Ohio State football’s win probability updated by ESPN FPI for remaining 2020 schedule

Ohio State football has just three games remaining on its regular-season schedule. Here’s what the ESPN FPI win probability says for each.

Here we go with our weekly look at the ESPN Football Percentage Index and what it predicts will happen with the remaining games on Ohio State football’s 2020 schedule.

It’ll be interesting to get a peek at this week because some of the metrics and data points that go into these shenanigans won’t likely play well with how the sausage is made at ESPN. Ohio State gave up a slew of yards through the air and turned the ball over three times in a narrow escape against Indiana at home.

Still, this thing is really a body of work and plays into what the other teams have done as well. One week won’t move things too far as you’ll see, but the predictive curve is going in the wrong direction — albeit slightly.

Ohio State plays Illinois this week and needs to get back to playing the type of football this team is capable of and begin an important stretch on the journey to some pretty lofty goals.

So off we go, an updated look at ESPN’s FPI win probability model for Ohio State football’s remaining 2020 schedule.

Ohio State, Big Ten 2020 football schedules released

The revised Big Ten football schedules for 2020 were released on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff show Saturday morning. That includes Ohio State.

We now have our third edition of the 2020 Big Ten 2020 football schedules. We had the original schedules that were built years ago prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. We then had a revised conference-only schedule that was modified and released back in early August as a result of concerns over the pandemic.

Now we have what the newest edition after the Big Ten postponed the season then reinstated it. It had to be revised because of the later start and squashed timeline.

Still, it’s football, and everyone is excited, to say the least. There’s only room for eight regular-season games and one additional, but it’s still going to be worth it because who thought we’d be here a few weeks ago?

The schedules were released on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff show Saturday morning. So, in case you haven’t seen it and are perusing down the schedule looking for the scarlet and gray version, we’ve got it for you.

We’ll have more analysis and predictions later through the day and beyond, so stay with us.
