Fantasy football draft: Where to target Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Analyzing Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr.’s 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. is looking to rebound after an injury-shortened 2020 campaign. Below, we look at Odell Beckham Jr.’s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Beckham was limited to just seven games last season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee that ended his season in late October.

Over the summer, fellow WR Jarvis Landry shared comments that OBJ is better than last year, and ready, but we’ve heard nothing official from the club itself. Still, it’s an encouraging sign.

Beckham has been the 43rd wide receiver off the board on draft day. That seems criminally low for a guy who can take over a game and put up giant numbers on a week-to-week basis.

Fantasy managers might be a bit concerned about Beckham’s knee, or the fact Landry and WR Rashard Higgins are in the mix. However, when OBJ is fully healthy, he is not only the best receiver on the Browns, but he is a top- 10 receiver in the NFL.

If he can bounce back to his pre-injury, pre-Browns form, getting him as the 43rd receiver would be straight-up thievery for fantasy managers.

Where should you take Beckham Jr. in your fantasy football draft?

You’ve heard of high-risk, high-reward, but rarely does the low-risk, high-reward moniker get tossed on a player. That’s exactly what we’re looking at from Beckham here.

Assuming you fill out your starting wide receiver spots early, especially in PPR formats, can you imagine the embarrassment of riches for your team with OBJ as a potential flex option?

Beckham can be had in Round 7, and assuming he starts the season on time, that would be an amazing place to get him.

But that’s the rub, there is no guarantee he’ll be ready to go on time. He participated in a celebrity softball game in the summer, which is encouraging. There is also a crazy treadmill Instagram post showing Beckham at lightning speed. But there is not much official word on if/when he’ll be ready.

Coming back from an ACL injury is tough for anyone, especially a wideout who depends upon his legs for so much. There is plenty of risk here.

But if you don’t build a team around Beckham, which would be a terrible fantasy strategy, and simply draft him as a spare part, you could definitely strike gold in the middle rounds if he bounces back to what he has been.
