Ohio State football trying to hang on to 5-star recruit

Ohio State football may lose out on five-star recruit #GoBucks

Ohio State football always does well in regard to recruiting and that is especially true within the receiver room, but one committed receiver maybe looking to flip. Chris Henry Jr. is a five-star receiver in the class of 2026, who has been committed to be a Buckeye since 2023, but rumors are swirling that he may not be as locked in as he once was.

The California product recently took a visit to Eugene to see the Oregon Ducks in action and he apparently liked what he saw. The young star had very nice things to say about the coaching staff at Oregon, and considering it is currently the No. 1 ranked team in the country and already beat OSU earlier in the year, this should alarm some fans.

A consensus top five player in the class of 2026, Henry maybe committed to Ohio State, but there is plenty of time for the young man to reconsider. He has received offers from practically every school including SEC powerhouse, Texas.

Top Ohio State football wide receiver target will commit in August

The Buckeyes are back in this one

We are coming to the wire for Ohio State football target [autotag]Jaime Ffrench[/autotag], the 2025 wide receiver once committed to Alabama.

The retirement of Nick Saban sent waves across the college football landscape, with the Florida being one of those. At one point, it looked like the Buckeyes were trending out of the picture for the nations No. 18 overall prospect and 5th ranked player at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

That clearly has changed, as the 6-foot, 1-inch and 185-pound Ffrench will make his choice on August 30th with LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Texas and Ohio State all still being considered.

What’s interesting about his recruitment has been the fact that he has leaned towards multiple schools, but now according to On3’s Chad Simmons, “don’t have a leader.”

Ffrench has yet to set up an Ohio State official visit, and until then, it’s hard to see the Buckeyes getting his commitment.

Ohio State offers massive transfer portal offensive tackle

The Buckeyes are looking to the portal to fill potential gaps on their offensive line

Even though I’d like to believe [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] reads my content, I know he doesn’t.

What I do know is we both see a need at offensive tackle, especially considering the potential for both tackles, [autotag]Paris Johnson Jr.[/autotag] and [autotag]Dawand Jones[/autotag], to move to the next level after this season.

At minimum, one of the two will leave early. And with not much experience behind them, Day pulled the trigger on former Rhode Island offensive tackle [autotag]Ajani Cornelius[/autotag] and offered him a scholarship. The lineman checks in at 6 feet, 4 inches and 320 pounds. He is getting interest from a good number of Power Five programs, including Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee, Boston College and Illinois.

The next step for the Buckeyes is getting Cornelius on campus, something Oregon did this past weekend. Hopefully Day can get that visit soon to show Cornelius what Ohio State has to offer.

All eyes were on Notre Dame at Ohio State during Week 1

That’s a lot of viewers

When you have two of the most recognizable college football programs facing off against each other during the real opening weekend of game, you are sure that many people will be tuning in.

That is exactly what happened during this past Saturday night and although things did no go the way of the Irish, the game pulled the highest viewership of any contest. The Buckeyes and [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] had over 10-million viewers per @ShowBuzzDaily, 3-million more than the next highest watched contest, Florida State and LSU. The Oregon vs. Georgia and Colorado State vs. Michigan game rounded out the top four watched games of the weekend.

This just goes to show you the strength of both programs among fan bases. Notre Dame will have better days but there were plenty of eyes on the Irish this weekend.
