Nine Wisconsin targets will be on campus for official visits in early June

Reports surfaced yesterday of the NCAA ending its recruiting dead period on June 1, a period that had been repeatedly extended due to COVID

Reports surfaced yesterday of the NCAA ending its recruiting dead period on June 1, a period that had been repeatedly extended due to COVID-19.

In light of the news, it’s been announced over the last few days that nine Wisconsin targets in the class of 2022 will be on campus for official visits during the first weekend of June.

Here are those nine players and where they stand in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings:

Four-star offensive tackle to join group at ‘ChampU BBQ’

You can add 2022 four-star offensive tackle Dayne Shor to the list of prospects to attend during the ‘ChampU BBQ’ event in June.

One of the top targets for Oklahoma Sooners offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh will be attending the annual recruiting event in June. Potential recruits and commits have already been announcing that they will indeed take their official visit during the three-day event hosted by OU football.

Kobie McKinzie is one of the talented players to come to Norman for his official visit, despite the fact that he already committed. This will be the first time since last March that players can have face-to-face contact with coaches, provided they do lift the dead period as expected.

A 2022 Four star offensive tackle from Georgia, Dayne Shor has announced that he will join in on the festivities.

According to 247Sports, Shor is the No. 29 overall offensive tackle in the country. He is also listed as the No. 24 player in the state of Georgia. Shor has one crystal ball prediction that is leaning Auburn but the confidence level is low. It would be hard to fathom that the Sooners don’t have the inside track with him.

Oklahoma linebacker commit to visit during ‘ChampU BBQ’ event

Top Sooners defensive commit Kobie McKinzie announced official visit to Norman.

The NCAA’s dead period will be coming to an end very soon and that means official visits are once again in play. One of the big events for the Oklahoma Sooners is their annual BBQ event every summer in which they host a number of recruits. Last year’s event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and they had to get creative. Much the reason for Caleb Williams putting together the ‘Sooner Summit’.

There have been plenty of announcements about players attending the three-day event in June, including a pair of defensive backs. You can add one more to that list with current linebacker commit, Kobie McKinzie.

The top defensive commit of the class will be making his official visit to Norman, Oklahoma. McKinzie is the No. 5 inside linebacker of the class according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is No. 91 overall and No. 18 in the state of Texas as a four-star recruit.

Another day, another player announcing a visit to Norman, Oklahoma. Top 20 offensive tackle and No. 7 ranked player in the state, Jake Taylor announced two visits with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Oklahoma Sooners being first up.

Taylor currently plays at a school that Oklahoma is familiar with, Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taylor has the size and frame of a starting offensive tackle at the collegiate level. As a junior, Taylor played on the right side and plays with tenacity. He can get to the second level easily and will play through the whistle with physicality.
