still has been bothering me,” Wade told Eleven Warriors. “Even though when I do it April 14th, it probably still is gonna mess with me, but I’m just trying to make sure I’m ready.

“I just started two weeks ago running the 40 and doing things. So everybody was definitely ahead and stuff like that. But yeah, I just gotta keep on getting better and things like that and get the toe better. I got a cortisone shot three weeks ago, and it hasn’t really kicked in for me. I did a lot to the toe, so after all this, I’m gonna get a PRP shot so it can heal all the way.”

If anyone needs to show well in front of the NFL types, it could be the former projected first-rounder. Wade made the decision to come back for one more season when the Big Ten switched gears and put an abbreviated football schedule back on the table. The former slot corner moved to the outside and got criticized greatly in the media for giving up some big plays and being out of position.

We’ll keep an eye on not only the upcoming Ohio State pro day, but when, where, and how Wade’s workout before scouts go as well.
