Ohio State football issues availability report for Northwestern game

Ohio State football issues availability report for Northwestern Wildcats #GoBucks

Ohio State football kicks off against the Northwestern Wildcats for a Noon ET matchup at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Buckeyes are projected to win by more than four touchdowns so it would not be surprising to see some guys miss time. OSU defensive lineman, Tyleik Williams has missed some time this season with an injury, but it looks like he is ready to rock and roll for this week. But we’ll see what that means.

Two depth pieces look like they will miss time today in Mitchell Melton and Aaron Scott Jr., which is a shame due to the expected blowout leading to a potential clearing of the depth. Despite those two missing time, it is always good news that not many additional starters are missing time. Obviously, starting offensive tackle, Josh Simmons, is out for the season and has been since earlier in the season. The rest of the injury report is as follows:

Out

RB TC Caffey
TE Will Kacmarek
DE Mitchell Melton
OT Zen Michalski
TE Jace Middleton
CB Aaron Scott Jr.
OT Josh Simmons
CB Calvin Simpson-Hunt
WR Reis Stocksdale

Ohio State issues availability report for Rutgers game, key players out

Ohio State has some key members of its defense out vs. Rutgers. #GoBucks

The fine folks with the Ohio State Football team have issued the availability report for the game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and the Buckeyes have an issue in the back end of the defense. It is never a good time to lose two starting defensive backs, but a part of me is thankful this is happening against a team that rarely completes a forward pass.

We already knew that Lathan Ransom did not make the trip to New Jersey so that information was not new, but Denzel Burke being listed as out is a bit surprising. As always with these injury reports we get some good news and some bad and this week, with the good news coming in the return of receiver Emeka Egbuka.

Egbuka is extremely underrated in the national media as no one seems to be discussing the effectiveness of who is arguably the most consistent receiver at Ohio State.

The following is the whole availability report:

Out

  • CB Denzel Burke
  • WR Kiyon Grayes
  • DE Jason Moore
  • SAF Lathan Ransom
  • TE Joe Royer
